Really sad and strong song, and the video itself. It’s all about war, deaths of relatives and friends, and loneliness. I don’t think it would sound better with Till”s upper register. His low voice fits with a tragic feeling of the song well, I think.
Well it is Friday evening where I live (nearly midnight), so I anyway had a look what was going on in here. I was very surprised about that reaction. To be honest, I do not know too much about the song, except that it is a cover and the original is from 1935, but I am sure there are some who might know more. It is always a bit sad for me to hear/see this, because it was released just a few days after my uncle was found dead in his apartment. Until today, no one knows what really happened. He was not sick or something. Back then I was positively surprised that he was working together with David Garrett. Once Garrett was also performing as a child and boy he can play his violin very well in is very well known in the classical world. He even owns a Stradivari and I think that says already a lot about him. Garrett is a great violinist and a nice person as well. I watched also several interviews with him and know some of his work. Uh, surprise, surprise. Yes, I also sometimes listen to classical stuff. Ups. 🙃 Thanks for your reaction and enjoy the weekend David. ❤️
Well I'm surprised..you actually gave it a higher score than I was thinking.. I was thinking 7.3 to 7.5. I like this song it's not something I listen to that often just every so often I feel like listening to it. I've only seen the video completely the 1st time..i don't like the video not because it's bad or anything like that..it just scares me..it creeps me out..and omg I have a great fear of puppets those ventriloquist dummies scare the hell out of me!!! But I do like the song and the message is deep and sad.

David Garrett is a solid violinist. I’m only familiar with his Paganini portrayal so it’s nice to hear him play pretty and calm. ~Queenie
