A couple additional notes: make sure you back up your presets prior to the firmware update as the process resets all presets to their default. Also, make sure you use the new Quicktone editor to restore your presets. If you use the old one you may brick the MG30. If you do, hold down middle and right foot switches when powering on to reset defaults.
Though I did the presets backup, once I've tried to load them up my unit got stucked...completely crashed...no matter how many times i tried to turn off and on...had to change unit. Still with the new one I can't upload the former presets, but at least I could turn it on. results all my presets lost. very disappointed, but still i really like this device...
Lots of useful additions here, NUX if you are watching, can you make it so that you can turn the preamp section of the amp modelling off, but leave the power amp section on..... then you could use a preamp pedal in the loop and use the power amp and ir's with it. Go on NUX , you can do it!
I tried to suggest it, just got told to buy a nux solid studio....I'm like yeah, I already have a cab m , but I want a multi effects pedal with this feature built in, someone needs to make this a thing!

Nice review of the firmware update, but it would also be nice when Nux will update the user manual. I have the MG 300 and I am very satisfied with it but I also am interested in the MG 30. I didn't buy it yet because I had hoped for a better send/return solution: now the send and return are in the same place in the effect chain !! Having a seperate position for the send and return in the effect chain would make parallel processing with another amp/modeller possible !!!

Needless to say, I was upset, since I didn't back up the presets I created. Now I restored the unit back to its factory settings, but now I not getting any audio. When I plug my guitar cable into the input port of the MG30 and connect my guitar, I don't have any sound. Can you please help? Thank you.

I'd love to hear the new Darkglass amp model with an actual distorted tone that Darkglass is famous for.. Also curious about the matchless amp model, havent been able to hear it in detail on that edge of breakup tone... Also is it possible to drop tune using the whammy pedal? Say playing in D standard with your guitar in E standard? Thanks!

Hi! The nux homepage says, there is a new firmware update in the making for the MG30. :) Something i miss and also missed in the mg300 is a clean octaver for playing bass with your electric guitar. Currently, I use the harmonizer as octaver. But even if I drill down the "mix" to the lowest possible value, the original tone comes through a little bit. Would be great, if you can drill it down as such, that only the harmonized sound is audible but not the original. I guess that would be an easier fix than an additional pedal. But I would really like it, for playing with the looper and be able to play my basslines on an electric 6 string guitar. I am awaiting the update. :-) Do you find it great as well, that there comes one other? What do you think of my harmonizer as octaver idea? Is it worth a suggestion to NUX?
Is there any way to set the MG-30 so that the built-in expression pedal does NOT function as a volume pedal? I prefer to use my own volume pedal in a certain place in the effects chain (after the overdrives). I want to use the built-in pedal to control effects parameters, but not volume. Can't seem to find any info about this anywhere...
Wow!! Thank you for the video! ... I was amazed at how fast the company brought the NG-30 after the NG300 ... I wonder if they have another larger pedal board in the works? I'm going to keep an eye out for the second part to this video
I think it would make perfect sense to come up with a Headrush sized board, but they're doing the right thing here and now by establishing a strong customer base.
It should be sooner than that. eBay tends to be a little generous on the arrival date. I’m expecting to see the next shipment hit Los Angeles first week of august at which point I’ll turn it around and ship it out same day as I’m close to the NuX offices. All of the dealers are in the same boat waiting for inventory so my advice is not to wait as they tend to sell quickly.
Hi, I got my MG-30 today and I updated to 2.5.6 the current firmware. I switched off and back on again and went to start the Quicknote editor it just says connect the MG-30 but I had the USB connected. I have tried several times now but alway the same with no success! I am doing something wrong here? Can I open Quicknote from within the modeller? I am on Windows 10. Many thanks.
@@ThePedalGuy There is a message on the screen every time I turn on the device "Do not turn off the device, it's updating ". I pressed the save button at the factory reset.

The expression pedal can be assigned to other signal blocks. Have a look at my video on the NMP2 where I discuss this.
Can we have more than one same kind of effects like delays in a signal chain or is it like just we can select the blocks available only
There is a way to double stack certain effect blocks. Like dual overdrives for example.
