Hi Casper! Do you happen to have the tabs for that one edm song you arranged? I can't seem to find them on the website
@@kavikingofficial4855 artists need to pay life ...
I just put a capo on the 11th fret and absolutely none of that happened.
Try a different capo!
**Results may vary**
🤣😂💫best comment award
Lol.....question is.....can you play guitar....
Great comment....giggles.....
@@36moshpit7 - Restrictions apply.
High frets are actually the sweet spot for most of the guitar's strings. Maybe except the low E string, which is the only one sounding decently good in low positions. Mandolin uses the same string gauges while being half as short, so placing a capo on such a high fret is an idea MUCH BETTER than you think!
I figured out if you capo the twelfth fret of an electric twelve string it sounds really close to a mandolin...and not upside down.
For recording.
I bought a really nice mandolin, and i just could not 'get it'.
And no snarky mandolinist
Not
Half as long
You sure about that?
That’s if your acoustic guitar has perfect intonation which most do not.
1:12 idk why but that last part makes me feel like im standing on a beach looking at the sunset while enjoying the sound of the waves and breathing fresh air
Lol now you are making me feel the same😍😇
Look we’re all standing on a beach together 🏝️
The capo is such a good compositional tool. Turns humble open chords into something magical. Jethro Tull wouldn't be Jethro Tull without the capo !
……..and a flute
@@danevertt3210 Mehhh after learning spider scales this is just cheating.
ua-cam.com/video/d3sVZtHe0Cc/v-deo.html
Weird that you mention Jethro Tull.
I saw Uriah Heep open for Tull & the bassist's fingers were just like this dude's.
Could cover half the fretboard with his fingers.

Listened 5 times already! Love the high melodies!
Big fan

Big fan from NAGALAND INDIA
Is this a competition, I listened to it 6 times
High on weed
I put my capo on the 11th fret once but my pants fell down
But I helped you pull them back up.
@@CasperEsmann now kith 😎
Ohhhhhhhh my god mike ur a huge inspiration and aspire to be like u. My humble request could plsss make step by step tutorials for im just an intermediate stiill
I wanted to write that the phrasing at 0:22 sounded like Mike Dawes and well... here you are in the comments.
I really like high frets, it gives such a different sound.
The only problem is it drastically reduces your options as 3/4 of the neck is out of use.
Use a Martin SCe-13, then it's only half of the neck not in use. I normally prefer Taylors, but I've fallen in love with that martin model
Not going to kill you for one song LOL
But you are only losing an octave register? Just have more limited shapes.
Limitation breeds creativity
@@SenkoLoaf let's all go out n buy over a grands worth of guitar for one technique that won't use about £500 worth of the actual guitar, makes sense
Those harmonics are actually impressive, without a real gauge on where exactly the string splits makes it quite a show of mastery
Yup it's like playing high violin notes except if your intonation is off the note doesn't sound...
This arrangement is perfect and it fits while you're in a quiet and calm place.
1:00 is a bit weird guy is crazy talented tho
@@lurk7967 true, it was either intentional or the guy hit the wrong note but decided to keep the recording because it already sounded too good lol
@@Chris-px2gf Nope... it is definitely intentional. I use this chord myself.
@@jordvn.exe_ Yeah I think its just a odd voicing, sometimes you dont have many places to go and you make due with things like that
@@lurk7967 I don't find anything odd with it.. it's all about tension and release, or rather dissonance and consonance. It may sound different to the average person's ear because they are used to hearing the same chord progressions in most every song they hear.
I'd recommend looking into Double Harmonic Major voicings along with tri-tone subs.. those along with the lydian mode are my favourite sounds in music
That's a very well intonated guitar!. Sounds beautiful
I thought the same thing. Most guitars wouldn't sound that good up there.
Yes, indeed. Hell of a guitar.
Yeah..
What is the make of this guitar?
@@NYCBG really not sure as I can't see the headstock but it's been well set up to sound this good high up the neck
Man I’ve played music my whole life and have never ever heard anything this nice before. A hammered dulcimer effect on some awesome picked chords and harmonics. Simply beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful arrangement... Haunting, melancholy, and uplifting all at once!
James White the same adjectives I would've chosen to use.
I've placed capo on all the possible frets, this NEVER happened....

Amazing!! This will be on loop now...
I’ve been playing and writing guitar music for almost 28 years, and that is hands down the most beautiful music I’ve ever heard. Thank you so much. You unknowingly brightened my day. Thank you!
Uh, no doubt this was a lovely piece but "hands down the most beautiful music I've ever heard"? I know I'm prone to hyperbole sometimes, I totally admit it; but if this really is a true statement, I will make it my personal duty to expand your horizons by purchasing some streaming platform subscriptions for you and some playlist suggestions.
@@whatspadethinks yeah my man needs to hear more
Yikes…
What were you playing and writing for almost 28 years?
This is not even the best track iv heard today🤣
That is incredible. The sound, melodies, blown away. Great job
This is the most beautiful guitar instrumental I've heard and felt in over a decade. Absolutely incredible. Thank you!
This reminds me a lot of Andy McKee and Antoine Dufour. Beautifully done!
Yeah I can hear some potential Rylynn influence in this for sure, it's really pretty!
This is just *SO* pretty. What a gorgeous little piece, really nicely done!
I can't get over how amazing that guitar sounds and the way you recorded it.. And i have been in studios for my entire life,, and major ones...SO congrats on that man.
At first I was worried you wouldn't be able to pull this off... but I see there was nothing to fret about :)
Gotta say I smiled :)
get it? FRET
I thought this was going to be a serious comment, but it turns out you were just stringing us along ;)
I saw Danny Gatton play this style. Blew me away!
That was insanely wonderful. Took my breath away!
Capo really? Get one and play with it there is no mystery
@@Ric_1985 I know what a capo is, dunderhead!
I absolutely love your story that you paint with your style ….. this sound has a very painful but yet soulful feel to it …. as a guitar player I can really get into the capo addition and the way it enhances the notes. Great job Casper !
Wow, that sounds great. Very nice tone and perfect amount of reverb.
its amazing how music can tell stories, this one is really beautiful
Wow brother. That was beautiful. Excellent playing.
Wow! That was amazing! Absolutely beautiful. You are so right capoing a guitar on the higher frets opens up a whole other world of sounds tones and harmonics for you. There is nothing better than a high string guitar and a mandolin paired together in a song.
Why is this so beautiful? My ears have been blessed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ You're so talented
Love it! Those harmonics near the end are amazing. Well done!
when i close my eyes i see myself with all those ive lost, and were all together on another plain. thank you for this vision. if you ever released a whole album like this style it would be my favorite of all time.
Check out the album “silent light” by Dominic Miller. It’s a little more jazzy but has a lot of very similar ideas!
@@Producer_Jeff thank you!
beautiful - the capo can be an underrated tool for creativity and this perfectly shows why it should never be neglected
thank you for sharing!
I got tingles 6 individual times throughout this video. It blew my mind how you hit those “off-fretboard” harmonics at the end there, i never thought of that concept extending past the fretboard. Instantly subbed.
I replayed this video maybe almost 20 times. The melody that you play is very beautiful almost makes my cried because somehow suddenly I think about this life.
This is, from the bottom of my heart, one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard from a guitar. Thank you for sharing this amazing melody❤️
Try: "Ocean" by John Butler
Nothing beats the talent of graceful skill. Beautifully played with such elegance. It’s inspired me to pick my guitar up again.
The playing is beautiful! Keep up the tremendous work!
OMFG Thats crazily good, I'm a metal guy but this touches my heart!!! Love that melodies!! Gotta save that in my spotify playlist
wow! watch your mouth please.. would you use your mothers name so vulgarly as you just did the all mighty creators? probably not, because you respect your mother. and yet you use Gods name as a curse word? this is blaspheme, punishable by death in biblical days. its THAT serious to God. His name should only be spoken of in the upmost honorable of ways. please, please, refrain from using Gods precious name in vain like this.
@@sunnywayPS34 yo, chill out. It's just a word.
@@reesespuffs8998 explain that to the God who made you. You are much too relaxed about such blasphemy to a just God who has to judge sin. God help you with such disrespect.
Very interesting harmonic technique at the end. Never thought about how you would do harmonics with finger pics. Dope video!
Helpful tip: you can pluck with thumb and with same hand, use your finger to find the harmonics. While barely touching the string with your finger at the same time as you pluck with your thumb. You can also help practice muting strings with your palm all at the same time.
WOW. Them harp harmonics near the end had me in tears! Great stuff!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Man that was absolutely beautiful, Casper! I loved that passage at the end with all the cascading harmonics!
This is absolutely beautiful. No questions asked🥺
Beautiful. Peaceful.
As a fellow muso and guitarist, this next level delight comes from years of practice, feeling and mastery. I can relate! -Love the tuning. Thanks for sharing
Woow this sounds amazing Casper 💯
Very impressive harmonics at the end !!! This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to improve :)
It makes me want to stop trying. hahahah. (Kidding.)
Absolutely MESMERIZING. Thank you for pulling that through brother of Light…
Such a beautiful sound
Is this your own composition? It’s beautiful! Where can I hear more. Has a real Wyndham hill feel to it . Absolutely stunning. Thank you for giving us this piece of magic
This is the most relaxing and calm happy melody I've heard. It's been a long week at this just melted everything away. It's like a hug for the soul :) Thanks dude
Wow, you built a lot of harmony on such a small piece of land. Beautiful.
It sounds so beautiful!
Awesome, man💪 harmonics are splendid as well
It's like playing guitar in a whole different world with the capo on the 11th fret. This is wonderful playing.
Holy the part with the harmonics sounds so blissful. Really beautiful
So soothing❤
Thank you for this masterpiece.
Beautiful rhythm maker... I look forward to being able to strum and pick as graceful as this.
Sounds great! 😊
This was and is an incredible sound to my ears. I've always liked the sound of a guitar, but never heard a sound like that before I'm sure. Lovely...
that sounds AWESOME!
Beautiful playing. Love the progression at 1:12
Beautiful. I have 3 guitars. I (unfortunately) can’t make any of them sound as emotional/good as this.
Well done - poked me in just the right spot. 👌🏻
Gorgeous, dude. Thank you.
So beautiful arrangament !!
This brought back feelings that I haven’t felt in like a decade. Thank you! 🙏 That was beautiful.
Subbed!
I like how you describe it as a "cute little finger style song", pretty humble take on this micro-masterpiece. Much respect! also enjoying trying to make up a complementary bass line to play along with you! So I subscribed.
That's really nice. Perfect, in fact. It doesn't have to be flashy or fast, but it's got everything it needs to be remembered as beautiful. Just enough tension, with a beautiful release and resolution.
Beautiful.. just beautiful!
I genuinely Love this. It's emotionally pleasing, mentally soothing and very spiritually hypnotic... Thanks dude!
Great stuff sir. Awesome skills, Great sound. Actually a very good recording.
It truly is amazing ! I've been practicing and the capo at the eleventh fret makes my guitar sound like a music box. What your playing here is remarkable. Fantastic ! Love this !

No matter what fret you put the capo on, its always gonna be GREAT when you play it.

The reverb sounds awesome, great little tune!
It sounds like what coming out of a depression feels like
Great song and wonderful sound from your acoustic. I've experimented quite a bit with capo lately, and it definitely leads to new songs. Just randomly put it on a fret, and see what melodies come out.
I've done some with capo to
@@4wdthinking I think it's just cause different key signatures sometimes give off different feelings
@@4wdthinking === DAEABE Open Tuning of 77525. Not standard tuning which is EADGBE or 55545 . Be carful. You may want to tune the guitar a whole step down so that you don't break the guitar or the strings. So tune your E string to C or 4 frets down. Then start from there and tune the rest of the strings. Then adjust the capo accordingly to the 10th fret or less to match the video..
This is amazing, thank you so much for sharing this great song!
Absolutely fantastic
I like playing with a capo on 5 or 7. There’s something kinda magical when you shorten the scale length. The action is buttery and the strings are more responsive.
