Jewelry Tool Talk: Sandpaper versus Sanding Discs

Let’s talk abrasives. Which is better? Sandpaper or sanding discs? In this video I discuss the pros and cons of each and how I use them in my workflow.

Thank you..do u use the sandpaper sheets cut into strips with a mandrel on a flex shaft or both. I use the mandrel with my shaft starting at 400,600,800 ,1000 then polishing. But I like your way of using different directions with different grit paper..love your stuff

I use both the mandrels and the sheets on a stick. I primarily use the mandrels on the inside of rings and then everything else is DIY sanding sticks.

Thank you so much for the information. What about the disks that I see that peel off that people put on their flex shaft? Do you know anything about those and how they work? Thank you

You’re so welcome! I’ve never used the peel off type and have been trying to find a supplier so I can review them. 😁
