What’s up guys its Ollie from History Profiles, and today I will be speaking about 3 brave warriors who stared death in the face and fought on knowing it would be the end for them. They faced entire armies alone and their last stands have gone down in legend.
"It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed"
- Theodore Roosevelt
"Why buy a big mac when you can buy a double big mac"
-Theodore Roosevelt
Great Quote! Thank you so much for watching!
Correct!

I love the respect and admiration I hear in your voice as you tell these profiles. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!! Your comment really means a lot !
We need these brave warriors today to deliver us from this insanity.
I agree Ayape! They don't make men like that anymore
I believe that men like these appear during true times of strife. They are still out there most likely. They just do not know it yet.
@@joyconboyzforever8117 exactly there are plenty of displays of similar valor in modern combat just read the stories of anyone who’s earned a Medal of Honor or Purple Heart. What are we being delivered from btw? 😂
I agree, but.... what if the warrior is an autocratic narcissist who doesn't care how many follow him to their deaths while he plans to walk away from Last Stand Hill? (I'm referring to Custer, of course. No politics here...)
Become one
One man against an army? Sounds like a regular Tuesday for a Gurkha.
I've heard each of these stories countless times and they never get old. Every time I see them mentioned, I listen all over again.
Those are some badass warriors right there
The Viking beserker reminds me of Druss the Legend from the David Gemell books
Magnificent video! He was a great warrior of his time! Awesome narration and amazing background music. Thank you Ollie. I loved it!
Love those Viking history. Will be back to listen more of your videos; they are great and enjoyable! Thank you. I'll be off of You Tube from tomorrow, will be back on the 27th. Health issues. I apologize in advance for being later to your next week upload. Great work Ollie, always! Thank you. Take care
Thank you so much for watching ELKE! Your comment really means a lot to me!

No mention! Always a pleasure! See you later
We all have our lasts stands in life, sometimes they come long before the actual end. There's something immeasurably inspirational about saying 'This is my battle on Earth. If this is where I shall fall, this is where I shall lay claim to life itself.'
Thanks Ollie! I feel I’ve learned so much from you than I did in my history classes😊✅
Thank you so much Donna! I really do try to tell interesting stories from long ago!
Always the very best narrations of history!! Thanks so much for providing the inspiration we can learn from our world’s history
The lonely berserker´s name was Hobrid. People heard him shout "hold the bridge, hold the bridge, hold bridge, hobridge, hobrid, hobrid" to himself as he slaughtered the Englishmen. It is known.
This is a very inspiring video. I love to hear tales of amazing feats of bravery from long ago.
The Crime Reel sent me here and I loved the video. You now have a new sub.
Ditto! 😅
I've been a sub for a while, but today I must thank Crime Reel for sending me to this video!

Horratius "captain of the gate" was always my favourite. "How can man die better when facing fearful odds? Then for the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his gods." Beautiful.

The Battle of Camaron.
Will have to do a separate video on that! Thank you for watching!
Where Do You Find Those Stories? I Don't Know If Those Stories Were True, Or Exaggerated Tales Told Over Time. Either Way, They Were Compelling In Being Told. As Always I Enjoyed It, Except The Ending (Which Was Tragic).
For a few moments facing down an entire army must by a hell of a drug.
Honestly that's the time to fear your opponent they know they're going to die but they're gonna take as many of you as they can with them before that happens. Such a spiteful and stoic thing and it's fucking awesome.
I wondered who would win if you put those warriors in a Gladiator arena
Its hard to say! All 3 were masters in combat and killed so many in their land stands and probably so many more before that! I honestly have no idea!
👍👍👍👍👍👍🎬📽
Berserker!
The Greatest Warriors brutal last Stand China, Rome.
Thank you so much for watching!! What was the name of this last stand im interested
@@historyprofiles A Roman Praetorian Guard who died fighting a Mutiny by entire legions to protect the Deputy Consul of Rome, A Chinese General who died fighting a entire Army and killed several Soldiers on the battlefield, I cannot remember actual names right now, research still needs to be done as there are more examples like that around the Ancient world.
I wish you knew why Zhang Xiu attack Cao Cao after Zhang Xiu surrender, In the end Zhang Xiu served Cao Cao and Cao Cao never blame him for what happened earlier
Maybe the drive to protect what's behind is more powerful than destroying what's infront
In the conquering the American West, the last stand of General George Custer of whom sorely underestimated the determination of the Plain Indians in the battle of Little Big Horn.
If you're going to go out, go out like a man.
Thomas Dicson
Thomas the first Dickson is how I found his story. Btw
I mean, I'm sure all this happened, however, it has been greatly exaggerated.
In 1836 only 183 Texans held up the Mexican army off 7.000 men under the command of Gen. Santa Anna for 17 days in the battle of the monastery of Alamo giving Ge. Houston enough time to setup an army and finally defeat the mexicans.....classic
other famous last man standings under
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_last_stands
Battle of chamkaur
Left out the Swiss Guard in 1527
Genghis Khan is among them!
I need to do a video on him!
One comes to mind but fictional at that, Garrus Vakarian from Mass Effect 2 game when he as an "archangel" is keeping the bridge with his sniper rifle from the 3 gang's who are sending freelancers to save they're own men while wearing the Turian out. It is always the bridge :) This was not a last stand thanks to Commander Shepard ofc :)
I think its pronounced "Tsao Tsao", not "Tao Tao", as it's written as Cao Cao.
The Viking one didn't happen. There's several theories about Harald and the bridge and the lone Viking is one of them. There's no proof it ever happened other than 1 account against several.
Horatius Cocles , Ancient Roman.
