Tollywood has always been making movies on Indian epics like Ramayan and Mahabharata. There were quite a few movies with so many sub-plots of these epics especially in the black and white era. So, in that sense, Tollywood of yesteryears was well acquainted with the mythological (hate to use this word but) filmmaking path. Nag Ashwin is trying his best to put it in a modern setting with his suave sensibilities which were on display for Yevade Subrahmanyam and Mahanati. It is in fact astonishing that a two film old director is carrying the mantle of an entire industry if not of the entire country. Cheers to the team. Looking forward to the output.

@@nagarjunayt don't hate to say this that most of the films your Telugu industry made with themes/tales from Mahabharata,ramayana etc were quite absolutely 💩💩..ironically ur people have very shallow understanding of the subject matter despite making many films on it,bcs adapting an already established story also required 🧠..though bug budget Telugu films can have good production values,& few good technical points but most of your actors don't know how to act..
perhaps that's why Nag Ashwin took Kamal Hassan,Amitabh bachchan etc to help Prabhas uncle sail through the fail for some time..
@@rajsouth101 I could simply abuse you and leave. But I will just laugh at your ignorance and leave it at that. What do you know about Telugu film industry to say anything! I was referring to great actors like NTR, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, SV Ranga Rao, Savitri and directors like KV Reddy who brought a respect to the mythological genre cinema. After their times, there were fewer such films, but their movies are like dictionaries for us.
With respect to Kamal and Amitabh being part of Kalki, they're actors to be proud about for the entire country. Don't wanna abuse them just to prove a point. Imagine the kind of scale being commanded by a Telugu movie where legendary folks from other language industries are here for a role.
Prithviraj and Fahad for Salaar and Pushpa, Kamal, Amitabh and Deepika for Kalki now and Jr. NTR going to Bollywood for War with Hrithik, Ram Charan was asked for a Marvel superhero role and the list will only become richer with every passing day. Cry as much as you can and try your verbal diarrhoea elsewhere.
I hope and pray that you'll find something to be happy and cheer about in your life than replying to comments on a UA-cam video to just get shat back on.
Post Baahubali, instead of looking at the scripts, Prabhas just went with interesting ideas. And the writers assumed people would watch it just for that interesting idea instead of the entire story. That I think is a major isue in many of big Indian movies that aren't just standard commercial movies.
It's the nature of prabhas he like to do that . One can understand by watching movie" chakram " . Even director krishna Vamsi told in interview I took an action film to him but he asked chakram because he wants experiment new . So that y I added some masala to .chakram is risky movie where movie talk about ur vedhantham like what would achieve at the end like theme .even gopichandh warned him to not to but he insisted .

Salaar was a great story...he just lacked good direction
Even bahubali was just an interesting idea at beginning, some ideas do magic some fail, but prabhas still tries to do something new instead of being a stereotype or being afraid of failure. Thats y I support him

Mirchi till the day is my favourite film of prabhas after bahubali, it was the proper telugu film with core family values and prabhas's action ( his physique at that time was insane)

Dune 1 shooting started way before 2020, while it's original book was written in 1970's

Prabhas indeed knows he is taking huge risk after Bahubali by working with young director's with different genres but there is thing where Prabhas never compromises his commitments once given to the director whether he is an excellent director or upcoming director, that's his true character 😍. After the blockbuster comeback from SALAAR, while seeing his upcoming movies he has a solid lineup in which each movie can gross upto 700-800 crores easily. PRABHAS is genuinely a darling 💥🔥💪🏻

I am going to watch it because it’s a Telugu movie and because of Nag Ashwin. Telugu cinema has a long history of making large scale productions with characters from our Ithihaasaa and Puranas.
First of all, Kalki is a vision of Nag Aswin.. He is the Hero for that movie..

That kid talking all Indian languages to Ashwathama is just wowww.. A real Pan Indian teaser..
That Ashwa uncle is like introducing that mangnum opus character like Ashwathama to Indian kids as uncle.. just woww.. Spell bound by the creativity..

Even before Bahubali, Prabhas was always trying different genres with debut directors. If fact Mirchi was with a debut Director as well. But with Saaho & Radhe shyam, both the directors were only 1 film old and that too a small budget films. Them getting to work with biggest star & huge budgets might have overwhelmed them. Saaho was still interesting but RS was bad. I still think Prabhas's biggest mistake was Adipurush and I bet he regretted it the moment he was told that it would be shot completely on a Sound stage. Om raut vision is still 8th wonder to me on how he decided to give Saif a spiky hair. To me Salaar was good but could hv been grt but to my surprise Prabhas's screen presence really translated there, it was a one man show. I trust that Nag Ashwin & Sandeep vanga will use Prabhas correctly. In Rajamouli words - Prabhas is like a sword and its all on the person wielding it to make the best use of it. 🙏

I just hope we get to see Prabhas act as well as he did in Bahubali. Somehow I feel his acting is directly proportional to the quality of the script and the director he is working with.
Kalki seems to be the film Indian Cinema was waiting for decades amidst the global success of engaging high quality sci-fi franchises and a glut of the same in India.
I think it's more about the movie, content, directors, crew..nd actors come at the end....so it's not only about PRABHAS always. A film like Kalki should be known for the entire crew than star bearing Prabhas or any hero for that fact

For all those saying it have similar set up to dune amd blade runner let me tell you this, the concept of dystopian world is in our scriptures like centuries ago, if the tone of the film seems similar then there is nothing wrong in taking inspiration from great films so chill, nag himself told he was inspired by star wars(which was inspired from dune book)

When people went gaga over Salaar, it showed their desperation for Prabhas to get a hit and hence they set their bar a bit low. Man, it was like a freefall for Prabhas since the glory days of Bahubali. If Prashant couldn't live upto the expectations, I have got none for Nag Ashwin, until the movie releases, my expectations are in check.

Jammy bro, Rewatch Salaar in Telugu with esubs (my opinion changed like 180', once i rewatched it in telugu, hindi dubbing is lazy as hell) after the initial 30 mins, u can skip the coal fight scene (because it gets irritating there) but once the 2nd half begins Especially in Telugu language with esubs, its a whole different movie alltogether, trust me rewatch it in telugu

I believe at least this movie will not be political as north south division .....and hopes everyone will support for the greater good of indian cinema
Prabhas already gave a comeback with salaar even with less screens in north and negative north pr media the film collected 700 crores and even his lineup with kalki 2898ad salaar 2 spirit and a comedy film with rajasaab and war film with hanu raghavapudi he's gone make bonkers with these films in future in box-office
One thing we have to give to prabhas is his range in selection of scripts. He isn't playing it safe like other star heroes and exploring something new with his every project.

I am thrilled to see the character of Ashwatthama in a film. As per the legend and as per people's experiences, Ashwatthama is still around and very much alive. I wonder why nobody thought of showing him earlier.

Jammy Anna, as a Telugu fan of darling Prabhas let me tell you that it was not because of pressure of pan India movies for Prabhas Anna, actually he worked with inexperienced makers after bahubali who couldn't justify his stardom somehow on big screen. Also in 2020 during radhe shyam shoot he got injured his knee badly.. So badly that he underwent 3-4 major surgeries. Since he is a foodie and bit lazy by nature so Due to that his whole routine and lifestyle changed, he gained weight, couldn't perform action and stunts properly that also affected his confidence in dialogue delivery n body language..that was apparent in RADHE SHYAM, ADIPURSH and even actions of SALAAR. But now he underwent another surgery last year.. Thankfully he is all good now. Just wait for his next projects 🤞❤

The thing is After bahubali everyone thinks if they make films with prabhas with huge budget they can get success....but when they dont have content or proper calculations where they are spending ,Actor Craze only pull some amount which is not necessary to make a film hit....ultimately its entirely dependent on content....if content is good the movie can cross its boundaries...there are plenty of examples like Virupaksha , Hanuman , Masooda , kantara etc...then next priority will come actors craze it will add some more amount to collections got based on Content...Makers should keep this in mind

These are films which were not strongly marketed by makers but there contents are soo refreshing (available in ott platforms )
The biggest problem this movie can face is bad dialogues...the same problem that brahmastra had. Music and cinematography will hit the mark but then story is another thing.

Only telugu movie maker I believe in apart from SS Rajamouli is NagAshwin. Nagis clarity, research, vision are just amazing. Hope he can pull this off. Prabhas will get another blockbuster after Salaar with Kalki
My expectations are sky high ,as someone who recently thoroughly enjoyed Dune and enjoy futuristic cinema , this is truly special. Our audiences are longing for our revered historical and mythological figures to be given proper representation.
But the biggest challenge Nag Ashwin will face is how will he make sure his newly created world is given time to be embraced and at the same time to give an engaging thrilling and meaningful story line under three hours . If pulled off this may be one of the biggest achievements of Indian cinema if not the best .
What If Hanuman ji Also Appears As he is a Chiranjeevi and is roaming the earth and he enters in the final battel in all its glory it would be something else !!
i have one question everybody is talking how prabhas is returning with bang and come and this and that.....but doesn't this teaser more of the return of the og amitabh bachhan(back in the his angry young man)back to action genre?i mean dont get wrong,amitabh has been keen on what project he should do,but i felt like that one shot of amitabh where he was young ashwathama looking at distance made me exited.

Bro you don't know about Nag Ashwin his vision is far above than Ayaan the main thing in Naga Ashwin is his detailing please watch his previous movie Yevade Subramanyam and Mahanati you will understand

Yaar Anmol have you never read a book with more than 5 characters or what? Why is following the family dynamics in Salaar so difficult for you? No one has complained about this. You are one of the smartest film critics in India today and yet you complain about the very thing that makes Salaar such a masterpiece - its complex world.
Kamal Hassan is playing Kali, who had a back-story it self. King Parikshit (who was in his mother's womb when Ashwatthama tried to kill him with a Brahmastra) had some connection with Evil Kali.
Amitabh's Ashwatthama is like a anti-hero, who was evil in Mahabharata (story I mentioned above) & Shree Krishna took his mani (the gem on amitabh's forehead) and curse him to stay alive and bear pain until Bhagwaan Vishnu (who himself took 8th avatar inform of Krishna) takes his 10th avatar aka Kalki.
Kalki along with 7 Chiranjeevis (Hanuman, Parshuram, Ashwatthama etc) will end Yug of Kali and make world 'Paap mukt'.
Kali is nothing but a metaphor of bad, evil, cruel things we see in Kaliyug. He will persuade us against god and use humans as his army, you can he the predictions done in bhagwat-puran getting true when you see 'decline in dharma' in today's life. People are getting immoral and cruel.
That's why makers are promoting the movie with 'We are waiting for him'. Him here is no one but Kalki himself.
To attempt Mahabharat going by the original texts available is itself scary , to attempt filling the void with director's thought process is an adventure since Kalki is mentioned so are the sequences in scriptures, it is to be seen how close does Nag Ashwin keeps it or how subtly can he pull off. Best wishes. Great teaser, Amitabh Bachhan's younger self was flawless in teaser. The intensity of his owning the screen in 70s is something this generation can witness if everything goes according to plan. Always thought AB as Bhisma Ashwathamma was out of blue😅
Great to see the Indian movies evolution. If something fails that should not stop our production houses not to invest, if that so we will again move backwards towards the wasted era of only romantic adult movies where there is no imagination left. Just one request to all the actors, directors if they are using our old cultural values in the future movies, don't call them mythologies, those are not myths for us as Ramayana and Mahabharat were real for this land.
This Gossip critic is pretending as if Salaar is a dud of a film. Salaar was not a great film, but is not bad either. It is a mammoth narrative exercise partially made successful.
And make no mistake Salaar 2 is going to be bonkers, no bollywood, kollywood movie is gonna make stuff like that for years to come. Prashanth neel made a movie like a game, of different armies and different arenas.
This director has a national award for his previous movie... guy is a genius and praised as such by the likes of rajmouli himself.. definitely not someone as om raut or any useles bollywood director.. he knows how to pull off
Please watch his first film with nani yevade subramanyam ,it is also a good film
