This is such an improvement on the Zager/Evans version.....sung with much more thought than the automatic delivery of the original. I wish commercial consideration had allowed the guitar -player to open up and take us on the journey at the end. ...actually worth a new version boys !..... a little hindsight on the words and some late 60s space impro. (I`m just buying a copy !)

I saw Whichwhat performing this song in 1969, at Langley Mill Working Men's Club, Derbyshire, UK. It had just started climbing the UK charts, then the Zager and Evans version was released, sadly ending Whichwhat's chart progress.

Hi Gavin, I remember really enjoying playing at that club doing our version of 2525. There has never been or ever will be a better time for bands. However it was released in 1969 not 68. Cheers Walt

@@walandjane Thanks Walt, I have now altered it to 1969, I never knew what day it was in the 60's :)

I thought Langley Mill was in Notts.

@@MarkLsixtyseven The border between Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, at Langley Mill, used to be marked by the River Erewash, which was just after Vic Hallams entrance. The Derbyshire border was later extended towards the A610 by-pass, so the old Vic Hallams site is now included in Derbyshire, but the Working Men's Club was always in Derbyshire.
