  • In this video I show how a formal sequence must be trained to become realistic. In particular in the Praying Mantis style it is necessary to emphasize the work of the steps to angle towards the opponent and be unpredictable for him.
The same procedure can however be used with sequences of other styles: from the poetry of form to the vastness of reality.

Dear Sir,is this southern or northern TANG LANG -KUNG FU (Praying Mantis)?
Well done as far as I can see,KUNG FU is a lifelong-path right...?!

Hello! Excellent performance. The forms in external styles are league-like and very accentuated, often there is no smooth transition between them, but you manage to create continuity and smoothness from such forms. Cool! You are one of the few who convey the practical value of Wushu without compromising the ancient techniques. As for the "expectation-reality" category, of course, all Western fans of Quanshu constantly ask themselves the question: what can replace, when starting a fight, the classic "deuce" and fast footwork of boxing, how, after many years of training, not to lose a sparring match to a boxer who has been training for only 2-3 years, using exclusively traditional movements? Which is not easy due to the specifics of the integrated approach to training in traditional styles. At the same time, in China itself, they are not very worried about this. Any large school of traditional styles puts up its Sanda team. For example, in Shanxi, our Teacher trained several students in 2008. They were very good in both the traditional and sports sense. Both first and second places in sanda were occupied by Jian Haoquan from Jin Wu, who was considered a serious boxer in sports circles at the beginning of the 20th century, and in Wulin he represented Baguazhang and many other styles.

Yes, even in the previous generations there were no problems in this sense. My teacher's teacher was also a very good boxer. ua-cam.com/video/ImnPZNXwzXU/v-deo.html

@@DanteBasili Excellent video. I just about an hour ago practiced a very similar technique on the day of remembrance of my Teacher Yang Fansheng. The teacher devoted a lot of time to the connection between Xinyiquan Che and Shuaijiao. He showed how, for example, to use Zuanquan in combination with sweeps and throws. A very subtle and at the same time, very powerful combination of efforts converging at one point.

Ciao David. A simple secret is consistency. You train every day, time passes, you find yourself old, but you still do something. What you reap when you are old, you sow when you are young.

@@jrcortez18 You mean Krishna?‥ one of the former carnation of the now present living spirit carnation that you called Christ?… in fact, what differences does it make how spiritual grace is practiced & express? It seems that you mainstream Christians haven′t learn anything, let along change that very much. Are you still repeat on that same failed antiquated misstate of continuing that flawed pre-medieval crusade? Are you & the rest of the mainstream Christians that share your mindset still that faithlessly insecure about the profoundly-spiritual authenticity of the very faith that you practiced?
