We'll be kicking off our Endwalker adventure on the 16th of June (2023, just in case you're watching this in the future) over on Twitch! I'll be uploading more Shadowbringers moments to UA-cam soon, including the rest of 5.3, the Eden raids, theorycrafting for Endwalker and more. Thanks for watching & enjoying the content!
Man, look at Andy being proficient in Eorzean font with being able to recognise Thavnier and Old Sharleyan and immediately homing onto Estinien's dialogue! The journey pays off!
5.4 was pretty bad tho. It felt at the same time rushed and empty. The solution to the tempering problem was really really rushed, and solved using a deus ex machina AND it also hadthe fake drama of "oh no the pc burned before we could get the formula" but Raha saw it and remembered with his photographic memory. The Admiral stuff felt really rushed and had no real impact, sadly.
@@vaidenkelsier7757 Well, I personally felt horrible about it. Specially since I thought 5.3 was the perfect ending, we could forget about the empire and I would be satisfied. I came back for 5.4 and I felt regret coming back for that
@@lucasm4790 It's much less rushed than you expect. The Tempering problem has been touched upon since 2.0, And in universe been researched since the days of Allag. The way they even get as close to the solution as they did with really unknown about of computer processing power running millions of simulations, was because they had that Allagan knowledge, which was gained thanks to G'raha's heritage, which was fully established and linked since 2.5, And his cunning penchant for memory and sight since the Labyrinth of the Ancients was released. Heck they even referenced his first scene meeting the WoL. The Fake Drama may not fly as drama, but it is a very important scene, as it explains that they cannot simply boot back up the simulations with more cooling and more computers. All they had was burnt out and exploded (The problem of running your computers on Jet Fuel, I suppose), taking all the information from the simulations with it. Meaning, while they can cure Tempering, they can't refine the technique to be less draining, they didn't have a means to mass produce a cure, and it couldn't cure advanced causes of Tempering that change a a person's physical body. So it now makes Curing Tempering a possibility, but not always likely (Which was immediately addressed with Tiamat, they didn't know if it could work on her because of how strong she is), and is shown in the same patch to wind four people (Alisae, Alphinaud, G'raha and the WoL) just to cure one Kobold (the 2nd Order Patriarch). The Admiral stuff had also been on the back burner similarly to the Primal Problem. If you start in LImsa Lominsa, you see just how unstable it is due to Primal Activity and how the former pirates were struggling to become farmers. After Leviathan, Y'shtola damns the Admiral for her part in the Lominsans breaking their treaty with the Kobolds in the first place, and the Rogues Guild Questline shows you that the Bloody Executioners aren't as behind the Galadion Accords as the other two Great Pirate Powers of Limsa, with a splinter cell trying to blow up the central spire of Limsa because they disagree with her actions. And in the Kobold Questline, you help the group of Kobolds who are helping Merlwyb start those peace talks. All of that was just 2.0 and 2.X patch content, and that's not getting into the side content where we learn Merlwyb's two guns names, how she dualed with Mistbeard until it shattered a ship, or how Mistbeard didn't die when he faded into legend, he just became Merlwyb's right hand man. The information is there, Just because you didn't look for it doesn't mean it's rushed and empty. 5.4 was the literal best powderkeg kickstart to Endwalker. Tying up in a neat bow several issues, and making a new path through old territory which is again repeated in 5.5, when you head through Pagl'than to save the Amalj'aa with your new Kobold Allies helping to clear the paths, remaking bridges once burnt by the men of Eorzea (Which we learned in 6.25 with the release of the Sil'dihn Subterrane, showing us that the Amalj'aa used to be on such good terms with SIl'dah, that The royal family's vault is built right next to an Amalj'aa Hero's grave). Tl;DR: You literally can't say the plot is rushed without a foot in your mouth, when everything in the 5.4 patch are all plot threads started back in 2.0 or prior, nearly 9 years prior to the Release date of 5.4.
I think the only thing that those of us that watched these trailers "brand new" experienced significantly different than newer players is the "What the Gundam?!" moment of the Sage reveal. Alphinaud's use of the nouloths was the first any of us had seen of the class even before we had been given its name.
Yup. Also Zenos picking up the scythe. That shot was gone entirely in the original teaser trailer, but once Reaper was announced everyone guessed that Zenos would become one and then it was confirmed when this trailer dropped before the cutscene in 5.5 where he declared he "needed a new weapon".
@@smward87 The fun of going bingeing on reactions is you can tell who was watching the Fan Fest reveal and who is watching after the fact because when the swipe of the chair to Thancred happens, people watching the Fan Fest version WIG OUT and scream "SHOW US THE WEAPON!!!" or "THAT LOOKS LIKE A SCYTHE!!!" because we didn't know until they opened Fan Fest with the full trailer and then we had a name to go with the weapon afterwards when Yoshi P and Koji told us what the class would be called.
Endwalker’s trailer is truly the Avengers of FFXIV trailers. The callbacks in the music, all the main cast that you’ve gotten to know, the world ending scenario. If you know what’s going on it’s incredibly hype.

Nice to see someone catching the name of the Dragon on their first view. SO many people ignored/didn't notice back when it was new, and were calling it Tiamat.
I've been "lurking" watching your progress through these videos, as well as watching a few EW trailer reaction videos recently. I've got to say, yours was the most authentic, exciting reaction I've seen. I love that you read into the lore, pick up the relevant points and truly understand it all. Thank you!
That's very sweet of you to say! Going into Endwalker has me feeling *a lot* of emotions. FFXIV is not only one of the best games I've ever played, but the journey, sharing it with all of you, has made it all the more special. I'll cherish the memories of playing this game and going on these adventures with the community for many, many years to come.

same. the final part where WoL strikes a pose after killing the First Beast with the planet behind him and the music swelling just makes me tear up everytime.
The song hits way too hard too. The singer for (a lot of the song, but mainly) the part where AsaDaniel is taking the elevator is really goddamn good too, he is the newest Vocalist for Architects. That dude’s part hits hardest for me.
My favorite part of this trailer is at 4:57 when Yshtola confidently walk away directly into a table, according to the previous overhead view. This is to remind players that she is still blind.
Remember, whenever you hear their respective leitmotif, you gotta scream-sing "ON WINGS OF HOPE YOU RISE UP THROUGH THE NIGHT, HIGHER!!!!!!!!! OH HIGHER!!!!!!!!" and "TALES OF LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSS AND FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE AND FAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITH". It's the law, you know

It is always so nice to see a pure reaction to Endwalker. When Endwalker was announced I had holidays for 3 weeks and I did never regret to play every whole dayto get to the end of Endwalker when it was 3 days out. FF14 was such an experience for me. Question/suggestion: is there any way for you (or whoever posts first) to start a "spoiler thread" where we can talk about your reaction to stuff that is expanded on in the future? Example: "spoilers go here" reply: "oh no he's getting attached to haurchefant!" I dont know what notifications look like as a content creator for comments, so I wanted to check with you first.
Great suggestion! I do only get notified of new comments that aren’t responses, unless those responses are to me. I can have a channel moderator post a “spoiler thread” moving forwards :)
@@EndyD20 yes I figured. That trailer is a LOT to take in. I was freaking out about finally getting to see the twins in a cinematic that I didn’t even realize until half way through
Would it be possible to upload your VODs in UA-cam? I do not watch anything on Twitch, but would like to watch your reactions from your UA-cam channel. If not, it is ok. I will just watch whatever you upload in UA-cam. Thanks.
as a part of Endwalker new features you gain +1 damage and +1 health for every malm you walk while an MSQ quest is active dont miss on that free damage
One thing I wish streamers did was tryhing to emulate the experience of the cinematics/trailers. That is: we got the teaser (the one without the lyrics and without revealing Zenos' weapon) for the trailer around patch 5.5 and then we get the full trailer right before the 5.55. Basically we went into the final final patch knowing Zenos's weapon and that the moon would be important. This is why for me the final shot looking to the moon doesn't make sense if you didn't know about us going to the moon.
I’ve had theories regarding a trip to the moon since we first hear Zodiark is “moon bound”, so that shot at the end of 5.55 sent a chill up my spine, but I totally get where you’re coming from.

Question/suggestion: is there any way for you (or whoever posts first) to start a "spoiler thread" where we can talk about your reaction to stuff that is expanded on in the future? Example: "spoilers go here" reply: "oh no he's getting attached to haurchefant!"
I dont know what notifications look like as a content creator for comments, so I wanted to check with you first.
Great suggestion! I do only get notified of new comments that aren’t responses, unless those responses are to me. I can have a channel moderator post a “spoiler thread” moving forwards :)
I’m honestly very surprised you didn’t say anything about who was narrating the trailer 👀
OBJECTION, LEADING
I honestly didn’t notice on first viewing because the visuals were taking up 99% of my attention, but I did catch it on my second watch!
@@EndyD20 yes I figured. That trailer is a LOT to take in. I was freaking out about finally getting to see the twins in a cinematic that I didn’t even realize until half way through
@@MaydaTiger guilty 😳
Forge Ahead.
I just recently found this channel, but I super can't wait for you to experience -bzzt- and talk to -bzzt- and fight -bzzt-
Walk on
Would it be possible to upload your VODs in UA-cam? I do not watch anything on Twitch, but would like to watch your reactions from your UA-cam channel. If not, it is ok. I will just watch whatever you upload in UA-cam. Thanks.

They REALLY fucked up sound balance in this trailer. Some lines are unhearable.
