I was asked last year to do a Day of the Dead tutorial that anyone could do, regardless of their abilities with makeup/art. It's a bit simple but it is something that anyone can do :)
Also apologies for the editing in this one. My big computer (and so Final Cut Pro X) broke and till it's fixed I've had to edit on iMovie. I hope the step down in quality isn't too bad :/

One of the better tutorials out there--feels much more authentic than the rest. It encapsulates the whole spirit of Día de los Muertos. I mean, it's all about death and life and love: recognizing those who have died, celebrating their lives and how love continues on after death. You've got the death, obviously in being a skull, the life in the colorful flowers, and the love obviously in the hearts. For those reasons, this feels more culturally sensitive than other similar looks.
I upload a new video once a week (on Fridays. This one was an extra one) Haven't you been getting them?
If You Tube is glytiching for you then maybe you could follow me on something like my Blog, Facebook or Twitter? That way you would be kept updated with all my work :)
I enjoy her videos so much. I love in this one how she doesnt edit out the little mistakes she made. It gives it such a down to earth feel, like see its okay mistakes happen when your trying to this kind of thing. :)

Beautiful, expertly done . An accurate representation of the Catrina , I’m not Spanish or Mexican but I remember learning about it. The French have a depiction of this as well “ Jour de Le Mort “ , day of the dead . It’s around the same time as All Saints Day.

this is really beautiful! thanks for sharing it with us, and let me tell you that "dia de muertos" is one of my country's favorite celebrations, nowadays many people don't give it the importance that it has, but for me and my family is something that we do with so much love and respect for our loved ones that aren't with us us anymore, and yes, I also celebrate halloween wiht my nephews, but I also teach them about our traditions, and they're so proud of them:) best of both worlds!!
