using the free Polylang plugin wordpress.org/plugins/polylang/
We are going to translate Gutenberg, Elementor, Brizy and Oxygen made websites.

You can translate your post and pages and can also translate pages that were created with a pagepuilder.
You write posts, pages and create categories and post tags as usual, and then define the language for each of them.
The translation of a post, whether it is in the default language or not, is optional.
It is a free plugin that lets you translate all your content (except woo) and it is a fast and very reliable plugin.
You have to manually do the translation (it gives you the choice of auto translate, with the help of lingotek but for me the result is not what I want.

Thanks for the tutorial. Just built a multilanguage site with oxygen using this guide.
One thing to note, because a shortcoming of Oxygen, the second language of an oxygen page does not have the styling if you used the id's to apply styles and not classes. So i had to re-do all my styles again for the new language using classes instead.
Thanks for the info. I do use classes everywhere, so this is something I havent tried. I hope you used the "copy to" function to copy the classes.

@@Elsteck I find it easier and to me it is better. In Polylang I can copy and paste a big text all in once.
In TranslatePress I have to do paragraph by paragraph. The URL of the translated pages are not editable. Photo translations is not capable.
There are a lot of thing that I am missing.

Is there a way in ACF to translate the choices in a select field?
You will nedd to add the ACF in the Polylang settings and then create a clone of the custom fileds for the second language.
Stratos, thanks for you excellent video. I ve translated my webpage and it worked well with one exception. All blogs are translated and available if I click on the blog but not shown on my english blogsite! Any idea what I missed? thanks Thomas
So everything else is working on both languages? Have translated the category? Have you assign the translated posts in the blog category?

Which page builder are you using? When you say switch the language you mean assign the page to the second language? Try disabling the cache plugin.

Before going further with my translation and Oxygen site, i wanted to check something you. I have some custom fields on multiples pages. For home page for example, i have an ACF gallery. I first started to translate the title of the pages... and i saw that the ACF fields in my translated home page are not there. What could be the reason since i selected that the custom fields to be synchronized in Polylang settings?
If you want the same images on both languages I think you should not enable the ACF in the settings of the Polylang. Cause now it will expect from you to upload the pictures in the second language that are the translation of the original pictures.

I'm trying to translate the footer with elementor and I followed your instructions to go to (Custom post types and Taxonomies ) and click on "my templates" but when I click save and go to back to my saved templates page, they are all gone. I can see the amount that is published but the templates aren't showing. I have a template for my footer. Do you know why this could be happening? Thank you in advance!

Το θέμα που χρησιμοποιώ στο wordpress website μοu (Didi ) είναι συμβατό κ προσαρμόζεται στο mobile version , θα ήθελα όμως αν ήταν εφικτό ο επισκέπτης απο συσκευή κινητής να μπορεί να επιλέξει κ να δει th desktop version . Γνωρίζεις αν υπάρχει κάποιο plugin ή κάτι αντίστοιχο ?
Αυτό μπορεί να το κάνει από τις ρυθμίσεις της εφαρμογής του κινητού που χρησιμοποιεί. Οι περισσότερες εφαρμογές έχουν επιλογή για αλλαγή σε Desktop View.
Έχε υπόψιν όμως ότι ο σκοπός της προβολής ενός site από κινητό είναι η ευκολία και η ταχύτητα. Δεν είναι η ομορφία και τα εφέ.

I have one problem I would ask if you would know how to solve.
I have made a homepage with 3 languages, with Danish as the basis and English and Latvian on top.
It works fairly good except that it start in Danish and that is ok. But when I select another language and press a button in the menu it also function as expected but when I then move to another point in the menu or submenu the system jumps to danish and I have to press the other language again. What have I missed?

Check the order of the languages. Put Danish as zero and the others 1 and 2. And then check the menu or the buttons that correspond to the correct pages.

I had actually tried a lot of things but had focused too much to find something about the menu itself, but now when you mentioned the connection between the menu and the single categories and pages I realized that I had used some slightly different headings for menu and pages. I have tested and it looks as if everything will work out good even with the special characters in Latvian (as in greeck). Again many thanks Erik

Thanks for your helpful tutorial. I have a question corncerning translations of Plugins:
I am using Polylang free version. In the Polylang translation, the plugin "WP-UA-cam Lyte" is not included with the consequence that German language is shown on English pages. It seems to be that Polylang free version does not support the plugin "WP-UA-cam Lyte".
Question: Does the Pro Version of Polylang support the translation? Or is there another way how I can translate the plugin "WP-UA-cam Lyte"?
You cannot translate plugins with Polylang. To do the translation of a plugin use Loco that works great along side to Polylang.
Thank you so much for the instruction, it helps a lot. However, when I setup the second language, my main language is disabled. I cannot even change to the original language. Please help me on this problem. Thank you.
Check in the admin bar if you have a language selector. Propably it hides the content of the first language
Hi Stratos, regarding Oxygen, when I add a second language for a page and click the "Edit with Oxygen" button for that second language page, the Oxygen builder wont load and I get a "To Many redirects" error. Any idea why this might be or maybe you have run into such an issue?
Never mind, got this fix, Gtranslate still got some rules inside the htaccess file ;-)
Could you tell me why when I activate Polylang all categories and products on the site disappear? Site using Woocommerce and WPBeary. Thanks
Check on the admin bar on top what language is selected. You can select all languages

I still run into a problem when it comes to finally publishing the translated page: Even after publishing the translated page it shows the page with its original language. I really don't know where the problem comes from.. I already thought about cache issues, but even after deleting the cache and reloading I still only get to see my original site with the original language. Can you give me a hint on that issue?

After you hit publish, click to view the page you created from the slug on the right column.
Also check at the top of the backend if there is a flag when vieing all the pages. Maybe it is set to the default language.
What page builder are you using?
@@stratos-tutorials When I'm in the page overview I see all the sites I created, with both languages that I want to use. In the section where each site is listed, I'm seeing both flags with the pen to either side, like you mentioned in your video.
I took over the website from someone else and I am new to the whole wordpress thing, so I don't really know where to look that up, the only thing I can say is, that when I'm opening the Duplicate Page plugin settings I can switch between Classic and Gutenberg Editor. But neither setting does change the behaviour. Additionally I know that Bricks is installed, and I really hope that is not a problem...

@@ApolloPilot something does not sound correct. If bricks is enabled then the pages should be created and edited with bricks and not classic or gutenber editor. The admin bar is on the backend (dashboard) on the top of the pages. It has the username on the right and other tools on the left.

I have a huge issue with Oxygen - the templates are connected to each other and when I make a change in one of them it immediately changes the others. I tried all the settings in the polylang interface, but cannot find anything else that I didn't try. Any help would be great.
Probably you are using the same classes with the elements in those templates.
@@stratos-tutorials The classes are the same for sure (after all, that's the point of having the same looking template, right?), but I think I might have found the cause - I'm still checking, but it seems that the problem was that the "custom fields" checkbox (under "synchronizaiton") was checked.
Apparently all of the templates are passed as "custom fields". That's pretty crazy, I spent three days on this... :-/

Hello. Thank you so much!!! I do have a problem with the home page for the second language. When I set it up, it disables the page on my main language. And vice versa. How can I set up a home page for my second language side? Thanks
In the settings only one page will be set as home. An them you can add a translation for that page.

I have tried the free version and it worked, but I would not recomented for a big store with a ton of products, since you have to translate almost everything.
Hello Stratos. I have a question: when I upload a new product and category, they will appear in the main language and not in the other languages. I use storefront and I don't understand how to create the category for the others languages. If I add category the category appear only in the main language. Do you know how to do? Thanks

@@stratos-tutorials I don't think there is. The categories and products are uploaded in the main language and I cannot find any way to split from there. Maybe will be better and easy to make another website just with a different domaine.
Are you talking about woo with polylang?

Polylang free does not support woocommerce. There is a work around but natively it does not support it

Δημιουργήσα όλες τις σελίδες με τον τροπο που έδειξες και την εφαρμογή duplicate page , το μενου , το polylang kai to language switcher τα ειχα κανει ήδη μόνη μου . Αφότου εχω ολοκληρωσει τις σελιδες κ υποσελιδες κ στις 2 γλώσσες και εχω κανει preview συμβαινει το εξης Οταν μπαινω στο αγγλικο site κ απο το switcher αλλάζω σε ελληνικά με οδηγεί στην αντίστοιχη ελληνική σελίδα απο το ελληνικο μενού οταν επιλεγω κατι με οδηγεί κ παλι στην αντιστοιχη αγγλικη σελιδα αν παλι απο το switcher επιλξω ελληνικα με οδηγει στην αντιστοιχη ελληνικη αλλα απο τo μενού οτι κ αν επιλεξω απο τα ελληνικά με οδηγει στο αντιστοιχο αγγλικο ενω υπαρχει η ελληνικη σελιδα .Μηπως δεν εχω κανει καποια ρυθμιση που να συνδεει τα μενου ? αν εχειες καποια ιδεα κ μπορεις να με βοηθησεις θα σου ειμαι ευγνωμων . Πηγαινε στα μενού και μπες στο Ελληνικό μενού. Εκεί πρέπει να επιλέξεις κάτω το κουτάκι που λέει ότι είναι για το Ελληνικό μενού και οι σελίδες που θα προσθέσεις μέσα πρέπει να είναι οι Ελληνικές. Από ότι κατάλαβα εσύ έχεις βάλει τις Αγγλικές μέσα στο Ελληνικό μενού.

Hi Stratos, great video, I wonder if you can help me to clarify the following doubt related to "hreflang":
I have two separate domains, with completely different names that I will use to build two brand new websites. The domain for Spanish speakers all over the world is "ahorratiempo.org" and the domain for English speakers all over the world is "savestime.org" , each website will be installed in their own separate hosting account -- The content will be translated manually by me (1 to 1 translation, same structure, same content ) from spanish to english. I will Not use any multilingual plugin because each website will have only one language.
Now my question:
In this specific case, do I need to implement "hreflang" to avoid "Duplicate content" issues and this in turn damages my SEO, or is it Not necessary since each website will be totally separated in separate installations and with its different domain name ? ?
I'm using WordPress.

You don't have any problems since they have different URLs. Even if they were under the same domain, the fact that you would us the eng in the URL (of the English) would do the trick.
So no need to do anything extra.

Here I am facing an issue and I'll share with you a screenshot if you can help snipboard.io/2EtC7L.jpg .Ακολούθησα τα βήματα για το polylang pages ,posts ,duplicate page and etc ,είχα στο σύνολο 4 post 2 στα αγγλικά και 2 τα αντίστοιχα στα ελληνικά . αφου παρακολουθησα το βιντεο έβαλα κ το polylang customizer Τωρα όταν μπαίνω στο all posts και αφότου πόσταρα κ ενα 5ο αρθρο στα αγγλικά αντιμετωπιζω το εξής δεν μου τα δείχνει όλα κ στο show more options επιλεγω κ τισ 2 γλώσσες όπως μπορείς να δεις στο screenshot ,παταω apply αλλά δεν το αποθηκευει . Σε ευχαριστω εκ των προτερων .
Δοκίμασε να κάνεις τo polylang απενεργοποίηση και δες αν σου τα εμφανίζει. Αν δε τα εμφανίζει τότε ίσως κάποιο άλλο plugin ή το θέμα σου κάνει το πρόβλημα. Αν τα εμφανίζει τότε πιθανόν είναι κάποι θέμα ρύθμισης. Πάρε ένα backup πρώτα
@@stratos-tutorials Κάτι ακομη που με παραξενευει ειναι το εξής , επειδή το βλέπω και σε εσένα και σε άλλα screenshots σε support post για το Polylang kai Polylang Theme customizer όταν βρίσκομαι στο WP Admin πάνω πάνω στη μαύρη γραμμή εκει που λέει My Site δίπλα έχω το reader κ δίπλα απο αυτό δεν εχω language switcher ή οπως βλεπω σε εσένα all languages Πηγα στο settings reader κ δεν εχει καποια επιλογη για τις γλωσσες .
