Government over-reach is disgusting! Small farms have been the backbone of America and it's obvious our elected officials want to curry favor with corporate farming. Vote them out!
You could have just said government is disgusting and stopped there. It arrived at this point because people allow it to hold influence over their lives when it should not. The only ethical way forward is through voluntary consent as a social imperative. Voting them out might be a nice sentiment but it doesn't work in practice when they're willing to use violence and manipulation to maintain control.
Precisely.....they want all food controlled by the corporations, the government so people can be controlled. Farmers in Oregon it is time to disobey everything from government.
If you don't want water at your house then let-em, pot farms, pump. As the water table drops homes will be cut off. Nobody thinks anymore. That cost thousands to redrill a well. I'm sure home owner don't think about that.
Apparently Oregon is full of idiots because they keep on voting in the same type of people that do this to them. I have no hope for Oregon, nor do I feel sorry for the people of Oregon, accept for the conservatives there.
Get out of Oregon. Red states get successful, then they attract the blue crazies and the blue crazies destroy the state while living off the taxes from prior success. Look at California for another example. They're trying to do the same with Texas.

Have anyone contacted Attorney Robert Barnes to help these farmers. He is a wonderful man. He's fighting a case in Pennsylvania for an Amish farmers right to sell his products. Not just his right but the right of people to buy the food they want, not what the government wants. The government is trying to control our food.
I used to admire the Amish, till I realised they are horrendously cruel people. They run 25% of the puppy mills, and debark the dogs with sharp instruments down the throat. They work their horses to death, literally. So many horse rescues save Amish horses from kill auctions, and most are in terrible condition. It would be better if the govt enforced animal welfare standards on the Amish, rather than worry about why they sell meat to.
Unfortunately many small farmers like me can’t afford to fight the state in court. We don’t have tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars required and if you loose you just ran up a bill you have no way of paying. Luckily I’m in Montana and don’t have to deal with this bs. Maybe if there was a group like the Institute for Justice, but for farmers. We might be able to fight this if we unite but on our own we’re screwed.

I disagree, large corporations in large are republican supporters mostly for reasons of less government. The 3 counties that have the voting power by numbers (liberals) control the outcome of Oregons elections. The previous and current governor are the reasons Oregon is dealing with this and many other government overreach. The largest problem, people vote on/with emotions not facts, control the masses emotions you control the masses.
No. Oregon has let the environmental activists set the agenda. They are the ones behind the dam removal project. When they are finished, the water won't be there for small farms. So, shut down the small farms now.

Oregon has lost a 1/3d of its water. Klamath Falls has lost generational farms because they overused and abused their watershed and the aquifers collapsed. The Willamette Valley is also losing its water for the same reasons of self-entitlement. Some of our best fertile soil is being paved over for Amazon warehouses, subdivisions and more and all because of what the big business lobbyists wanted. FYI ALL of which were overseen by republicans. You know, the ones that walk out if they don't get their own way.
If you really think cutting off hundreds of home from water do to deeper and deeper wells so some deep pocketed investor can water some pot, or whatever, is a good idea then OMG. I can see someone sitting at home, on a little land, sitting at the computer not even thinking "what's under there feet". Not even thinking what would happen if the water table drop below this person's well. Listen to me, if your well goes dead you're going to pay over 10k min. more like 20k may be even more. During Feudalism in Europe in the middle ages the crown used common land seizures, restriction on freedom to travel and constant rent increases to starve and displace the native inhabitants. This is why life expectancy was so low and it also provided unlimited free labour, not just for the lords of the manor but also to provide slaves for the plantations in the new colonies. Yes you read that right. The first slaves brought by the Europeans to the Caribbean and North America were destitute teenagers bound to a contract of indentured servitude by a judiciary court, often for the newly created crime of vagrancy.
I was surprised to be first acquainted with such info from a government institution, ironically. While visiting New Zealand about ten years ago, I visited the capital's premier state museum Te Papa. (Not sure what the English term is, but that's another story.) In any case, one exhibit highlighted the immigrants of the 1800's. One quoted a migrant from the UK who referred to escaping slavery in Britain. I have since researched slavery in more depth, and come to similar conclusions. I now think they are transitioning to taxation as the modern form of slavery. It has the added bonus of involving the blind consent of many of its subjects.
Could not have said it any better, thank you for posting this people need to know history and it’s quite obvious what powers that be are attempting to do yet again. That’s why they are desperate to get the guns out of law abiding homes and control and take land and food. I agree fully
It’s all about control. Control the food, control the people. Look at all the chicken, egg and food processing plants that have burned down. Controlling the water controls the farmers
Surprisingly no US Farmer is physically fighting like foreign countries farmers are in regards to their rights to farm. We need A2 COWS and meat, organic vegetables, etc.
My main concern is what this will do to food quality. Small farmers often grow food organically and sustainably. They protect their soil health through rotating crops, composting, companion planting etc..the result is much higher quality food that is far more nutrient dense. These large scale farms use all sorts of harmful products. Harmful to soil, human health and the environment. Large scale corporate farming is not the way to grow a healthy food supply. Keep it small and local.
Learn The Constitution and Bill of Rights. Learn Common Law and band together to do this. Become Common Law Lawyers and take them to task. This is how we fight back in unity!

If Oregon is restricting water usage in agriculture, maybe there should be a restriction of new housing in rural area which require new wells. Maybe.? What about water for golf courses.
no, because what if they are restricting but there' s no water shortage. It' s not about water shortage it's about forcing small farmers to pay large sums to use the water.
And what do you know about sustainable water usage, clean water, keeping water safe, how water follows trees (so plant lots of trees), where water comes from, what political agendas cattle operations, dairy operations, chicken operations, golf courses, ANY farmer and more do to destroy the watersheds, accessible water and sustainable water for all of us? Right, you know nothing. THAT is why the Gov is taking over the care of our watersheds because people are unable on their own to do the right thing.
The bottom line is whether this is big corporate farms exerting pressure on regulatory agencies to shut down small farms. Is there sufficient water for big business and small farms or not? I think that's a great idea. Grass is such a waste of space and effort. All it does is make peoples' allergies worse. Municipalities would never allow it though. I used to live in a city where my house was backed up all the way against the alley. I had no backyard so I started a veggie garden in the front yard. This is not about the rights of farmers. This is another step in the AGENDA to restrict freedom of all people. Just look at what happened in Maui last year it started with the restrictions on smaller farms. In the case of the family operated sugar cane farm behind Lahaina they restricted their water usage. The family closed down and the government took over the land. The government did not look after that land like the original owners and when the unkept vegetation became overgrown and dry a wild fire started. Then when the firefighters arrived they found the hydrants shutoff to stop people from stealing water. The hydrants were finally turned on two hours later after they found the person responsible for their management but three hours later that same person shut them off again because he said they were running out of water. To save drinking water for the town he said. Well there is not much town left because of those stupid decisions. Now these people in control all over are saying there is a water shortage and they are starting to cause man made restrictions. It is like the boiling frog scenario this has been coming for a long time. The government rules and regulations have been manipulated for years to get to this point and to uncover the end game now is going to take a lot of legal work to get rid of this crap.
We are allowing it by not being loud enough in numbers about it. This behavior is happening in quite a few states and in other industries. Land grabbing is getting alarming.
Why is it so important for gvt to shut down or forbid growing local gardens. Its not even IF grocery shelves arent amply stocked anymore. Those with private land should be able to supply produce for purchase & self sufficiency!!!
Where does Azure Standard stand on this issue? Being a large corp...yet promoting healthy food...could they be an ally in this fight for small farmers in Oregon?
They’re doing the same thing in Idaho. It’s a high water year and the Snake River is flooding but many farmers received letters telling them to immediately stop watering. They waited until they planted then without warning, cut their water usage.

The Amish are here in the USA for those very same reasons - persecuted by the "royals". Their fleeing to the US caused a famine in parts of Europe.
I was surprised to be first acquainted with such info from a government institution, ironically. While visiting New Zealand about ten years ago, I visited the capital's premier state museum Te Papa. (Not sure what the English term is, but that's another story.)

My main concern is what this will do to food quality. Small farmers often grow food organically and sustainably.

I admire your commitment Yanasa Trading, to small regenerative farms. Small permaculture farms are more productive per acre than large monoculture crops, add robust diversity and pollinator habitat, and actually CONSERVE water and build soil organic humus which increases the soil's capacity to hold water.
It would be beneficial to disincentivize industrial agriculture, lawns and golf courses too -- per the good comment below, and actually incentivize small biodynamic farms for the prosperity of future generations.
It's been like this for 40 years. It started with the logging, destroyed many good jobs. And increased the fire danger is out of control.
Yep and spotted owl. Lived there and left long ago.
@@janetwethepeople9390 its not the spotted owl, its the spotted robot. Automation in the mills by Wall Street timber companies has destroyed more jobs than the owl.
you mean reducing or banning logging.
@@theCosmicQueen Automating mill’s doesn’t reduce logging, it just reduces mill jobs
Fire danger increased with all those closely planted trees in the plantations and cutting down the big old, fire resistant trees.
I make jewelry and crafts. I used to set up at the farmers markets but they have stopped letting us. Us craftspeople are starving because people have stopped supporting us to.
More people need to start taking videos and photos sharing their tainted veggies and fruits. I moved to Mexico for part of the year in hopes of a few things. Better quality produce being one. I was almost sure they banned GMO but nope. Nothing but rubber or rotten insides with perfect exterior. We have to stop this
Edit:typo
With that being said , your actually only a part-time American .
I live in Mexico right now and the produce here is far superior to the United States. They us less pesticides and chemicals, so there may be a spot or two on your apple, but give me the birds and the bees, if you know what I’m saying.
@@down-to-earth-mystery-school how do you know they use less? since they ahve not banned a lot of horrible toxic chemicals that we did ban.
This is so outrageous! It makes my blood boil.
Who had the right to do this? No one!
This isn't just Oregon. The whole country in every aspect is going this way. Big money corporations are paying lobbyists to write the bills and the politicians are doing whatever the lobbyists pay them to do.
Love the farmers market and go as often as I can possibly go! What is the government not telling us?
Prayers for farmers & ranchers nationwide!
shut governor kotex off.
Stop voting for liberals!!!
What looks like on the surface as government ineptitude, is no more than catering to corporations and special interests in order to get re-elected and maintain power and status. You have to get these people out of office for things to change. I movedoverseas 6 years ago and now because of the terrific access to Fresh food, I feel like I'm 25 years younger.
Seems to me if you’re using a normal amount of water it’s none of their business
It’s none of gov business period.
I was 1 of the small farmers who received a notice of unordained water use last November in district 2. I had a small pumpkin patch and was only growing 0.27 acres. These clowns are out of control!
Ability to become financially independent is what they are shutting down, they only want 9 to 5 puppets.
They want to stop families from growing their own food, too. I grew a big garden and preserved it all. If they had flown over my garden they might have thought that I was a market farmer, but I was growing only for my family.
No, they can find out who is selling the crops at farmers markets, obviously. So far nobody is talking about home food gardens.
They re trying to change water rights in Idaho too.
That's big ag. Putting their greed first. They're destroying the beef, pork, and chicken, Grain and more. And now they want all fresh vegetable markets too. Greed!
I love Oregon. But I can't stand 51% of th people here.
Check out how RFK JR wants to help farmers
Why doesn't this make it into the national news?
Because OR has become a mockery with legalization of drugs, homeless camps, retail theft. People are sick of hearing more about OR legislation being stupid, and it's expected news. OR is liberal and getting worse. Can't have your cake and eat it too. If you don't like overreaching state government, than you should not be living in a liberal.state.
It boils down to allowing our public servants to DICTATE onerous rules & so called laws. They do NOT have authority of the majority of citizens, in most cases, to dictate farcical rules & laws! Citizens of EACH state & subdivision, must come together & examine the farcical rules & laws that "so called authorities" are forcing on the CITIZENRY. Public employees WORK FOR THE CITIZENRY, NOT for corporate food processors' interests. EMERGENCY VOTING is ESSENTIAL!
Lol, not the dog pooping in the back 😂 Great video. It covered a lot.
Thank you for your time on this.
We are in Wisconsin and farming has taken a sad sick turn here for corn corn corn soybeans soybeans soybeans,, poison poison poison everywhere spraying from the ground and air even all the poison so there is no weeds just frankincorn and frankinbeans so full of poison that no animal goes near.
Sick
Water rights should only be awarded to individuals or companies that employ sustainable farming practices. The rules favoring large corporations basically exclude small farms from commercial enterprise due to the costs involved. Water rights should be allocated equitably.
All you need to do is LOOK at the governor of Oregon. That image alone would tell me to either leave, or DEFINITELY not to move there.
Why would you focus on how the governor looks, rather than the policies? That’s sexist
If you have to pay for a water right, then you don't have a water right.
No one owns the water, but water rights is an effort to protect and preserve the water for future generations.
@@AllysonJFlagg ... You're free to adopt that view, but I will continue to see it as a government overreaching its proper place, trying to monitor, manage, and then exploit rights and resources that belong to people.
@@AllysonJFlagg This issue isn't about protecting water . it is about getting huge fees from small farmers who can't afford them. but rich corporate ones can.
The most important and healthy investment in our future is to have many small farms throughout our country. To rely upon on large corporate farms is risky in respect to potential pestilence that can wipe out large crops. Its safer to have many small and diverse farms in n out very state.
By the way I did see your dog fertilizing your lawn more n the background early in your awesome discussion. Thank you for getting the word out on whats going on in Oregon!
Your dog was showing us what he thinks of Oregon.
Yup
I’ll bet the pot farms aren’t being shut down. Obviously much more important than healthy food…….
First of all, we need to go back to in-person voting to rule out voting fraud. Can we get a measure started in hopes of returning to walk-in voting?
Only 20% of the registered voters turn in a ballot... So what's the point.
Mail in voting has never been a problem, that’s a manufactured Faux News talking point
@@JP-uk9uc What a stupid thing to say. " why vote since the dumbest ones don't? " REALLY? YOU SOUN D LIKE ONE OF THEM.
It’s not just farms, it’s all small business that is under attack. Control the food, and you control the people. So that’s high priority.
That report from Univeristy of Michigan if you read into it a little bit is amortizing in the “carbon cost” of materials for infrastructure over a short time frame to get that measurement.
I haven’t dig into it as far as I would like, but I imagine they are also not factoring in damage that occurs from industrialized monoculture in the report either. I expect that they are also not factoring in the storage of carbon in the soil coming from typically more healthy management from market/urban gardens.
As with most things in America…FOLLOW THE MONEY TRAIL. I guarantee corporations have lobbied and paid off legislators to restrict water to homeowners. And this goes across BOTH parties.
Big time government overreach
Keep up the good information campaign. This is criminal. Thank you for your work.
