50-Hour Prime Rib

- I wanted to cook something extravagant for the holidays, so I spent a few days making prime rib and some really fun side dishes, like 15-hour potatoes, creamed spinach, horseradish cream, and creamed corn.

That spinach shot at 9:34 is mesmerizing
That is some wallpaper material in there.
I was trying to find someone who shared the same sentiments as me!!!!

Has been for a while. Stop stating the obvious. You can be more realistic and say you like his videos lmao.
That’s what working for buzzfeed will do to ya. Alvin probably has all the tricks up his sleeve
Alvin, I don't know what you could possibly be cooking that would take 6 months, but I'm sure it will be amazing! Seriously though, I hope you are well. Come back soon. :)
Yea
He mostly does collabs on other cooking channels. This is sorta like his side gig i think
He’s now hired with Binging with Babish! Hopefully he comes back to this channel to do these kinds of videos though.

I literally said out loud, "Fuck you!" and stopped the video because I was so stunned by how beautiful he was able to make a pile of spinach look. I'm that blown away right now. What. A. Shot. Lol
i mean dont get me wrong, i love cooking and it itself is a kind of art, but that combined with the camerawork, setting up the shots focus, editing and all just fills me with joy every time. truely a work of art

As someone who has done this twice already in the short time of owning one, this is probably gonna be something I try from now on. Even with that little thing they give you, I still have done it before with an errant finger not in the right spot.

I've heard Alvin's voice plenty of times in the various different online series' he's been in, but the little noises he makes in these videos just hits something different. They make me unreasonably happy.

I like how they're certain details in this video that aren't often mentioned. They manage to capture a piece of media with extremely well done cinematography and production complexity without the stiffness that often comes with a process as systematic as editing of this calibre which only serves to enhance the "homemade" aspect of the project by including the aspect of sharing with your friends or needing more coffee after some work or even the dread of only getting a handful of spinach from a full $10 and since it lacks the cluttered and untidy finish that homemade pieces normally have they strike a difficult balance between the two making this the closest thing I've seen to a masterpiece in a long time.

My family made a prime rib for Christmas today and we made a garlic, thyme compound butter on it and then put some vegetables with the prime rib while it was cooking. Those vegetables tasted euphoric; they were probably the best part of the meal, even better than the prime rib itself!

The 365 days pasta is gonna be incredible 🔥💪
That two year recipe is gonna be great!
I’ve never cooked prime rib before, I’ve never even touched it, but this looks good so I might give it a shot.
In my family we usually do a rub of garlic, parsley, salt, pepper and oil, then roast like Alvin does here. It's quite tasty, but I prefer a slow-cooked brisket. So fatty and tender.
These videos are cinema gold. Every bit of the angles and shots are just as impeccable as the food itself. Each video I watch over and over!!
can we please appreciate how soothing his cooking is.
I love how well you take advantage of your environment despite its space limitations and the fact it isn't set up like a studio, and yet you still construct a narrative around it that tells a detailed and evocative culinary story without any talking. Your productions remind me of James Cameron: he's only made a handful of films in his career but they are all absolute bangers, quality over quantity. Would be thrilled to see something for the holidays in 2022! ❤
The amount of work you put into these videos is amazing! That's the great thing about cooking, not only is it something you can do, but you get a pretty good reward out of it too! Stay strong out there!
