ludwig josh, It’s a tool assisted speedrun (TAS as it says in the title). Basically, every input that the player makes is used on an emulator and is timed perfectly to match what is most “ideal” outcome with the game and with the best knowledge possible (there are times when a TAS gets outdated because of new timesaving discoveries that were not known when a TAS was made, like the Diddy Kong racing game), so that the game can be completed in a theoretical best time. No doubt that the player may have made mistakes while playing, so they use the emulator to capture and save every part that they’ve played perfectly, and rewind if they made any mistakes or don’t have the most ideal outcome (like not getting a critical hit on a monster, or the player died while on heroics mode), or slow down the game if there are inputs that are too fast for us humans to pull off, and then play the recording back at normal speed once every ideal input has been made.
