A man asks the devil: “How much does it cost to be the greatest guitar player in the world?”
There’s an old joke that goes “Stevie Ray Vaughan made a deal with the devil. No one knows what Stevie got, but the devil got guitar lessons.”
Im here... soul intact 😅
Anyone else surprised by the fact that he isn't playing a PRS?
Nice riff played well but has absolutely no connection whatsoever to Robert Johnson. He never played that riff nor did he ever play that style of guitar blues.
Tommy Johnson was not Robert Johnson. Tommy Johnson was another famous blues guitarist that was rumored to have sold his soul to the devil. It's actually suggested that the legend was switched from Tommy to Robert over time.
The devil went down to Arizona
This movie is not set in the 40s or 50s it was set in the 30s Robert johnson died before 1935. There is actually no live video of him officially. He wrote the song Crossroads which was covered by Clapton. The kid in the movie is portraying Robert Johnson. Also the Great Depression was not over till 1939 just a little history lesson lol.
Dropped D? Or open D?
The Devil knew of his talent, he just needed permanent guitar lessons from Robert himself
Dude it's Tim Kaminski, Gary Douglason, Don Blocks, Allison Krauts, Bobby Bales and Terry Almanac The band is called Union Haitian and they rule.
"Oh son, you sold your everlastin' soul for that?"
Gonna be honest. I came expecting Robert Johnson licks. But I still wasnt disappointed!
dude you gotta do more acoustic blues videos! This was phenomenal!
The movie Is set in the early 30’s sorry to be a know it all but it’s my favorite movie....
O Brother is one of my favorite movies, thanks for the awesome video shouting it out!!
This made me grab my acoustic and start learning it, love that old blues sound and that song, grit sweat and love by brothers bright is another similar one I want to learn 👍
Hands down my favorite video of yours! Please do more instructional videos like this
Didn’t think you’ll stop by my hometown of Flagstaff AZ and that’s awesome 😎
The original song "Man of Constant Sorrow" is from 1913 written by Dick Burnett if I remember correctly.
