Thanks for showing the removal of that small memory lock on the roll axis for the Crane M2. That was exactly what I needed to balance the phone with filters attached. Now it's just right!

Hey Mr. Simon! I've been following your videos, and I have observed that they've slowly turned to the direction of particular products. Like gimbals and phones, and comparisons. I really loved the videos on filmmaking, rather than products, and would be very happy to see them return. Much like the "cinematic" video...
true observation i love these videos too but filmaking videos are more universal that will probably get more views and will make the channel better ... though I can understand that he did too much topics that he can do on filmmaking he is prob struggling on finding new ideas .idk we r filmmakers we r creative :)
I hear you. Actually the "cinematic" video really didn't get many views. One of the worst performing on this channel. I may have to create a channel specifically for more general filmmaking videos. I've been thinking about doing this. Just a matter of when. 😊

Thank you for covering this, great video! I noticed on another channel that was using moment lens plus a ND filter, they balanced it on the Crane M2 without having to implement any extra steps. Not sure why there’s conflicting information about this.
You're welcome! Which phone did they use? I think with a smaller phone it would be ok without extra measures

Thank you for a wonderful video! I have a question: did you ever get the REC and ZOOM buttons to work properly with the gimbal? I am using iPhone 7s, devices are connected, however, are not "talking" to each other. Meaning - I can not start/end recording with the button on the gimbal.

Why is more difficult to balance than the smaller gimbal - surely its more powerful.
The ZY Play App explore all features that camera can do? All framerates and resolutions?
How well would this gimbal work with a camera plugged into a hdmi cable?
Would I be able to make the Zhiyun Smooth 4 3-axis gimbal balance an iPhone 11 with the Moment Lenses+ND Filter if I add enough counter balances???
In terms of stabilization, which one you find does a better job? The Crane M2 or the Smooth 5? I shoot with iPhone 12 PM, Moment thin case + lens + filter adaptor + 2 lenses. Full pack. Doubting between these two gimbals for payload reasons. However, it would be very helpful to know how they compare in stabilization, and subject/object tracking. Many thanks! Keep it up

Maybe you can you tell me pls, what is the official supported smartphone width maximum? I can't find it listed anywhere, and with my Mi 10t Pro with 76mm width, I'm not sure if I should risk it.
I always turn to your videos for an endless list of reasons but am thoroughly confused in this gimbal arena. I’ve never owned a gimbal but would like to start filming more on my iPhone 13 pro. I also have a moment anamorphic with an ND filter and a small rig cage/case.. thing is, I know there’s no perfect gimbal to accommodate a heavy smartphone setup but is there one that stands out to you that exceeds the others?!I was torn between the Zhiyun Crane 2 (which I know is probably overkill for an iPhone setup but I plan to get a Sony DSLR in the near future as well) , Zhiyun Crane v2, Feiyutech G6 plus and G6 max… I’m just all over the place now and cannot for the life of me make a decision. Any guidance from you (or anyone else) is so appreciated!! Love your videos so much Simon! They’ve inspired me to explore mobile videography and have given me the boost of confidence I needed! The Smooth 5 is great. I'll have the Crane M3 review out in a few days 😁 I would choose the Smooth 5 over the M2

I went and watched your Smooth 5 review again and although I was worried about the max payload at 300g (on paper), I saw you pushed the weight a bit on that one and had a similar setup as I do, along with your recommendation… I gotta say, the only thing stopping me now from buying the Smooth 5 is your upcoming review of the M3, which I’m super excited for! Thank you again for taking the time to help me! Lots of stress releasing right now as I can stop researching and just relax and plan my shots now!
Idk if anyone is going to answer this but can I use the zoom in zoom out function to control my phone camera using the gimbal outside of the zhiyun app? Or do I have to be using the app to do this

hi there. I believe you will need a clamp which can twist 90 degrees or hold the gimbal at 90 degrees.
Thanks, that was another great walkthrough. I've been tossing up getting this or the DJI OM4. The Crane M2 is slightly in the lead at the moment because can also be used for my mirrorless camera. Any idea how this performs with FilmicPro and/or Protake?

In the "old" ZY Play App, if you touch the 2nd Icon from the top, on the right handside, the one that looks like a camera with a line thru its lens and switch it's mode, the Iphone camera is activated.

i know this is a dslr focused question on a phone channel but can this gimble be used with a canon sl3 or some little dslr cuz i found this gimble on the cheaper side
works ok with lighter cameras, but I don't have a DSLR so I can't test it

Where did you get the plastic grip for your iphone 12 promax? I've been looking all over and cant find the right one. The clamp that comes with the Gimbal is just a little too small and wont fit my phone with the moment case on, which is what I need to attach my lenses.

It will not fit to Crane m2's arm right away, the clamp is 2-3mm wider so i wrap tape around the arm and it works fine. If you put your filter with Moment lens, you might need 2 sets of counterweight cos 1 isnt enough, i already tried with 58mm lens and 67 nvd filter.

Hello ! I have crane m2 and Sony 100 rx iv camera. Alrhough i manage to connect my crane to the wi fi it cannot recognise the camera. That means that i cannot use the zoom function and the start/stop video!!! Please tell me how i solve this great problem!

With my Note 10 Plus ( Samsung ) I'm having a lot of problems. videos with crashes, disconnection with bluetooth, this is disappointing
the m2 phone older is not deep enough for any phone with a UAG heavy case. no fun to take it out to use the gimbal. Why not deeper fingers as an option.
BEWARE! We've tried connecting the Crane M2 to a Sony ZV-1, via 3 different iPhones. None work. All firmware is up to date etc. Works ok with a Samsung phone. Very poor all round.

If I can’t get mine to work properly it’s going straight back. I wish I’d read some reviews first. Why does the ZY Play app have so much negativity? Not impressed.
WHAT A WASTE OF TIME., for phone get the OSMO mobile. A litlte over $100. Then use this gimbal for cameras. Better than these instructions which feel like passing a camel through a needle.
