Trent, I am 87, have never been a pilot (and obviously won’t become one now😏) but I’m thoroughly enjoying your videos, and adventures. Thank you.
George McCaig ...please join SocialFlight on You Tube! We'll get you in the air if you're in the U.
S. !!! We'll all help you fly if you wanna go up! Heck, I'll go up in anything (except the Ford Tri-motor) sorry guys... You may not be PIC, but you'll be flying! My 92 yr. neighbor goes open door Huey chopper flying with us! 💖
ann nonymous Thanks for the offer, but I am a Canadian, where it is starting to get cold🌬🌬👴🏻
George McCaig... I believe SocialFlight is worldwide...plus U can watch a plane being built in his dining room & living room. hahaha! (our kind of people) I'm just south of you a bit...freezing alot! We'll dream of flying a lot this coming summer...but check for events near your area! Best Wishes! 💗
Sorry if I'm hitting a sore subject here. I wanted to be a pilot when I was a kid. Life happens things got in the way, I even let people talk me out of it. After meeting a real flight instructor in a VR flight simulator who encourage me to pursue my dream I've gone all-in.
You may have some limitations because of your age. But it's not too late to get in the air. Find a flying Club close to you and ask for a discovery flight. As long as you have a safety pilot most of the them will let you take the controls for a while.
Live the dream. I'm trying my best to do the same.
@@additive8924 I am now 91, and would never pass a flight physical. I just enjoy the flying vicariously through the videos.
Trent, I’m an “armchair” pilot wannabe. After flying Flight Simulator on my PC for years, my wife rented me one hour in the pilot seat of a WWII Texas T6 Trainer up here in Minnesota 20 years ago. A dream come true for me! It was euphoric! After that, simulator flying lost its appeal for me - I guess because no simulator software could ever compare to that flight. I flew a real WWII plane! I even had to strap on a real parachute! Not a day goes by without me thinking of that day. Recently found your channel on UA-cam and now I fly vicariously through you. I really enjoy your delivery on these videos. Excellent stuff! Thank you for giving me back some flying fun. Keep flying! I’ll keep watching!
You have worked really hard making all these videos. As being a unoffical spokesman for kitfox, you are the single reason I will be buying my fox
That's why they give him the cool stuff! So he can show us and we want to buy it haha
It works
@@CowboyDRT it really does. I've hated flying my entire life and my grandpa killed himself flying a bush plane (in a snow storm), but watching these videos still makes me want to give it a try
2 Months from now:
"Alright guys it is finally time to start operation DRACO killer! We're putting a brand new PT6 Turboprop on the Freedom Fox!"
After that 2nd place finish in stol drags, he might be inspired lol
I would die if he actually did that😂
LMAO
So would the airframe.
LOL!
You got me into flying dude, your videos have been so awesome I went straight to the nearest aeroclub and started learning how to fly for a month now. Thank you for that! Cheers from France!
4:55 This is approaching a Mike Patey level of work ethic :-)
Wow, the Freedom Fox will be virtually a new airplane ! Crazy cool upgrades front to back. Your friends and support group are off the chart and ya know what, couldn’t happen to a better guy. Thanks Trent for sharing your story. It’s been a blast !
I loved the little assembly montage at 2 minutes.
You won't know yourself when it's all wrapped up and done. Love the carbon fiber upgrades.
Awesome job to everyone on the project. You can tell Nick that I just dubbed him his new call sign. With those classes that he wears he is now known as the MAD DOCTOR.
That carbon cowlings are gorgeous! Work of art!!!
Nice update Trent. You can tell how excited you are about it. It is really nice to see Kitfox coming in and helping out and working with on this one. I feel like that is what GA is all about. Friends helping friends, and making new ones in the process! So if you are reading this Kitfox, legends! Good luck on getting it all buttoned up guys!
What an awesome group of nuts to work with! What a blast!
sooo jealous.... I've been looking through the Kitfox catalog contemplating pulling the trigger haha. I might wait till they have that carbon stuff!
OMG Trent,,,,,,, !!!!!
Way to go buddy.
I / we , all your followers were oh so curious as to your progress!!
Thanks man for the short but sweet update!!
I bet you and your crew have been drinking coffee by the fricken gallons!!! Lots of long hours involved as well as trying to fit some kind of family time in there as well!!
It is a God send to have a understanding bride for sure!!
Good luck my friend with all involved!!
As always Trent;
Fly Low,,, Fly Safe,,,
G-Man
Thanks for the update Trent. Can't wait to see the Freedom Fox back in the air with all the new upgrades!
Great time with friends and planes....what else can you ask for? Keep up the work Trent, almost there!
Trent seeing these upgrades to the Freedom Fox are making me want to upgrade my nonexistent kitfox into a real kitfox! Thanks for taking a break to update us. Keep at it! You got this!
Trent, your videos (and some from the other Flying Cowboys) have gotten me back in the air - after 25 years of not flying. Finishing my PPL within 1-2 months. Then I’ll be ordering a Kitfox 7 SS kit. Thanks for the inspiration! The Freedom Fox looks amazing with those improvements.
Jack Holley Good for you Jack. The Kitfox is such a life changing aircraft. We look forward to you joining the Kitfox family.
Wow what an upgrade this will be the super Freedom Fox. That crew at Kitfox deserves a medal an awesome crew. Looking forward for the new videos.
WOW! I thought the 915 iS was a complete financial stretch, so, my jaw dropped again when you opened with the CF cowling rough fit to the front! I couldn't help but notice the new CF dashboard, and, completely new holes for a NEW glass instrument panel! I gonna pass out from excitement here, Trent! I'm gonna have to retain a nurse just to watch your videos if you keep this up- I'm a friggin' heart attack risk at this point.
It had been so long between videos, I thought you stopped flying altogether, and, took up basket weaving, needlepoint, or crossword puzzles though. (You did warn that it would be a bit before an update- I'm so old, occasionally I forget my name- glad I'm subscribed- YT remembers for me!) Your wife is a SAINT, and, I've contacted the Church to start the canonization process ASAP. With the house underway, I'm really glad that she's on board- it's HUGE that you have & keep her support. Heck, she deserves: a praise filled video, a trip, a big gift (No, Trent- you are NOT the gift!)- along with WHATEVER she wants for new house- without argument.
It's like a new plane: new lighting, new instruments, new 'right sized' wheels, new CF pieces/parts- if you wanted a Carbon Cub, it might of been cheaper. (That's a joke, Corey & Kevin). Great friends, lots of helpful/ talented hands, and, the Kitfox crew stepping up- way above and beyond the call- genuinely exciting stuff. Can't wait 'til you get this bird in the air again, and, like everyone else- hoping you make the Sierra fly in- fingers crossed!
Flying vicariously through you, wicked jealous of your good fortune, and, super stoked about it all! Please try to get some vids posted up tho- the wait is killing me!
David C. Gulliver , I too thought something bad had happened !!
Trent, it is great that you are sharing all this... thank you so much.
Thanks for taking the time to give us an update. Really glad to see things are moving forward with the “Cub Killer” project.
Thanks for the update. We are patient. We know you are busy.
What a crew! What a project! We get by with a little help from our friends.
Trent, great job on the script and editing as this was a great update on light n balance. Loved the heavy battery kicked into the back. Bring um on. Great stage presence on camera. Thanks.
Mark
Can't wait to see your vlog from the HSF. That was an epic way for it all to go down. The Freedom Fox was so cool to see in person and it was great to meet you and everyone else who made it this year :)
This is a very special episode!! Love this 'show'!! Please keep flying, filming and letting us be your wingman!! Love from SA 🇿🇦
Please never change your intro. I love it!
wow an arm pump in the first few seconds of the video Mike P. would be proud " back to work"
I was saving up for a Riddle Marine jet boat. Now the piggy fund is going towards a Kitfox IV. I’m glad they treat you so well Trent. Your videos are pure Kitfox plane porn. I have flown in cubs quite a bit but the side by side seating and made in Idaho have me convinced Kitfox is for me. Thank you, keep up the good work.
I'm not surprised the Kitfox factory is helping you out. I can't imagine a better brand ambassador than you. Nicely done!
Can't wait for the High Sierra vids
The pictures look like it was an awesome event
Moira O'Brien z
So I gather this means the Freedom Fox build is already finished?
yes, check out his Instagram
Trent needs to quit living my dream life. I will definitely need a Fox in the future
Love the music ... oh, yes, and the Freedom Fox too!
Yes, it will be worth the time and energy.
Cant wait to see this landing out in the high dessert. Gonna be awesome an upgrade
We need more Trent Palmer updates!
was just thinking last night i havent seen a trent palmer video for a while, and then there one is ! Awesome cant wait for the finished product !
Newer viewer. Trent this video and music are outstanding!! Can’t wait to see more of your blogs! And follow you!!
Thanks Mark!
Sweet man. I just passed my check ride a week ago, now I have to start thinking about what to fly. ✈
Can't wait to see the finished product.
I’m stoked to see the final product
I can’t wait till I’m older because I am only 16 I can’t actually afford a kit Fox or even have a pilots license yet but hopefully when at most 25 have both you really inspired me to make this my goal
No need to apologize man, knowing how long it takes to film and edit, especially with the quality you produce. Needless to say; the wait was worth it. Thanks for the update.
Hey Trent, passed my private checkride 2 days ago. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Its like a completely new plane. awesome.
Good for you, Trent!!! 👍
Do yourself a favor and don't let the "Get There Itis" thing get in the way of taking the time needed for gettin' er done right (not to mention possibly skipping the testing phase to make the trip)!
High Sierra will still be there next year.
I remember when the zip tie seat straps broke on that hard landing you had when you landed on the side of a hill when your wife was with you, the seat dropping caused the controls linkages under
the seat for elevator and ailerons to be pinned in place making it impossible to use the stick. So, while you're at it, why not add a cross member (tube?) to prevent loss of control in case the seat ever
drops again for whatever reason!
Maybe adding an angle bar across the front cross member (tube), then use bolts and large fender washers to fasten the seat to the angle? You may need to do the same thing at the top cross
member (tube) as well so you can fasten the top of the seat pan too? Just a thought for a way to make it safer.
You are adding some really awesome components that will make your bird perform much better and it will be much safer too so why not go the extra step and cover those control rods (linkages)
under the seat? (or copy what they did for the newer KitFox models?)
I just want you to be as safe as possible because I care!!
Thanks a bunch for the update!! 😃
Sorry for the rant about your seat pan, seems I missed the Airplane Upgrades video where you showed the installation of the new seat pan with welded tabs for bolts.
I don't have time to watch every video you guys put out, I have to spend part of my time flying a Carbon Cub in my neck of the woods.
I was just concerned about safety.
Glad it all worked out in time for HSF, great performance! It will be good to see in more detail how it all unfolded!
That is awesome man I’m very excited to see this project finished through
Considering you were second only behind Draco at High Sierra I’d say you did a really good job!!
Jeeze, Trent. From "replacing the engine" to new cowling, firewall, dash panel and avionics suite, wiring, seats, intercooler and ducting, and everything else, just tell us what's NOT new. LOL (and ChaCHING!)
Cant wait to see the performance gain! Very excited! I don't know why, but I'm partial to steam gauges..........maybe because that's what I learned on............plus you don't have to pay for software updates. Then again, always had to pay for new charts. 6 one way half dozen the other.
Trent, super jealous. I would be very torn with showing off all that carbon fiber, but the Freedom Fox's paint scheme is just too good. Thanks for the update!
Soooo cool that everyone is helping out. Great job Trent
You are raising the bar high for all future KitFox builds. Thanks for the quick update. It is like leaving a trail of bread crumbs. Each one is leading up to a entire years worth of take offs and landings from all your favorite spots and then some. Great news for all that subscribe, I can't wait. This is sure to be topped off with great performance reviews. Congrats on your second place finish to Draco at the High Sierra Fly-In, this is actually a first place in anyones book except Mike's...Looked like good times. Enjoy
Been missing your vlogs.... Glad to wake up with another on my feed!
Glad to see your posting again
Man your videos always are the highest quality and professionally edited. Thanks for the update, the Freedom Fox looks amazing, can't wait to see her done.
That's ok take your time get the plane done and then you can tell us about it. Can't wait
Yes! Glad to see an update! We thought we saw the #FreedomFox taking off out of Homedale the other day! Keep it up! Get it done! Best wishes Trent! We would love to meet up and get to shake your hand! I'm 20 min from the kitfox shop!
And oh yeah ; Carbon fiber skirts , a flying low rider ! Thas iconic , good idea .
Was waiting for an update on the build - can’t wait to see the performance
Thank's so much for the Update!! Living vicariously through these videos of this wicked litttle plane!! As always be careful stay Happy strong and Healthy We need you showing us the possibilities of life!! #FansofTheFreedomFox

Helloo Trent, was wondering about you, but thanks for the update, and I can't wait to see the final product!..bet it will be awesome!..thanks..
Keep posting build updates love seeing the mechanical side of things , cant wait to see the preformance .
We're happy with quick roughcuts.
Great build!
Hey Trent, good to see the Kitfox, I mean Cub killer, coming along nicely. Vlog shows just how much work is involved.
Don
You made it to High Sierra but lost from Draco, damn! But the Freedom Fox fly again, nice!
Don't worry about us. We will all be here when you get done. Just focus and get er done!
missed you Trent
We did a hand shake on Monday, Oct 8 at Kitfox. Looking forward to more videos from you.
The carbon cowling is awesome!
Good to see you back on line after some time away. Your baby is looking awesome, I am smiling, enviously ;)
Looking sharp, I just thought I would mention that I bought a Mavic Pro 2 due to your input on this site now I have to learn how to fly it
Very cool Trent! High praise from back east, near Rhinebeck Aerodrome
Next time you find yourself in Utah, please let us know. My boys and I would love to come and watch you and the rest of the Flying Cowboys take to the air!
Wow and what a team!
Keep it up, Trent, with every update it gets closer and closer to the dream plane!
Almost a brand new plane!!
Woo-Hoo!
Congratulations
This vid put a huge smile on my face
Good report Trent. Thanks for the update. I realize there is a lot of work involved behind the scenes to post a video and it is appreciated!
Good Luck with the build. It will be crazy cool when you finish it.
Good to hear from you, been a while, looks good
Awesome to watch this, as this is what I've been working on on my plane recently. You've got probably the nicest Kitfox that exists right now.
Wow look at you!!!!!! looks like your getting one sweet plain (which it already was) big kudos to your friends for helping and kit fox for the same. I love the videos. Mike
I like the new cowling.
I know you made it to High Sierra, It feels like we are a little behind the actual progress. Way to go, looking better every day.
I'm curious about something. It's about Center of Gravity. You mentioned about placing the battery way back, and needed the weight back there. You all also mentioned weight differences of the cowling as well. When your throwing all this together, how does one figure out the planes COG. I fly remote control gasser's and nitro's and when building there is always this COG factor to get right. I know how we do it on the RC side of planes, but what about Full Scale ? TIA
Dang .... this a total rebuild! Look forward to the reveal!
I thought I liked your old cowl until I saw the new cowls, SICK!!!
Super stoked for you man, it's turning out great! Enjoyed the update!
Awesome Trent, love the videos!! Keep up the good work. Man that looks like quite a project, just the sort of thing id love to be helping at if i lived closer.
Good work Trent et al. You really looked and sounded tired.....
My flight instructor asked me last weekend "has Trent Palmer got the new engine in yet? I haven't seen a clip for while"..... LOL as I messed up my radio call to the ground :O
Thank you, been Jonesing for your next video, now I feel so much better.
Awesome Trent and Crew!
We are all looking forward to see her back in the air!
I am curious about the differences in performance compared to your old engine, fuel consumption, cruise speed and stall speed at max take of weight etc..
Cross the fingers that you will be ready on time!
Cheers!
Freedom Fox lookin' sick! Can't wait for the finished walk around!
