This is such a small area of the city of Cartagena. This is el centro, the main attraction for tourists-what they want you to see. Here it is kept clean. The neighborhoods where Cartagena’s inhabitants are a different story however, this is just the pretty cover of the book, the tip of the iceberg, the surface.
Cartageneros are happy, but because we have no choice. Life is extremely difficult, we’ve faced corruption and neglect from the government, so the good vibes you see are what we manifest because we don’t take life for granted.
My father went to Cartagena for the same reason as most of the people in the comment section, to quickly marry and take home a young woman like you see in these videos. I was born shortly afterward.
I advise, for the sake of the child you could potentially bring into this world, that if your intentions are not 100% pure, do not start a life with one of these women. I’m grateful to have been gifted life, but one of the roots of my depression growing up was being in part the son of American perversion. To whoever reads this, please take this into consideration.
