LOVE THIS DUO! Can't believe they quit singing, or at least I haven't heard a new CD in a long time. Hope I'm wrong or they come out with a new one soon!
Just came across some cds someone was selling and picked this one out. Felt in love with these 2 beautiful ladys of country music once listening to their songs on this compact disc. Liked a couple of the songs Like, You look at love that way / What it does to me / I dont want you to know and this one, Como se dice.
I went so far as to look up Como Si Dice and Te Amo in a Tejano dictionary. Now, the story makes sense. The sound is hypnotic, the lyric tells of a woman witnessing a man dreaming of another woman. I can see why there is anxiety in her voice.
WHOEVER did this video here, MISSPELLED IT. The CORRECT SPELLING IS, "COMO SE DICE". It means in spanish, "HOW Do YOU SAY?" It's NOT "si", because "si" means "YES" (spanish 101 PEOPLE, EVERYONE KNOWS what "si" MEANS IN ENGLISH), duuuuh. :-( LOL. :-) Anywaysss, i was BORN AND RAISED IN TX, And as a hispanic, Growing up in South TX, i LEARNED To LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC MORE Than i ever did with the spanish Artists. When i was a little girl, we'd watch "The Donny and Marie Show", "The Carol Burnett Show", "Late Night With Johnny Carson", "Hee-Haw", etc., etc., so Obviously, i KNEW WHO these LOVELY COUNTRY Artists were WAY BEFORE i knew WHO Lola Beltran Or Vicente Fernandez were. It took me quite a while BEFORE i later on began to ALSO LIKE spanish Artists (MY #1 LOVE IS STILL COUNTRY MUSIC). :-) Yeeeeeeeeeehhaaaaaaaaww, haha. :-)
The Sweethearts started together around 1976. They both worked at a club in Redondo Beach Calif Called The Sweetwater Café. I did stage lighting an worked for them at the Sweetwater. They were dating the owners of the club at the time. I don't like country music but love the Sweethearts and the memories.

Dale!! and maybe?? instead of saying I don't like country music.. its such a SWEEPING statement for so MANY absolutely amazing ways of singing what is called "COUNTRY" that to lump them in one I DON'T LIKE... it's like.. well for one.. there is the likes of GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN.. a tribute to a friend who has passed on and what a BEAUTIFUL SONG it is. my WORD it just kills me. and then there is .. the one that absolutely kills me... Your as smooth as Tennesee Whiskey my my my.. just sayin :)
