AAANNDDD, filmed something along the lines of 12 hours of footage for a Hermitcraft server tour with every individual hermit. Bro has been on that grind… ohh, oh no… he is Griand now 😭🤣
Nah to me the best part was when someone tried to tell him it’s wildlife recording day and he goes “no that’s tomorrow we record on tuesdays it’s Monday” before turning to the monitor 😂
Grian already mentioned how important it was that the last few minutes of the series had to be Wildcard free to make it culminate into a cohesive ending, but I'd like to bring up how just the text "The ending is yours... MAKE IT WILD!" showing up on screen right before the final fight was so simple but so brilliant. Not only does it get both the players and the viewers into the headspace that the final showdown is about to happen, it can also be read as the players themselves BEING the final wildcard. It's just great stuff.
@iloveowls90 I mean, "Wild Life Recap" doesn't necessarily imply that Grian was going to be part of it, and he wasn't mentioned in the title or thumbnail.
I was watching i think it was Grians episode of "Impossible Minecraft" and Grian and Lizzie were down in a cave exploring and Lizzie shouted out like "OH!..sorry i thought i saw the snail" and it literally had my LOL'ing. he think he has traumatized her for life with a fear of The Snail.
Joel Toretto was all about family. Hence the car. He played fast and furiously at the end to avenge his family, and insure there's at least 10 or 12 more sequels.
@@sd5867 there's one other aspect that you might be glossing over. When you really engage with something doesn't matter if it's a hobby or a profession or whatever. When you're really stuck in the weed's it's all you do with most of your day you stop engaging with content that is about it. So as an example professional chefs generally don't go home and watch other professional chefs make content. Lawyers don't go home and watch show's like law & order or police body cam channels etc. It's not unusual at least to me that content creators don't spend a lot of time watching other content creators that make the same content as them. It's just to close to business as usual especially if that actively don't want to be spoiled on their shared projects.
Tango looked and sounded like he was having the time of his life during the superhero episode. He was having so much fun. Havent heard him that animated in a while. Not in a bad way, but you could tell he was enjoying it.
Gem: Tango! Tango! Tango! Tango! Tango! I just want you to know, that if you die, with this power - Impulse: *blip* Tango: creases over laughing. Then dies. Twice.
the grian jumpscare omg. never thought you’d get him on here tbh, he’s too private. but it makes sense he’d hop on to talk about wild life, especially in the semi detached logistic/appreciative way he does. man told us he was getting married once and he’s never let anything personal slip since lol (good for him)
@@nnamdiobiekwe4482 In a recent Phasmophobia VOD with Impulse, Grian said "Never again" to the podcast, but you can never tell when he's joking or serious! I am another who absolutely respects his wish for privacy, but would also LOVE to have him again on the Podcast! But I would not be surprised if it doesn't happen.
They didn't really talk about it much, but I adored how the superpower wildcard brought dead players back so they could play a small role. I think having dead players still being able to make an impact in later sessions was genius. I would certainly love to see something that still lets dead players be involved to _some_ minimal capacity carried over into potential future Life seasons, but maybe that would also have the downside of making the deaths not seem as permanent as they should be Regardless, this season of the Life series was absolutely fantastic. All the work that Grian and his team put into the modpacks and datapacks is astounding. I _do_ hope that Grian doesn't feel like he HAS to top this one in terms of production quality, because I can imagine burnout hitting HARD if he tries forcing the potential next season to be as production-heavy and intricate.
That happened in Secret Life as well, Jimmy came back after his death to haunt Grian for an episode. It really is a fun way to keep the losing players involved, I love it
Yes!! I really want to see a "haunted life" where ghosts can interact with the world in subtle ways. As more players die there's more invisible people to mess with the living
"We did develop to the lowest common denominator" killed me. Excellent episode - Loved having Grian talk about his thought process, the team, how everything was made and was used by players.
1:01:38 oh wow!! That's my music!! :D I'm glad you guys enjoyed the trivia bot so much! I was a part of the trivia team and it was so fun coming up with all the different questions!
I hope Grian doesn’t fall into the trap of creating something so good and setting his standards so high that he feels pressured to come up with something even better than last season. All the dynamics in Wild Life were so much fun, but there’s something magical about Third Life and Last Life. They didn’t have as many complex dynamics, which gave people more room to play roles and create moments purely out of their imagination. Like Scar spooky baby and selling crystals, Bdubs and Cleo with the crastle, Ren as the king… We love seeing these players in a Minecraft world, interacting with each other and pushing their creativity to the limit. That alone is enough for me.
1:48:45 grian forgets that joel has already built a boat and a submarine in the life series edit: he also built a helter-skelter and a ferris wheel for some reason in secret life
Not being negative here, Skizz explaining how everyone in the series truly respects each other without any animosity is the reason why not anyone can just be invited to the life series
As far as "scripting" goes, I think a lot of people don't realize/consider a few things: 1) that improv (actual theatre improv) is still rehearsed. There's no script, but there are rhythms to hit for a successful performance and if a joke REALLY LANDS, of course it gets re-used. It's not like people jump into an improv performance with no prep at all. As mentioned in a sub comment - prep is not the same as scripting. 2) all of you know and like each other, and are professionals who have been making content like this for a LONG time. You're all excellent at working with others to find narratives and propelling scenes forward. That has nothing to do with scripts. 3) EDITING. of COURSE narratives hang together. You all spend a lot of time post recording to tease out narratives and emphasize them through editing. 4) the time between sessions means you've edited the previous session and can consider ways to advance the narrative you edited last time meaning things hang together better and relevant moments can be pursued with intention. None of that is scripting, but it IS skill. I guess it's a compliment that you all are so good at it people really think it's scripted? But I get why that would be frustrating. It almost discounts all the hard work you all are actually doing.
Also, preparing isn't scripting. One person can go into something with an idea of how they want it to play out, and they can act according to that idea, but it doesn't mean that all the surrounding pieces are going to fall into place and that other people's ideas are going to fall in place.
@lisahenry20 exactly, and that's what I think people who don't understand improv get confused by. A lot of people seem to think it's either no prep at all or else it's scripted, but that's just not how that works.
I'll also add that once you have a little experience storytelling (whether that's video making, writing, DMing, etc.) it becomes pretty easy to throw in foreshadowing in the moment for something you hope or plan to have pay off later. Grian and Jimmy's interactions this season (and Grian's promise to end Jimmy's series) is a fabulous example of this. Even if Grian hadn't ended up killing Jimmy, the promise of it is funny enough in the moment for their dynamic, but because Grian *did* end up doing it, that payoff was extra sweet.
@@lily-wx1vb when grian promised to take Jimmy out of the series, I just knew that one of them would end up taking out the other. Either way, it would have worked. And when I saw Jimmy's finale and saw two messages come up when he died, my initial thought was that Grian had taken himself out as well as Jimmy (then I realised the message was too long to be for grian).
@@lisahenry20 Definitely, Ren's finale episode is a perfect example of that. He had his whole "Mart-Ren, DNA abomination" lore that he wanted to play out, but everyone else was either too creeped out or too distracted with other storylines to engage with him. There were too many other pieces falling into place around him.
Grian being mimic was so perfect to create these sweet moments where he guides people with their powers This series was just so, so perfect. so well planned and so brilliantly executed
The thing is, the reason everyone loves the life series so much is because the PLAYERS HAVE FUN. The genuine joy you can see as they do these series is what brings in the community such love for this series
I have to say, after Skizz got offed, then another Skizz Wild Life episode popped up, my delight was immense. The zombie thing made me so happy. Edit: GRIAN JUMPSCARE
Animating for this season was so absolutely amazing. It was so so much effort-with life, and school-and I was starting to get burnt out. Doing that has made me gain a somehow even larger respect for the life series and every single individual creator. Everyone here has made something truly special and you guys know it‼️❤️
I love your videos and work. I thought you had to be out of school because finals and stuff coming up. And I do agree It's truly special and unique for everyone involved
Dude.. holy shit man. What? Wha?? Smh. Thats incredible. Your work has been one of the things i got to looking forward to. Extra extra kudos for doing it all during school. That's no joke man.
Im suprised to hear that the trivia bot was a bit last minute bcs the bot feels so authentic to the whole life series. The animations and sounds were greatly done. Congrats and thank you to all the people involved.
Session 7 of Wild Life was my all-time favorite session. Not just from this season, but from the entire life series. The superpowers created so much goofy moments, and every power felt like it really matched with the player. Also, one of the positive aspects I've heard people mentioning about Secret Life is that the tasks made the viewers want to check out other video's to find out about everyone's task. I think session 7 really carried that on, because the superpowers made me want to watch other POV's to explore everyone's power.
@@kilroywashere860 YESSS, i ended up watching all povs and was so happy to see each person’s video had some individual moments involving their powers, or they wouldn’t notice or understand somebody’s actions bc they didn’t fully understand everyone’s powers. what a session
session 8 also was probably the best finale, i feel like most of the time the ending episodes were kinda just more dull and boring compared to the other episodes where the goal is just wrapping things up but this one was so much funnier and more organic
I LOVED the superpowers! It was SO much fun watching Tango zip around with a full server chase ensuing for the second time (but this time to Benny Hill lol)
I think this might be one of my favourite episodes. Hearing Grian talk about stuff "out of charachter" is always a joy. I really like getting a less filtered view into his mind, and I've always wanted him in the podcast too! It was a great episode filled with great questions, chemistry and info dumps. Thanks for making it happen!
1:49:21 Joel's car was part of his Dominic Toretto character (played by Vin Diesel) from the "Fast and the Furious" movies -- Dom was all about "family"... and cars. Especially the cars, since flashy cars and explosions (usually involving a car in some OTT manner) was the core of all fifty bajillion of the movies :P
This! ^ I didn't watch any of Joel's episodes (I Should lol) but I know from one of the perspectives, one of the questions from the trivia bot was who Joel was roleplaying as during wild life (to that effect) so I knew it had to do with Fast and the Furious
So thrilled to hear Grian! Our whole family LOVES the life series. We don't believe it's scripted like some say. Additionally I know there is some criticism -- however life series is a Grian brain child- and we are SO grateful for all his time and hard work. Also with busy schedules we know it's an additional ask on all of fav minecrafters to participate - and are SO grateful for you all as well. Far and away our favorite UA-cam series to watch Thank you all for such AWESOME content!!!
I don’t get why people think stuff like this is scripted. Here’s my 2 cents: Me and my friends often play SMPs between ourselves created by ourselves. They aren’t far off from the life series in the style. Usually we get about 3-5 active members, and it’s not huge. The point is, the “life series phenomenon” is something I’ve witnessed myself in these SMPs. wars falling into place, and unlikely events occurring. It’s definitely not near the level of the life series, but if I imagined a version of these SMPs in which we gained 6-8 active members, all of them being active at once in sessions, I can see how the stuff in the life series happens the way it does. It’s all a huge clockwork machine. E
When i first saw that Joel built a car I absolutely hated it but since he's always my first/main pov for the life series i just got used to it. Now i actually love it because i just think that it's goofy nature is actually so perfect for the chaotic vibe of this season. Actually, one reason i really loved the ending was because you could tell how much fun everyone was having and it just felt like the perfect conclusion to Wild Life. Everyone did an amazing job on this
Love the discussion about comparing seasons. I know a lot of people want the series to have some overarching narrative arc and get upset when the new seasons have a different feeling from the first one, but that's what makes it so fun! The first season was great, and every season since has also been great in a new and unique way. Just like the Impossible Minecraft or Guess the Build series, the fun part is getting to see how they interact when you drop them into a new enclosure. Each installment in the series is it's own special thing and I treasure them all dearly.
This is a must watch for ALL Life series fans!! Grian is the type of creative mastermind who I love hearing talk about the process of things. He thinks so outside the box and with other's enjoyment in mind that every single series is a joyful experience for all. I truly have enjoyed each one! I love all the creators in it and always wish for more! Thanks for doing this and every episode!
The whole season was amazing and creative, but Snailmaggedon was probably the best thing Grian has dreamed up so far for this series. The way the Life series has evolved definitely raises the bar of Minecraft content on UA-cam.
my favorite thing about this season is how whimsical everything felt. the fact that the wild cards weren’t just some terrifying/dangerous challenge mode but instead added so much joy and mischief along with the difficulty was just brilliant and it feels so fitting for this cast. all the effort from the dev team to add the extra polish really went so far in making it feel immersive and silly and just so lively. i also absolutely LOVE hearing ab the behind the scenes stuff so this is such a tasty lil treat and i’m grateful y’all are sharing it with us. i love the technical bits and i love to hear how much grian thought through the application of the wild cards and how ppl will utilize and/or exploit them. gosh the thought put into the presentation of the wild cards blows my mind a bit since i don’t think i ever would have considered it but it does make SUCH a huge difference. i’ve been doing happy lil claps throughout the whole podcast episode at the sheer number of successes from the dev team and all the life series folks this is such a fun conversation to hear (:
It really surprised me when I heard Grian’s voice, I was anticipating Grian being a guest on the podcast but didn’t expect it to be this one! It’s fun to hear about many of the behind scene stuff and get to appreciate the amount of work that was put into making the wild life series. Watching this series has definitely been one of my happiest times. Thank you Grian and all the life series members and developers for bringing such joy to us! 💚💛❤️
Yes, thanks for just randomly changing skins 😭 No matter what I blocked, I couldn't escape the namemc spoilers lol. Really enjoyed this season, glad you all did too!!
Grian's little post-game check-in does remind me very much of what I do as a D&D DM. I spend a lot of time coming up with places and people and battles that I think every table will enjoy (I run three VERY different games, from very dramatic to deeply goofy) and I want to know if it's working for people! I always ask "do you want more combat? Do you want more social interaction? Are you excited about where the story is going?" and if it works, that's when I feel I've done my job. If not? Back to the shed
I had a feeling Grian might be on this podcast. Grian, you did an amazing job. Thank you and the creators for taking the time to make such an awesome series!!
The way Grian is describing his enjoyment and goals of running the Life series makes me think he would both be a very good and very much enjoy being a Game Master for a ttrpg
One of the reason why I like the Life series is that it excludes Dungeons and Dragons energy edit. In DnD nothing ever goes to plan there's a constant battle between the DM and players and sometimes you just bet on something and hope it will work out.
This is the episode I've been waiting to watch for more than a year. You can tell watching the Life Series that Grian puts a lot of thought into curating an experience that will have stakes and humor and memorable moments. Getting to hear him share his thoughts on this podcast is a dream come true. Also love the joy you all bring each other.
I knew Wild Life had the highest production value out of any life series thus far (especially judging by the bit of the production process shown in the credits of Grian's finale episode), but man, all the stuff that Grian and co. had to do to make it work is absolutely insane! And I loved how some of the Life Series viewers and fans got involved, whether it be in the development of the datapacks/mods themselves, or through other means such as the trivia questions. Overall, this was an amazing season, and probably my favorite so far, if only for session 7 alone... :P
i cant imagine how hard it is for grian to take part in theses series, know what the twist is, but still play fair to everyone else. major props to him for being able to balance all that.
I am so so grateful to Grian for making the Life Series and bringing these people together for our entertainment. It's how I was introduced to Skizz (and many other Life members) and I've been subscribed to him ever since Third Life (been subbed to Impy and Grian since Hermitcraft S6)! And I like how Grian describe each season as its own thing, because that's so true. We shouldn't be comparing the seasons with each other, they all have their own merits and obvs we all have our favourites (myself included), but there's always amazing bits in each and every season. I love love love each one individually and hope there's more to come!
@@baahubali3213 Afaik in MainMC you can see people's skins that they have put on their account and people were looking at that to gain early info about upcoming sessions, I assume there's a time when they get put on so people assumed that based on the time they put on the skin is that they would be out, but they randomized it so nobody really knows who actually did get out first
@@baahubali3213 lots of people watching the series would keep an eye on namemc (website that allows to to see what skin someone is currently using) to see when the life series members skins changed (like if they lost a life and so wore their yellow or red skin or in this case skizz and mumbo changing their skins to zombie) so grian and all the members apparently changed their skins sometimes during the session to zombie skins just to throw viewers off and make them think someone was out when they weren’t (that’s what i gathered anyways)
I love Grian so much! He loves his friends so much and he truly bends over backwards for them! He worked soooo hard not only for them to have good content but also fun! But while he's transparent about how hard he worked he was still incredibly humble about it! Singing praise of his dev team and the players!
There is something very elegant in not boasting Grian, who is probably the biggest "not yet a guest" of the show on the thumbnail and making sure this is all about the Wild Life team and event as a whole. I nearly didn't watch it, glad did, this is awesome. Indeed very impressed by the quality of the dev all along, and I am pretty sure everyone and their mother wants to play the super hero mod with their friends.
Hearing all the details that went into the development of this series is incredible. Bringing in members of the community to help develop things, the cheat-codes to making certain wildcards feel a certain way - you can feel how much of a passion project this is, and it shows in every second. Winners, losers, highs, lows, none of it matters as much as the *fun* that permeates the entire series. Absolutely wonderful.
Each new series has been my new favorite. I so appreciate Grian for bringing a new experience to each season. One of the things I took away from THIS season was that the 'Life' aspect wasn't so much about taking others' lives, but first figuring out & surviving the latest twist, as a group. It was such a different take on the series. Looking forward to the chaos of the next series. I hope Grian doesn't feel the need to go bigger & bolder. The joy of this series is just watching these friends be chaotic.
30:59 There's a bit of a misunderstanding regarding this moment, Skizz doesn't actually put himself in any extra danger by placing the blocks, he eats the dirt and places the blocks afterwards, even though it kind of looks like he's (somehow) doing it in the reverse order. Skizz is already safe the moment he eats the dirt, and had quite a bit of leeway too.
i'm very disappointed that wild life was the first season i got to experience as it was going, but i really appreciate all the work that has gone into all of the seasons. grian is a mastermind, no doubt. he brought together an AMAZING group of people, and therefore made an AMAZING series. i hope the best for you guys and all the life members, and ill (hopefully) see you next season!
@ my past year has been binging hermitcraft and life series, so yes lol. but i hope to watch from other's perspectives, cause i really haven't expanded much from grian, scar, joel, and mumbo!
Hey Imp and Skizz! I just wanted to say how grateful I am for all the work you and the other members put into the life series episodes, especially wild life. I’ve been struggling with an undiagnosed medical issue for over a year that has forced me to have to do school online. I would have a hard time feeling motivated to do school but having a wild life episode come out on Saturday really made me look forward to finishing my week of school. I’ve also felt so creatively inspired. I made each lifer’s snail out of origami and it was so fun! However, the past month my condition has worsened and I’ve barely been able to leave the house. I’ve not had energy to even do online school leaving me stuck in bed all day. The wild life videos have been such an amazing distraction from my pain. They took me into a different world in a way and brought my spirits up when I was having bad days. My little sister has Post-concussion syndrome which has put her in a similar position as me. We loved watching the episodes on our TV and not needing to feel like we had to talk to each other, just watch the tv screen. Today has been an especially difficult day for me. It was the first time I wasn’t able to stand up and walk around because of pain and fatigue. Listening to this podcast made me so intrigued and amazed at everything that goes into these series! I don’t think you’ll ever be able to fully comprehend how life changing your videos can be even for younger people like me. Genuinely thank you guys so much ❤
Incredible episode. The interview style is immaculate. This is everything I wanted to know about the life series without getting too technical!!! I'm a semi-new fan, but this episode really sold me on the podcast.
1:43:55 It's a really good point but there is something so ironically funny about the idea of a safe-space for everyone to get mad at eachother and make mortal enemies.
Funny hearing about season 1 at 1:34:00, and the changes since. I still rate Scars death to the creeper, and the ensuing Grian servant story as probably my favourite story in this series.
The ending for Joel was SO entertaining. The giggling & glee of that dude was just brilliant. I'm sure it's been said already in the comments, but Joel's car was Don Torreto's Charger from Fast & Furious. He was Joel Torreto. That's why they were a family.
Once again I'd like to say a massive thank you to all of you guys for putting the Life Series together. Never has it been more apparent just how much effort goes in to getting something like this off the ground. And I loved hearing the behind the scenes of how it all came together. Knowing that the snails were designed to be tailored to each player only a few days before you recorded the episodes was mind blowing. It really is very clear just how much you do all like and respect one another, and I'm so glad we all get a little glimps of that when a series like this happens. As fun as playing Minecraft alone can be, ultimately it all does come down to the stories you're able to create when you play together and nowhere more apparent is that than the Life Series and it's extended lore. So, thank you once again for another great series. I can't wait for the next one
1:39:24 Grian's response to Skizz' gushing sounded so genuine and proud and happy, its so lovely to hear that sincerity in his voice. Its so lovely and you should be so proud of yourself Grian and all.
I love your post-season discussions anyway, but with how complex Wild Life was I really enjoyed hearing from Grian about the work that goes in and how down to the wire and reactive some if the decisions were! The episode we've always wanted ❤️ the dynamic of the three of you is fab.
The Life series are the best. I hate that they are so short because they are over too soon but that is also the beauty of them. The interactions between all the participants are always so funny and you have to watch everyone’s episodes to see all the angles, they are brilliant and our whole household are always so excited when they drop
I’ll admit I couldn’t wait and watched on Spotify this morning haha, this was a very fun episode! It was wonderful to hear about how many people from the community brought it all together, there’s so many names I recognise from stream chats and seeing artwork. I was surprised to hear about the trivia bot being last minute as it stands out as one of the most iconic cards for me!
Grian and Impulse, I don't think you described the illusioner well enough. You forgot the "pajama" and "magc hands" parts. - A concerned GoodTimesWithScar viewer
Has anyone noticed how BigB’s first death was his snail and he was sadly taken out by the same lil dude in the last episode 😢 BigBSnail was truly his biggest enemy all along 💀
I just want to say thank you to everybody from the creators and devs for this series. I watch this series with my daughter who is a teen. Early teen as in 13-14. It's something that keeps us close and gives us something to talk about. It's so hard to communicate with teenagers and I'm happy we can still connect through something as simple as a UA-cam series. I love you guys! It means more to me than just a UA-cam series.
They could talk about this series for hourrrs and I would eat that up. And I really appreciate all the work that went into this both from Grian and everyone he got to make this work. Edit: Also let me just say, it made me super happy to see Mumbo, Skizz, and Martyn return as zombies (and then others who died in the finale). Obviously, it's the nature of the series where if you die on your last life, you're out. It's over. You won't move on to the next session. BUT, it's so good that the dead players got to still contribute to the rest of the season in some way. If they don't do something like that again, I won't be upset because again, it is the nature of the series, but I do appreciate that they did it this time. Especially since certain players went out so early LOL
Grian saying it's gonna be hard to top Wild Life is funny to me, because even though Wild Life is fantastic, I think Secret Life was the real pinnacle of the Life series so far. Wild Life is a solid 2nd place. It's absolutely incredible. But secret life just inherently created so many hilarious moments and crazy scenarios that just take it to a totally different level. Gem opened the end portal, and B-Dubs killed the dragon while Impulse ran around doing absolutely nothing pretending to help with the fight. That's amazing, and it never would've happened on a PvP server without the secret task system. Same goes with scar basically being a super villain the whole time. That only happened because of the random assortment of tasks he was given. The finale was a zombie apocalypse with a warden fighting a wither. Need I say more? Secret Life was incredible, and _that's_ the one that's gonna be hard to top.
I think what he referred to here as "topping" isn't the amount of enjoyment that you get out of the series. Like he said, comparing the season with the previous one will take away the fun of it. What I think he meant by "topping" was the level of preparation he needed to do for the season, as we can probably tell, Wild life took a lot of preparation and a lot of people to work with, probably more than all the others. So he basically were worried that he needed to "do more" to make sure it's "better", if you get what I'm saying.
The life series is such a delight and you guys are right. It is a true blessing to have a group of friends where you're not all worried about stepping on each other's toes all the time. I am glad to have a group of friends similar and I wouldn't trade them for anything. Thank you guys for sharing your creations with us, we look forward to what ever may come next
Two hours!!! Wonderful jumpscare. It's always so nice to see the bts of the life series or life series recaps. watching this to get over my sadness that tomorrow won't be a new episode to look forwards to. this season was amazing. It was so much fun to watch.
As much as we want to have life series injected into our veins every week of the year, I feel a part of the charm is that there aren't too many seasons. 3rd life was 3,5 years ago, yet we only just got done with the 6th season. This makes every season more special, and gives us time to remember those moments well, and for the artists to make amazing animatics. The breaks give time for everyone to give originality to every season, and that's the most important thing here. Also, to Skizz: I find it hilarious that during the first season of not teaming with Tango, he immediately becomes your bane, with both the first and last murder
The fact that Martyn's superpower wasn't planned is amazing to me because he does LISTENER and WATCHER lore. Having the one person that does lore in the series get a randomized power that matches the lore he does
Honestly this is my favorite episode so far. All three of you are so passionate about the project, I would have been disappointed if it was a shorter episode. Could have listened to the reminicsing and behind the scenes talk for hours. Thanks for all the work everyone involved puts into making such great content we all get to enjoy
Can we just admire the fact that Grian did all these in the background AND uploaded a hermitcraft episode AND created a new series?
AAANNDDD, filmed something along the lines of 12 hours of footage for a Hermitcraft server tour with every individual hermit.
Bro has been on that grind… ohh, oh no… he is Griand now 😭🤣
Which is INSANE.
and signed up for mcc
@@theturnshavetabled2769 Twice (I know the second one was after the last recording and editing, but the series was barely over)
Impossible Minecraft, Wild Life, AND his biggest hermitcraft episode all at once is kinda crazy
The best part about the Ren stream is he goes "Am I missing an event or something?" Before he realizes!
Nah to me the best part was when someone tried to tell him it’s wildlife recording day and he goes “no that’s tomorrow we record on tuesdays it’s Monday” before turning to the monitor 😂
Lolll😂😂😂
A few streams after Wild Life ended, Ren actually said "Am I missing a recording of Wild Life?" or something along those lines lmfao
I never thought about it like that, I love that
Yeah, and it fits really well with someone like Joel who is one of the most chaotic players in the group lol. The wildest, if you will
I was not expecting a certain guest to suddenly manifest three minutes in. Props for letting it be a surprise!
did you not notice the TITLE of the podcast? im assuming the name never changed?

@@martijn9568actually??! that’s insane what
1:37:33 Grian ever so subtly suggesting they might try the OG life again. It’s time for Past Life
This may be the single greatest name for a new season that i have ever heard
I mean if they ever make a series with all past twist, like a final season of life.. I'd be like Mixed Life or Jumble Life
Or maybe Super life when they're all using their powers and had to fight the boogeyman
They didn't really talk about it much, but I adored how the superpower wildcard brought dead players back so they could play a small role. I think having dead players still being able to make an impact in later sessions was genius. I would certainly love to see something that still lets dead players be involved to _some_ minimal capacity carried over into potential future Life seasons, but maybe that would also have the downside of making the deaths not seem as permanent as they should be
Regardless, this season of the Life series was absolutely fantastic.
Mumbo getting six kills AFTER he died was so funny 😂 he comes off as SO anxious when faced with perma-death, but as soon as that's gone? BOOM!
That happened in Secret Life as well, Jimmy came back after his death to haunt Grian for an episode.
It really is a fun way to keep the losing players involved, I love it
Yeah!
Just having them around at all was a treat
Yes!! I really want to see a "haunted life" where ghosts can interact with the world in subtle ways. As more players die there's more invisible people to mess with the living
much respect for grian for shouting out every dev and artist by name
"We did develop to the lowest common denominator" killed me. Excellent episode - Loved having Grian talk about his thought process, the team, how everything was made and was used by players.

That trivia bot music is a certified BOP.
trivia bot was my favourite wild card besides the one where there was all of them
wait I loved the music so much- and good work with the trivia bots, thats so sick!!
Like Scar spooky baby and selling crystals, Bdubs and Cleo with the crastle, Ren as the king…
We love seeing these players in a Minecraft world, interacting with each other and pushing their creativity to the limit. That alone is enough for me.

Not being negative here, Skizz explaining how everyone in the series truly respects each other without any animosity is the reason why not anyone can just be invited to the life series
its really impressive that they've managed to find a bunch of people who have the right temperament for this series
As far as "scripting" goes, I think a lot of people don't realize/consider a few things:
1) that improv (actual theatre improv) is still rehearsed.
Grian being mimic was so perfect to create these sweet moments where he guides people with their powers
This series was just so, so perfect.
so well planned and so brilliantly executed
To put it in the simplest terms possible: "When everyone knows how to roll with the punches, nothing looks like an accident."
The thing is, the reason everyone loves the life series so much is because the PLAYERS HAVE FUN. The genuine joy you can see as they do these series is what brings in the community such love for this series

My favorite organic moment in Wild Life was Skizz screaming at Scar riding on his head
Mine was Mumbo shouting "ENGLAND!" in frustration.
The Eating one was the funniest one by far. I loved that episode. Watching Tango try to eat Joel's base nearly killed me.

Far and away our favorite UA-cam series to watch
Thank you all for such AWESOME content!!!
I don’t get why people think stuff like this is scripted. Here’s my 2 cents:
Me and my friends often play SMPs between ourselves created by ourselves. E
i mean its really easy to tell if its scripted as its very obvious when someone is acting 😅 i havent had that feeling in life series
Everyone did an amazing job on this
I think he didn't had better Block choices for the Car (Resources were limited ) Hence it was a bit goofy looking at first
Love the discussion about comparing seasons.
I genuinely don't know who wouldn't like this season over others 😭 it was so cool
This is a must watch for ALL Life series fans!!
Grian is the type of creative mastermind who I love hearing talk about the process of things.

One of the reason why I like the Life series is that it excludes Dungeons and Dragons energy

Agree!
1:58:50 that was so evil lol. But also genius, i understand why you wouldn't want people to know. And you know what? it made the finale so much better

@@baahubali3213 Afaik in MainMC you can see people's skins that they have put on their account and people were looking at that to gain early info about upcoming sessions, I assume there's a time when they get put on so people assumed that based on the time they put on the skin is that they would be out, but they randomized it so nobody really knows who actually did get out first
@@baahubali3213
lots of people watching the series would keep an eye on namemc (website that allows to to see what skin someone is currently using) to see when the life series members skins changed (like if they lost a life and so wore their yellow or red skin or in this case skizz and mumbo changing their skins to zombie)
so grian and all the members apparently changed their skins sometimes during the session to zombie skins just to throw viewers off and make them think someone was out when they weren’t
(that’s what i gathered anyways)
I love Grian so much! He loves his friends so much and he truly bends over backwards for them! He worked soooo hard not only for them to have good content but also fun! But while he's transparent about how hard he worked he was still incredibly humble about it! Singing praise of his dev team and the players!
Was not expecting Grian. I love the snails. They were perfect, it linked the hermits snails to Wild Life and the names were unreal. Loved them.
Skizz/Impulse, add Grian to the title ! This is such a great deep dive into BTS of this series, absolutely wonderful.

Please get Joel and talk about his feeling about the life series. I would love to hear his perspective on the final and his experience in general.

Genuinely thank you guys so much ❤
So sorry to hear of your situation. Get well soon.
Both Joel and Lizzy bring a level of unpredictable chaos to any series that I adore
Hearing Grian verbally recognize the existence of Undertale feels so weird to me
He had a really old video building the ruins from Undertale
Didn't he send a voicemail to Jimmy when Jimmy was playing it?
Two HOURS??!!
Yeeeeey!!!!
This is gonna be fun
Podcast?
We eating good
And With GRIAN!!
This was awesome!! And having Grian on to talk about Wild Life and the Life Series was the 100% correct move here. Thanks, guys!
As soon as I saw the couch I knew we'd have a guest. Welcome to the show Grian!
32:07 this is such an underrated clip from the series, its so comedic and really sums up each of the trios personalities lmao
Same here haha😂
Amazing how none of them caught on to Joel's car and "family" being Fast and Furious references lol
😭😭
GRUMBOT MEETS METTATON IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING
Grian and Impulse, I don't think you described the illusioner well enough. You forgot the "pajama" and "magc hands" parts.

Has anyone noticed how BigB’s first death was his snail and he was sadly taken out by the same lil dude in the last episode 😢 BigBSnail was truly his biggest enemy all along 💀
Yeah that was one of the first things I noticed
BigBSnail the true final boss of Wild Life 😔
I just want to say thank you to everybody from the creators and devs for this series.
Again thanks to everyone that made the series possible
As much as we want to have life series injected into our veins every week of the year, I feel a part of the charm is that there aren't too many seasons. 3rd life was 3,5 years ago, yet we only just got done with the 6th season. This makes every season more special, and gives us time to remember those moments well, and for the artists to make amazing animatics. The breaks give time for everyone to give originality to every season, and that's the most important thing here.
Also, to Skizz: I find it hilarious that during the first season of not teaming with Tango, he immediately becomes your bane, with both the first and last murder
Its so nice to see grian on the podcast and congrats to joel. I had the best PREDICTION ❤
