"Secrets of Carpathian Cuisine: Stuffed Peppers with Beef Step by Step"

    Peppers stuffed with minced meat and rice, baked or on the fire, traditional, classic, old recipe, with a delicious flavor. Romanian recipe.
    INGREDIENTS:
    Minced BEEF 740g.
    5 PEPPERS
    2 MEDIUM ONIONS
    2 CLOVES OF GARLIC
    1 GRATED CARROT
    1/2 GLASS OF ROUND RICE.
    200 ml fried tomatoes
    100gr. pork bacon (optional).
    120 ml of vegetable oil.
    Seasonings: ground pepper, thyme, sweet paprika-1 teaspoon of each.
    1 bay leaf and salt to taste.
    1 liter of water for cooking.
    parsley to taste.
    natural yogurt and pickled chillies to accompany the dish (optional).
    Preparation mode:
    Cut the bacon into thin strips or slices
    Cut the tops off the peppers, remove the seeds and white veins, and leave the tails covered.
    Chop the onion and garlic, grate the carrot and chop the parsley very finely.
    We fry these vegetables in the previously melted bacon oil, take out the bacon and save it for cooking. Season with salt, pepper, thyme and paprika, add half a glass of rice and fry everything well.
    In a bowl we put the minced meat and the vegetables sautéed in the first step and mix everything well with our hands.
    We stuff the peppers and cover them with the previously cleaned stems. Then we place them in a deep pot or casserole so we can add water until the entire surface of the peppers is covered. If there is too much filling left, add it to the cooking water, cover the pot and cook for 30 minutes. Two minutes before we add the fried tomatoes.
    We serve it on a plate with a little tomato sauce, chilli and yogurt.
