Normally I don’t write comments, but I gotta take this one ;)
I‘m from Germany, and live near the place where PON is made. I grow all, and I really mean ALL of my Plants in PON (Nepenthes, Anthurium, Philodendron, Calathea, Orchids, my Thais, Rosmarin, Lavender, my Acer Japonicum, just everything). Here we have several different mixtures (like for Orchids, even one PON Version without any fertilizer which I need for my all nepenthes) and I also combine them with the Lechuza self watering pots. Yes, they are a bit expensive, but they are really well made and from good quality.
I always rinse the fresh planted plants good with water, so all the loose dust and everything from production gets washed out until the water is clear. You will always have a little sediment at the bottom of the pot, but it doesn’t harm the plant.
Here in Germany, due to the different weather and climate, when you first plant anything in PON, its normal that at first the top layer of the soil will develope some kind of „white layer“. Nothing to worry about, it looks like a fungus but its due to the minerals which get washed out from the PON. I always just take a stick, and mix the top layer, and after some weeks it will just go away.
Hope your plants will do as good as mine do, and thx for your vids 😊

Hi! Thanks so much for weighing in with your expertise on Pon! It 💯 looks like I'm going to be following suit as far as putting EVERYTHING into Pon- it's been a satisfying journey so far. I hadn't thought of the Nepenthes, but that totally makes sense.
Can't wait to give that a try. Cheers! 🌱😁

@@EnchantedPlantQueenmost important for nepenthes is that the pon is without any fertilizer.
I always use Osmose water which I add 1 drop of orchid fertilizer, works perfectly for all my nepenthes.

Where were you able to find Pon? How? I wanted to try Pon for some plants. I couldn’t find it, anywhere. Including direct from Lechuza. I bought a knock off from Amazon.
And I hate all self-watering containers. They are ugly.

Hi Amy! I got the Pon off of the Lechuza website. I guess I got lucky and it was miraculously in stock...it looks like they have it available now. I put a link in the description for Amazon where I also found it available. AND i too bought an Amazon knock off which seems to be working just as well as the designer stuff👍🏻 I like to use a diluted liquid fertilizer anyway so it's fine that the knock off doesn't have it mixed in. Good luck on your Pon quest!
