    This video was very informative and led to me buying the givi monorack system. I've got the PS 2015 model and found original hangar bolts to be long enough. thank you for making this.

    Thanks, this has saved me a lot of bother! I had already bought the same rack, and things didn't look quite right at the back, after I removed the cowl. My bike is actually a ZX14R, originally from the US, so I was worried that the back end was different. Unfortunately, no grab-rail was included. I looked at a pannier rack, too, but could see that definitely did use the grab-rail mounting, so stuck with the tob-box rack alone. This tall system didn't look like it used the grab-rail mounts, but your video has shown me it does, and also that's why it looks different! 🙄 I'll have to try and get hold of one, now!
    Good tip on the bolt-lengths, too -that will save me some time.
    Cheers, Andrew

      Jarod Baker: glad to be of some help. Going to try and find a way now of fitting the seat cowl around the top mounting points without it looking tacky. Ride safe...

    Great video Kawasaki Man! You have just saved me a pain in the butt as I was just about to buy one direct from Kawasaki for my ZZR1400 2012 ABS model and I will certainly be buying one of these now. Thank you so much and keep it the right side up.

    Additionally, since my first comments, lower down:
    I managed to get hold of a grabrail on ebay, and looked forward to fitting my topbox frame. However,
    I then discovered that there are two different tailpieces -one broad one for use without a grabrail, and one with a cut-out for the rail, which I also had to then buy. (I notice Kawasaki Man has both types -the broad one on his workbench, and the one with the cut-out already on the bike.) The part nos. for these two are one digit different (the broad one is 36040 0058). I think the cut-out version was -0059, but if not, it's-0057 (can't just remember now, as it's all fastened up, under frame). I hope this info might help somebody, as I had to take a bit of a flyer, hoping that it would fit, and that it wasn't just from an earlier model.

      Hi Andrew, the other tail piece is for use with the solo seat cowl. It is longer than the original as you don’t need the cut out for the passenger grab rail. The longer one comes as part of a set when you buy the cowl. Hope this makes sense. Happy riding and stay safe. Cheers.

    Hi. I have had 2 previous ZZR 's and fitted the original back plate . Like you said in the video, you have to do a lot of stripping down and it's a real fidgety job and time consuming. I left mine on when I sold as couldn't be bothered taking it all apart again. Just bought a 15 plate ZZR performance edition and will def look at this givi system this time round

      lucky Phil, the rack comes off and back on in less than 10 mins without the need to dismantle or remove anything but the seat. Enjoy your new toy and ride safe...

    Beautiful bike. I reckon a roll bag is as nice as those boxes - so thanks for the info.

      Matty Bt. I agree and lighter but wanted security for my helmet and jacket etc. I have had a box custom painted to match the bike and looks awesome. Enjoy this summer m8

    It's good to have a comparison between the different mfrs of top box set up givi seems the way to go especially if you do not have to dismantle the bike to put on. 6kg is derisory the box probably weights around 5-6 kg before you fill it.

      Neil Carr... yes that was my first thought when looking but the rack doesn't look bulky and comes off in less that 10 mins... perfect...

    Great video but I'm in a similar position and looking for a kit to fit the gen 1? I don't think this one is suitable but do you know or have a link to any for my bike? Partner won't get on without topbox 🥲

    Hi, Can someone tell me if this will fit to my 2018 zx14r (I'm in australia) please note I do not have a grab rail as I took it off and have misplaced it. Do I need to find it or can I fit this without the grab rail which I don't really care for anyway

    Gen 1 zzr14, OEM rack and plate. Not Givi as i dont liek the unsighlty bars. The OEM one was £50 on an ebay collection only. 10 miles away..bargain! Now have my e52 maxia fitted, spinal injuries from army so i cant carry a rucksack. Hassle? 15-20 mins fit, a doddle compared to the zzr1100 givi!

    Hi again Kawasaki Man. A bit of a silly question but here goes lol... Do you have to buy all 3 parts separately or does the Givi mounting plate come with the bolt on arms? Cheer for any help you could give me as I am new to this touring malarkey haha. I am also off in May to Cornwall camping so I need this for all my bits and bobs.

    • @kawasakiman330
      @kawasakiman330  7 років тому +1

      Mad Mole... hi, I'm new to this also but did a lot of homework beforehand and thought this was the best for the money. The kit comes with both arms and a top mounting plate. The Givi plate is separate around £30 as this is box dependant (monokey or monolock plate) both are a direct fit. If I can help you with anymore pics or videos then feel free to ask. Enjoy this summer bud...

      Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly Kawasaki Man :) I am with you now and thank you so much for your help as I got a bit bogged down in what to buy earlier and I thought I was bound to order too many bits. Thank you so much once again and you have an awesome summer to buddy.

    Great video. Out of interest, how do your pillion passengers find riding, not having the rear grab rail?

    • @kawasakiman330
      @kawasakiman330  7 років тому

      timmasonguitar: good question, well as they have the top box with the back rest on they normally just hold on to the seat grip in between their legs but that's at speed, normally they don't need to at all, lean back and relax...! Thanks for your question and happy riding.

      I have a VFR800 at the moment and my wife loves the side grab rails, along with a V47 topbox for added security. Lack of rails is something which concerns her when I talk about getting a 1400, so thanks for replying.

    Will this fit a 2015 ZX-14r? My fiancé' will not ride on my bike unless i get a top box with back rest cushion like I had on my 09 Concours 14.

      It depends on the size of your rear number plate. They won't clear a standard sized UK plate as I found out when trying to fit mine today. A smaller number plate is needed.

    Hi, Is it possible to use a seat cover with this mounting rack?

    • @kawasakiman330
      @kawasakiman330  3 роки тому +1

      Hi, no it just won’t affix at the very rear. Was thinking about cutting it to fit but don’t want to risk breaking it completely. Hope this helps. Stay safe.
