What bottle Lyle had bogeying the 11 with 3 putt after playing safe so going right at it on 12 must have thought it was stone dead on the tee. Then 2 birdies in the last 3 holes what a legend
According to his caddie Dave Musgrove, Lyle had mud on his ball for his 2nd shot at 11 - hence it hung out further to the right than he intended. And because it landed on the fringe he still couldn't clean it, causing his first putt to come up six feet short.

I’d love to watch this. But it’s making me sea sick
@ 2hrs 7 after Stadler's bunker shot "you'll never see one better than that" ... well well
was Stadler actually trying to shoot at the flag on 16 with a cut??? 🤦♂
Lyle's sheer talent power!
2:35:00 basically not a grain of sand. LolHe earned this major
I bet Bernhard Langer has played more tournament rounds then anybody.
Back when patrons were spectators...
took me 30 minutes to find the leaderboard
I Have Watched Several Golf Tournaments 🖥️⛳🏌🏻♀️🏆👀👁️👁️😁😎🤓 🙂☺️Here In 2024.🖥️👀👁️👁️😁😎🤓🙂☺️ And I Think 🤔 That Nick Faldo Has Retired From Golf Tournaments 🖥️⛳🏌🏻♀️🏆🏆🏆AND TV 🖥️🎧🎤🗣️ Commentary.
Also , I Remember 🤔 Reading The Newspaper 🏡🚗🗞️📰🙇🏻That Next Day. And Reading "Sandy Lyle Wins The 1988 Masters!" ⛳🏌🏻♀️🏆👕😁😎🙂☺️ And I Thinking 🤔To Myself , "Who The Heck Is This Sandy Lyle?"
At Least Sandy Lyle Has Done Something That I Could Never Do!
Win ⛳🏌🏻♀️🏆 A Masters Tournament.⛳🏌🏻♀️🏆👕😁😎🙂☺️
I Am Posting 📫 This 👇🏻 At 2:18 p.m. ,
Thursday Afternoon 🌁🛤️🛣️🏙️ , June 13 , 2024.
Poor form from Ben Crenshaw not shouting "four" after his wayward approach at 15.
Bernard langer in the midst of major putting yips and still contending at a major, AWESOME
No, his yips hadn't started by this point. They began six weeks later, at the end of May (during the PGA at Wentworth).
In the remaining majors of '88 he went MC - LAST - MC.
That ping 1 iron, but more to do with the shots that he made with his seven iron that won him the masters.
The great Sandy Lyle... later played the bagpipes in Croc of Tears.
commentators are dreadful compared to brilliant BBC Coverage. Sandys 7 iron from bunker on 72nd hole is still the greatest Masters golf shot of all time.
The imagination of a Scotsman, roads trains phones.....we're there.
Not sure why the commentators keep calling Sandy Lyle, British. He's from Scotland, which is part of the United Kingdom.
Caley Hand If you’re from the United Kingdom you’re British. Sandy Lyle is Scottish and also British. Nick Faldo is English and also British.
Hord Hardin forgets Sandy's name lol
No, he was distracted because Lyle had just entered the Butler Cabin and the sound guys were getting him mic'd up, and generally fussing about.
Can't use a better pic? That has to be the worst champions pose ever.
Mark Calca was very powerful man
*Calcavecchia*
Sandy who ? Oh yeah the guy whos in the last pairing... So yank centric. Really poor coverage here...
Only won the open 3 years before, and the tpc year before....that unknown. Yeah really bad coverage commentary
Ken Venturi sure sure made some dumb comments.
The purple panther corroboratively chew because dock formerly murder following a lethal church. tightfisted, wealthy sentence
Venturi is the Donald trump of golf commentators.. Half sentences... Barely coherent.. Knows what everyone is thinking.. Has feelings this or that will happen
I Agree 💯👍🏻
Ken Venturi Must Have Gave The Green Jacket 🟢🧥To Mark Calavecchia , About 3 Different Times , In The Last Hour , Of This Broadcast! 😬🙄🤦🏻🤷🏻🤦🏻
Like , Really Man?
I Thought 🤔 That You TV 📺 Sports Commentators Are Supposed To Be Neutral 😐
Could Have Fooled Me!
ken was great, knew golf and the shots, he lived it. you didn't .
