The funny thing is, in the Phantom of the Opera musical where this song is from they don't actually sing the last note for real, but instead play back and lipsync. Hi, great reaction video I have total respect and appreciation for both Tarja (Tarya in English) and Floor, they are incredibly talented singers, even Anette Olzon has a good voice but couldn't do the classical thing, a good pop voice.
Just to add to some others talking about Tarja being classically trained. Many metal vocalists are actually classically trained, so whenever people say things like: 'oh metal is just screams/grunts/growls and they can't sing', it is just funny to me. Also check out Jarkko Ahola from Terasbetoni, he is also from Finland and classically trained, he covered Nessun dorma. Or the band Northern Kings, which Marko is also a member of, with 2 other great vocalists, who cover popular non metal songs and add a metal flair to it.

Sadly Tarja and Marko are no longer in Nightwish. What an amazing vocal pairing they are. I hope they'll share the stage at some time in the future featuring some new projects from their solo careers. Their interplay is truly magical.
@@rosswhite5975 Yep, hopefully they will sing something also together (I would be surprised if not) since the stages are the same but in different times, two different bands.
Tarja, the first vocalist was amazing and very operatic in a classical vocal style. Floor's version was a little more like the original in a musical theater vocal style. Also quite AMAZING.
When Nightwish had Tarja, they had a duality that they lost when she left. That duality being the combining of opera and metal. Floor can sing operatically but for some reason it's not written into the music any more in my opinion. I will forever be part of the Tarja army.
LOVE THIS BAND! You guys might want to check out Epica. I think you'll be impressed. Also Extreme has released a new album. The track called Rise has an insane guitar solo. Love what you're doing!
many call 'The Phantom' an opera....actually it's an Andrew L. Webber stage musical.......doesn't matter, the story & music are beautiful.......Tarja's operatic training really shows
Both singers are phenomenal!!! But Phantom of the opera itself is not an opera. It’s a musical. So the song is nothing like classic opera. I looove this version so much 😍
She's the original singer and most people's fave their definitive sound where the albums Oceanborn Wishmaster Century Child and Once with her doing full on opera for every song Marko joined from Century Child on Anette the second singer is my second fave era along with Tarja cos the 2 albums they did with her are just about as good as the Tarja era albums even tho Floor has the most varied voice they dont use it enough ie she can growl and do opera they barely ever let her its mainly just her normal rock voice as well as theyre the lightest albums not as epic and classical either
This is Tarja, the first singer, her voice is higher by default. She and current NW singer Floor Jansen are friends (Tarja being fired notwithstanding). Both Tarja and Floor are classically trained.
This was the last concert of the tour and Tarja is fired right after. Two years earlier there were rumors about artistic and private differences. Tarja established opera singing in metal with Nightwish and then remained successful as a solo artist: Tarja Shadow Play live Circus Life version Tarja's vocal problems can be heard at the beginning of the song. It's a musical and it starts with a pop voice. Tarja immediately goes to the opera section because she can't do it any other way. Floor's Nightwish version is closer to the original. Marko and his rocker voice sound completely different from the original. The phantom is an opera fan and logically sings opera. Marko is not an opera fan here, but an evil manipulator. This phantom makes this Nightwish version unique.
Tarja was a founder member of Nightwish without her there would be no genre of symphonic metal music and for that matter no success for the band. Marko & Tarja are special performing phantom of the opera.
🇫🇮❤ Just for comparison, you might also react to this same song with Floor Jansen on female vocals: Nightwish - The Phantom Of The Opera (ft. Henk Poort) (LIVE) ( ua-cam.com/video/TM23gaT4zkY/v-deo.html )
As per the usual you need to watch the 2022 Nightwish version with Floor and Henk Poort at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Although also heavy its closer to the original. Its difficult to choose one or the other
This is the true Nightwish and her era were their best years (in part because Tuomas was in his creative prime). Sadly Floor, a great singer, joined as the material started to really go downhill. Her two albums are their worst
Also you need ro hear Floor Jansen singing Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort at Beste Zangers, and also a live concert where Floor and Henk sing with Nightwish, actually Henk is the original singer Tarja is one of the greatest singers there is no doubt, but she only sings opera style, after the diva attitude Tarja was expelled from Nightwish and they got Anette Olson who has a beautiful voice but is softer mor Abba style kind of singer more pop, but she had health problems and that is when they’ve got Floor who has the operatic style, angelic style, metal style, she can growl, so, Floor is more versatile, she can change styles, have a great stage presence a super powerful voice, si she can sings everything between Tarja and Anette. Floor was the singer of the disbanded band named After Forever, and then she formed Revamp and after she became Anette’s replacement until Anette was sick, and Nightwish called Floor and and ask her if she wanted to be the lead singer, so Floor flew from Europe to the US and she had to learn the playlist in 48 hours, there is a documentary about it which is great and interesting, also before Floor they had the help from Alissa White-Gluz another great singer but she mostly Growl, and at one concert they ask the audience to choose if they wanted to postponed the concert or doing it with Alissa, but she will be reading the lyrics, and the audience love Nightwish that much that Alissa was the singer and the concert went great. Floor has been the perfect match for Nightwish, but there is no doubt the best symphonic metal singers are Floor, Tarja and Simone Simons from Epica and there is other magnificent singers like Anneke Van Giersbergen and others
Andrew Lloyd Webber, the composer has said that this is his favourite cover of this song.
He also said that Henk Poort was his favorite Phantom.
Wow, that's high praise!

LOVE THIS BAND! You guys might want to check out Epica. I think you'll be impressed. Also Extreme has released a new album. The track called Rise has an insane guitar solo. Love what you're doing!
No one does Phantom like Marko. He’s a vocal god.
Those crazy Vikings...
its Tar-ya ...Tarja Turunen its a great song by Nightwish, Floors version is epic also at the Ziggodome in Amsterdam 2022
Every time I watch/listen this I have goosebumps til inside my ass, right now included 🥶😱😱
It's an art, not a competition
Tarja is Nightwish for me... no one else can match it
you not a nightwish fan , but a tarja fan , tuomas is nightwish
@@fredverkerk838 Nightwish wouldn't be a metal band if it weren't for Tarja and his voice, so Nightwish was also Tarja Turunem.
Big 👍🏻
many call 'The Phantom' an opera....actually it's an Andrew L. Webber stage musical.......doesn't matter, the story & music are beautiful.......Tarja's operatic training really shows
In spite of the title “phantom of the opera” is not an opera it is musical theatre.
TARJA! MARKOOO 👍🤘🤘🤘😊💗
Tarja4Evr 🙏🥂❤️
Both singers are phenomenal!!! But Phantom of the opera itself is not an opera. It’s a musical. So the song is nothing like classic opera. I looove this version so much 😍
Look "Walking in the Air" with Tarja live
She's the original singer and most people's fave their definitive sound where the albums Oceanborn Wishmaster Century Child and Once with her doing full on opera for every song Marko joined from Century Child on
Anette the second singer is my second fave era along with Tarja cos the 2 albums they did with her are just about as good as the Tarja era albums even tho Floor has the most varied voice they dont use it enough ie she can growl and do opera they barely ever let her its mainly just her normal rock voice as well as theyre the lightest albums not as epic and classical either
This is Tarja, the first singer, her voice is higher by default. She and current NW singer Floor Jansen are friends (Tarja being fired notwithstanding). Both Tarja and Floor are classically trained.
Tarja turunen . Queen
This was the last concert of the tour and Tarja is fired right after. Two years earlier there were rumors about artistic and private differences. Tarja established opera singing in metal with Nightwish and then remained successful as a solo artist:
Tarja Shadow Play live Circus Life version
Tarja's vocal problems can be heard at the beginning of the song.
Floor is ok but none is a patch on Tarja...... Tarja is a trained opera singer and mezzo soprano so this is right for her
And who is that at the end shredding on his axe like mad?!
Tarja Turunen the best!! Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷
Tarja!!!!! My Godess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tarja Turunen ❤❤❤
Tarja was a founder member of Nightwish without her there would be no genre of symphonic metal music and for that matter no success for the band.
Marko & Tarja are special performing phantom of the opera.
How did you guys find each other on this Planet? Two dreamers who don't know what "Phantom of the opera" is?
🇫🇮❤ Just for comparison, you might also react to this same song with Floor Jansen on female vocals: Nightwish - The Phantom Of The Opera (ft. Henk Poort) (LIVE) ( ua-cam.com/video/TM23gaT4zkY/v-deo.html )
🤢
As per the usual you need to watch the 2022 Nightwish version with Floor and Henk Poort at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Although also heavy its closer to the original. Its difficult to choose one or the other
This is NOT opera. It is musical theatre
This is the true Nightwish and her era were their best years (in part because Tuomas was in his creative prime).
Sadly Floor, a great singer, joined as the material started to really go downhill. Her two albums are their worst
you dont now wacken 2013 , best concert ever
Also you need ro hear Floor Jansen singing Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort at Beste Zangers, and also a live concert where Floor and Henk sing with Nightwish, actually Henk is the original singer
Tarja is one of the greatest singers there is no doubt, but she only sings opera style, after the diva attitude Tarja was expelled from Nightwish and they got Anette Olson who has a beautiful voice but is softer mor Abba style kind of singer more pop, but she had health problems and that is when they’ve got Floor who has the operatic style, angelic style, metal style, she can growl, so, Floor is more versatile, she can change styles, have a great stage presence a super powerful voice, si she can sings everything between Tarja and Anette.
Tarja forever
❤❤❤❤❤
