The speed, the riffs, Abbathesque vocals...this is probably the best "return to the roots" thing any band has pulled off.
I think this answers the question whether there is Immortal after Abbath. Great track!

This is tight. The guitarist finishes his solo and goes into the verse flawless. To say the drummer is a monster is an understatement. From a 64 year old blues bass player. I like this a lot.

for a guy who was diagnosed with acute tendinopathy & had surgery to correct it he plays guitar amazing after not playing for a very long time & his Vocals are great too,really like this direction of Immortal its sinister

I love Abbath and his music, but this is Black Metal. You know where there are bands like Mayhem and Gorgoroth, even Dimmu Borgir whos first vocalist was Silenoz, they all had drastic lineup changes. Whats really unique about Olve, is his music writing skills. Its sad that this is turning into a Megadeth vs Metallica type thing with the fans.
Mark 13 except Hetfield writes 90% of metallicas material so that one doesn't work 😂
Mark 13: I could joke about James Hetfield but he has a core role in metallica (I think he's less expendable than Kirk Hammett), Araya is clearly are far more powerful vocalist than Abbath any day. Not many can do his vocals, Abbath's vocals are pretty easy. Just listen to Inquisition. Demonaz might be a bit weaker as a vocalist but he does an ok job. Demonaz is far more essential than Abbath - all their best albums were mostly/fully written by him, and he's always written the lyrics as well. Blashyrkh is his world.
At the end of the day he's a drunk who couldn't turn up to rehearsals, both Demonaz and Horgh clearly take the band more seriously than he does. Also this might be a fairly standard "single" of the album, but All Shall Fall was mindnumbingly boring, and judging by Abbath's solo album of carried over Immortal material, he had nothing more to offer to the band. I think he ran out of ideas after Sons of Northern Darkness.

Much as I like Abbath's solo stuff, this is savage! It sounds like Immortal to me, and that's what matters most to me. The production is excellent; not too polished and not too shitty, either. It strikes a perfect balance between those two extremes. Horgh is raging behind that kit and Demonaz' vocals--I imagine that's him--sound downright caustic. Well done, fellows!
