When you have 700 crores at your disposal to make a movie you have the luxury to go to real locations and shoot in controlled environments(sets) etc , the fact that they went completely digital shows their lack of commitment, patience and persistence that a project like this deserve.

Not one person is cast right. Ram ji and Lakshman ji were born hours apart. Here they look like father and son.
Ravan was middle aged and Ram ji a youth. Here Ravan and Ram ji look same age!

I really dont think so. The TV shows based on ramayan has better music. I mean ajay-Atul's music for The TV Show mahabharat is SO MUCH BETTER. Plus the language is more authentic too.

What I noticed about the trailer is that the Visuals and CGI were improved. It shows significant improvement from the colour grading and VFX. I have to say that it looks much better than the disaster teaser.
But, they could have made some better creative decisions, like hanuman's look, Lord Ram's look etc..
They actually made a well cut trailer and made sure to show less VFX shots 😂

2:57 This anime Ramayan is the best adaptation until now. Reminds me of childhood. Coming to Adipurush, dialogues sound appropriate and visuals are grand. Kriti is looking ethereal.This movie can do great numbers at the theatres if the screenplay is fine.
I really think if the dialogues & delivery offer more of the same like the trailer combined with Ajay Atul's score, it can really conjure up a thrilling ride!

But The difference in SS Rajamouli and Om raut, if you give both same amount of budget, the quality of project will be different..
The difference is SS Rajamouli in RRR still heavily relies on Real Sets, Even shooting big action sequences, there is always Practical + VFX mixture into his films...
But Om raut more relies on Green Screen, Same happened with Tanaji The Unsung warrior...
That is there difference in visual beauty of films made By SS Rajamouli....

I definitely agree! So much of the introduction shots of both Ram & Bheem has to do with being shot in a real place with real people! The moment the backgrounds just showcase colours of the rainbow: it takes so much away from the 'journey' we want to get invested in!

True this kind of nitpicking is only applicable for tollywood actors not for khans and Kapoors he was high on weed while reviewing for pathan and brahmastra
Since my expectations were so low, I found the trailer to be quite good. But I’ve one fear though. Abt characterisation. In old Telugu films, Ravan wasn’t someone who’s just a villain, he had personality, charisma, and epicness of his own. And legendary actors like Ranga Rao garu and sr ntr garu played the part. Ravan, as a character, has always had a nuanced take in those old films. Hell, sr ntr made a whole movie abt Ramayana from Ravana’s pov. So one can understand the position Ravana has in Telugu film history atleast. But I think om Raut is gonna just demonise him (pun intended) and water him down to an evil laughing and growling villain. I don’t think I’m gonna find Saif Ali khan any different from tanhaji to Adipurush.
that's a very detailed and on point assessment of how the audience has a no nonsense zone for any form of nuance in storytelling. They currently want blanket good vs evil storylines & i actually feel Om Raut only knows that form of storytelling as we saw in Tanhaji!

Honestly, the serials they show based on ramayan and Mahabharat are better than this. Like with a smaller budget, good actors etc.
Sharad kelkar's voice is really great and suits Shri Ram's character. I think the trailer was cut in a way to hide all the annoying things like flying creatures shown in teaser, i don't think they removed it. It looked like an improvement was done, but the last 50 seconds of trailer still look like the work needs to be done

What I noticed was improved colour grading and slightly better VFX. But what I am more skeptical about is that the trailer hardly showed any shots which were there in the teaser, which leads me to hypothesize that maybe the makers, after the trolling of the teaser, improved only certain sequences and edited those to make the trailer and garner positive reaction this time around. I fear that when we will go into the theatre to see the movie, there may be a case that the Poor CGI and VFX we witnessed in the teaser are still present and it will be a case of really inconsistent VFX throughout. It's not possible to improve each and every shot of a CGI and VFX heavy movie within such a short time and within budget
You know nothing of VFX. The VFX in this trailer is on an elite level without question. It top notch. It's the best VFX Indian cinema has got.

What worked for me in the trailer is the dialogues… they seem to have captured the essence of Ramayana…when Sita, being the mother of the universe, says she wants Ram to end Ravana’s pride (she doesn’t say life… pride)… or Ram explaining why he can’t seek help from his own army or his interaction with Shabari… even raavan’s mind voice pushing him to gain Lakshmi to become Narayan….if they have done this throughout the film, then it’s a huge win. For people who have grown up listening to the nuances of the epic, the essence goes a long way. And if that’s right, the shoddy VFX can be forgiven.

Kept my expectations floor-high, but damn, this level-up in VFX got me excited. But again, they didn't show most of the heavy CGI scenarios like the first teaser and that's what's making my skepticism grow.

I feel it takes a lot of efforts for any studio to make improvements... Like from giving the worst teaser to giving a good trailer... Many would find this trailer ok but compared to the teaser, it's way better trailer presented to us... Imagine had the Adipurush team had just released this as the trailer the very 1st time, then I don't think many would have even complained about the VFX that much and many of us would have gone berserk over this trailer already... They still have a month's time to make necessary changes, so hopefully the emotion and story and screenplay part clicks with audiences... If it does, the VFX errors might be ignored for once and I won't be surprised if it breaks all records 🙏
This trailer itself have the best VFX interns of Indian cinema.
Bhramastra had better cgi than this but this trailer is way better than the teaser and the audience will be enjoying it in the theatre more than bhramastra (obviously) because of the background score and the story.

I don't know about you or anyone else but I personally loved watching VFX of Brahmastra on big screen, I still complain about the screenplay and dialogues, but it'll improve in future series... Bui I feel the main problem with audiences today is that the audience are always playing the comparison games.... Every director has his/her vision on the story he wants to show and the audience, instead of appreciating the vision or giving constructive criticism and feedback, are just focusing on comparing Om Raut's work with Rajamouli or Ramanand Sagar or Japanese Anime film or Marvel or DC etc. and with this logic, no film will ever be unique in any sense whatsoever... As an independent film, it looks good and if emotions of this film and its heart are in the right place, then it'll break BO records for sure

The people want to go to theatre to experience great visuals with the story.

Mostly audience already know the story of the Ramayan. People wish to see a visual spectacle on the screen and therefore they are bound to compare it with other movies.
This movie has the highest budget till date yet in India yet I don't see the visuals on the level of RRR or Baahubali.
So why will the people not compare it.
@@thorodinson6597 Yes, You are right about that👍 Sometimes what happens is that the emotions and storytelling of the film are so strong that despite of all its flaws in songs or VFX or actions etc., audience love the content and still go and watch the movie.... Many small budget films like Kantara or Kashmir files or Kerela Story have okish VFX but their storytelling and emotions clicked with audiences... I agree that there should not be even one scene which has VFX issues if your movie is a 500+ crores budget film, but sometimes the director isn't able to execute his vision and that's a common error we see in so many movies across the world these days... But I feel if Om Raut has nailed the screenplay and emotions behind this film, then despite being okish to good vfx, this movie has a chance to do wonders as box office... And sometimes we need to give a chance to movies like these, otherwise the producers won't even think about big budget films like this in future 🙏😂
My point of view at whole Adipurush scenario is that even if the CGI was good or even if it was a live action movie, I'd be only moderately interested at best. Ramayan and Mahabharat are massive massive epics but unfortunately the general public through serials and cinemas is only privy to so much of its story. There are many mini stories and spin off versions for characters in ramayan or even different versions of ramayan that tell the story differently which if makers had opted to make a movie about I'd be much more invested and interested in. End of the day apart from animation and costume choice the script choice is also a mistake I'd say.
I think stories of Mahabharata & Ramayana cannot be captured in a single movie. There're lot many sub plots, lot many versions from all regional sections of India that it would be good if these stories are shown as Cinematic Universes. Can say "A Ramayana Cinematic Universe" or "A Mahabharata Cinematic Universe" with phases (as seen in MCU). Each & Every characters in them have back stories, personal lives etc that can only be explained through multiple movies & spin offs.

THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING THE JUNGLE BOOK. Exactly what came in my mind after seeing the cgi of this movie. Fine, they made so many improvments in the trailer and i just love the background score, still got high hopes. But, this is the best that they have to offer for a movie with a budget of 700cr??? This is just ridiculous at this point sorry. My mind is not able to accept Prabhas' look as lord Ram, no matter how many times i watched it. Lol in RRR, when Ramcharan came on the screen in his final look, everybody in the hall was crying and joining hands. In my opinion Mahesh Babu as lord Rama and Ramcharan as Lakshman would've worked Perfectly.

How can you say Sita and Lakshman are considered underdogs. The vanvaas was only for Ram. Sita and Lakshman CHOSE to be with Ram, in spite of him telling them not to do so. It requires great levels of love, loyalty, self sacrifice and determination to voluntarily choose an ascetic life, even when they are not required to.
I think they showed only good parts of this movie. Let's wait

Your are blind visually and mentally. If greatest VFX Indian cinema can't save this film then by that logic all indian movies are trash and good for nothing. I would rather keep watching Hollywood movies and never look out for any Indian cinema. VFX of Adipurush is a league above Brahmastra. Adipurush contains the best VFX of Indian cinema. As simple as that.
I think the team put a lot of efforts on the trailer cut to only include the shots that they think are the best(to create +ve buzz before the release), they did do some color and lighting corrections but I'm still wondering where did all the money go.
All this psychoanalysis aside, a massive movie is coming out on Ramayana and needs to be supported to inspire other filmmakers to attempt with the scale and magnanimity!

I felt the trailer looked a million times better than the teaser. The dialogues and music were breathtaking. I feel like they’ll do justice to Ram’s character based on Prabhas’ dialogues as well. I look forward to seeing the full film when it releases.

Same thought exactly, while the trailer for the movie definitely exceeded our low expectations, I couldn't help but feel uneasy about Prabhas' appearance when he delivers his dialogue. His facial expressions just didn't seem to match up with his words. Additionally, it was disappointing not being able to see Ram's aura. Despite the big budget and big names associated with the movie, the animation still falls short.

I agree with you about Prabhas not quite feeling like Ram. The background music sounds great too. Definitely a step up from the teaser, but let's see how the whole show goes.

The Mahendra Baahubali character of Prabhas did have some aspects of Lord Ram such as loyal, charming, loved by all his subjects and played so well by Prabhas so I'm hopeful of his portal of Ram will justify Lord Ram's character. Alos the background score and the "Jai Shri Ram" chant gave me goosebumps that I did not mind the visuals/CG aspects particularly during war scenes shown in the trailer. I think this trailer has defnitely raises hope for the movie when compared to teaser.

Even if critics pan this movie, people will rush to theatres for sure even if they have seen this a million times as a TV serial and the fate of The kerala story gives high hopes.
That's why I like projects under the Clean Slate productions. Even if the budget won't that much high but the content they have provided till now in a different genre is something extraordinary. Hats off to Karn Sharma and Anushka Sharma for this
If I'm not wrong Karn Sharma is brother of Anushka Sharma even in Phillauri the vfx were fine kudos to red chillies vfx

very well-balanced analysis. Impactful dialogues, good acting by Kriti and Sunny, a lot of reliance on public sentiment.
The scene with Sabari maa was also very emotional, even though we saw only a glimpse of that.
Also using animal sounds in the war scene is a good decision, much on the lines of Planet of the apes series.
I think the actors have given their best and this should play out in favour of the movie, even if the VFX looks tacky. That's because Ramayan is as much a story about human emotions as it is about grandeur.
Also, one of the reasons this trailer impresses is because of the sheer low standard set by the teaser. I just hope they have not taken only the best shots from the movie (or the improved shots after teaser debacle) and made a teaser out of them.
Prabhas is still in his bahubali zone.... Arun govil performance as shree raam is unmatched✨

With all the knowledge about VFX and D.I I learned during my college (which is still limited ) I can assure that all they did to improve the visuals was to darken the background so that the graphic images look some real. Lol still very animated 🤣🤣 it will be hit anyway now that audience in this country are cherishing their hindutva films and this is the cherry on top.

But But But, they have actually NOT SHOWED a single scene that was being criticised in the trailer.
Black Asgard (Lanka), Monkey Fighting, Ram against Ghost creatures, Bali vs Sugreev fight (2 gorillas fighting in Jungle Book type scene), Ten Heads of Ravan, Ravan on Bat (or dragon whatever it was), etc
Cause most of the trailer included normal scenes of talking, walking, etc actions scenes were less and also the Lanka side was shown less too.
So I doubt they improved anything, instead cleverly edited the trailer.
Also Sita's scene and Ravan's end scene show DARK THEMES LANKA, so I doubt they changed anything and we will be seeing the BLACK ASGARD in the final film, it's just that they made sure to not include their VFX scenes and scenes that can be criticised in the trailer.

The teaser is basically Adipurush with NVidia GeForce RTX GPU off whereas the trailer is basically Adipurush with NVidia GeForce RTX GPU on.
I think they have played safe by not showing too much of CGI on the trailer and rather focus on establishing the key characters. I think that is a major positive as of now
Some questions left unanswered. Is the bat dragon still alive? Will ravan 10 heads still appear cartoonish?

700 crore is not much when it comes to the CGI specially when everything is digitally rendered. Even Bahubali has questionable CGI for most part, but it was the first thing to come out on such a scale so no one questions it. As Rajamouli has said multiple times, emotions should work for everything else to work. So for this film, if the screenplay and performances are good and it touches people emotionally then nothing is stopping it from being a big success.
2 main reason what's wrong with the movie-
1. Indians have yet to pioneer animation and VFX. We have just started to use vfx especially in full fantasy, so finding good quality vfx studios in Rupee is hard.
2. Tumbad was made in 5cr and look at it. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movies r lower than 200cr yet nothing less than breath taking. Even Brahmastra had compelling vfx.
It's director's vision that decides how the end result will be. If he had shoot in practical location and effect this would have turned out much better.
Also it's not only vfx that's off but the art and motif too.
@@Vor567tez Mostly agree, my point was when you are making a big fantasy film in a studio 700 crore is nothing. You'll need somewhere between 1500 crore to 2000 crore. Tumbbad and SLB films are not vfx heavy and the need for vfx here is much more than Brahmastra. Of course everything depends on director's vision, it's a choice he made to not use practical effects or a mix of practical and CG.

After watching the teaser i made up my mind that nothing will change my mind about this movie . But after watching the trailer with the background score I'm really hopeful for this one
I'm really stunned by the closing dialogue of Lord Ram. I mean, it seems like the writer didn't understood the character of Ram. He, out of all people, never was upto for war. It has to the last option for him.

With most people not having seen the Ramayan on big screen this is a great occasion, imho people will overlook some mistakes and love this one., the bgm and sharad kelkar voice is a big plus.

The motion capture technology costs way more than 700 crs for an entire movie shot using this technology. This motion capture technology is grade 2 level of capture (grade 1 being Rajnikanth's Kochadaiyaan)and its budget is according to it. If you need "Avatar" level capturing flush 1200 cr at the beginning itself.
The trailer is better than the teaser, but I still think that the casting could have been better, specifically Prabhas as Ram. The choices made by the creators could have been better as we all know the story of Ramayana. So audiences just want a good and epic experience in the theaters.
If there is no prabhas, I don’t think there would even be a question of ramayan. Bollywood young heroes other than khans have not developed a minimum guarantee market for the producers to trust and make a very big budget film. Prabhas is safer bet for the producers then because of pan India market. May be if the same project started now they would have casted ram charan!

If you read Ramcharitmanas, you'll find very few instances where Lord Ram loses his temper. Like Ram Parshuram sanvaad (the conversation is pure badass by the way) or when the Indian Ocean refused to give way to Lord.
But a very prominent character trait of Lord Ram that is shown in the epic is that a normal person would definitely underestimate his caliber at a first glance. His whole personality is presented in way that he is a exception to your rugged look a kshatriya used to have. Prabhas clearly lacked that. Plus Sunny Singh also is quite opposite of what Lord Lakshmana is shown as.
I think even epic said that he had broad shoulders, big chest, सुडौल sharir and prominent jaw.
I think director vision has a problem on designing lord ram character , he looks good we now that we saw him in bahubali , but om doesnt pay special attention to prabhas and saif ali lhan looks , i think if designed perfectly prabhas looks great as lord ram

Ajay Atul saves the day. The vibe of bgm is more like the dark night rises bgm but i love it. Although a good comeback by the makers.
How badly I wished that mani ratnam should have made this movie. From acting to casting, everything is perfect in his movies. And the music - Ar Rahman. What more to say!!!

For me Shri Ram is essentially an action hero.. embodiment of both calm, soft, generous demeanour and a tough warrior prince who assembled an entire army in the jungle from scratch.
I liked the dialogues in the trailer so I am personally excited to see this new rendition of Shri Ram different from what I am used to see him like.
A new rendition is definitely welcome especially if it is backed by such hard hitting dialogues. I hope tho that Ram's portrayal is not full of rage & anger constantly tho. It would take away from the core essence of what he represents!

Those animated hollywood movies are actually animated. But this adipurush India's most expensive movie's vfx is so dumb that it became an animation for us all. And it's not even just another movie but movie made on ramayan.

If greatest VFX Indian cinema can't save this film then by that logic all indian movies are trash and good for nothing. I would rather keep watching Hollywood movies and never look out for any Indian cinema. VFX of Adipurush is a league above Brahmastra. Adipurush contains the best VFX of Indian cinema. As simple as that.

I liked the trailer, many people complaining that prabhaas doesn't have any expression need to understand that it's not any other character where he can play the quintessential hero. He is playing lord Ram and Ram is known as a very level headed guy and who looks at good and bad times with an equal sense,
Even baahubali had similar character design but many people didn't understand that.

I also thought about the aggressive nature of Ram from the trailer, its vastly different to what we have read in stories and watched on screen, but since Ramayana itself has several interpretations may be it was a deliberate move to showcase their adaptation different.

Everybody can have his/her own interpretation, and dragon toh kuch bhi nhi, there are even wilder interpretations and adaptations of Ramayana where the relationships between characters is vastly different from the usual Ramayana. See videos of Amish tripathi he has explained this very well

I have one doubt 😅 From teaser to trailer they never showed us the lives of Ram and Seeta before their departure to forest so i am assuming that the movie only focuses on their exile and Sita’s abduction and defeat of Ravana or maybe they are trying not everything in the trailer 😅

About Prabhas's character depiction u talked about being similar to Baahubali ... Well the SS Rajamouli's Baahubali by itself is an amalgamation of Shri Ram with hints of Arjuna ... So Prabhas's depiction even though it might mimic Baahubali is still okay (to some extent) .. also comparing it with legendary Arun Govil would be too much to expect from Prabhas ... however so far Prabhas looks promising to me as Ram (so far) !!
Its sad that the legend which is based on Ganga valley region's history, but people all over the country r so hyper emotional and they dont focus on their own history and culture that much

Did they deliberately make a disaster teaser to make people excited by the trailer ??? I believe it will have a great bgm (not sure about the "sound design") and it will be an above average film. Like the dialogues were "good", but still there was no heart in the delivery. Its like they made Lord Ram "cool" (all the rotating bow shots) but missed the most important aspect of calm and soothing presence. Also they definitely used the classic cheat of making everything dark to hide the cgi.
They made a mistake of making it with human beings.
If this was launched as animated movie, it would have been so much better.
