I've lost some rotation mobility because of a bit of spinal fusion (to treat some scoliosis), but my goal is to improve overall function, and I think playing around with this simple maneuver might help me regain some ROM. I'm glad that you mentioned both the neck and hip are involved, too.

Excellent, thanks. Original Strength is the most helpful thing I have tried in eight years of searching for restoring my spine, hip and shoulder damage. I am supposed to get surgeries this month, but now I am wondering if I could change all that. I have only used rolling and baby crawling consistently for about five weeks. I am already committed for surgeries though the VA because I have been working on getting them to do them for a very long time, but I am damn sure to be found crawling the minute I can! God bless.

People with lower back injury tendencies need to be careful with this. The lower back tends to go into flexion in that seated position. And flexion + rotation = disaster for those with lower back issues. What do you think?
I am grateful for your concern but I don’t necessarily share the same opinion - IF be careful means to avoid. If it means mindfully explore, I’m all for it. To avoid movement is to lose it. To explore movement is to gain it. Thank you, Leo.
komalthecoolk You can do it! It may not even be difficult to get there, it just may take a little playing around on the floor. The rocking and rolling drills may do the trick!
Hello, i mostly perform bodyweight/calisthenic exercises (90% of what i do...). If I play with weights, it is usually just "play". Nothing traditional as far as weight training goes. Lots of bodyweight squats, pushups, handstands, balance work, and carrying weight for distance (walk with weights or loads). Hope this helps.
I'm not really sure. That's an interesting question. I would guess having the ability to roll segmentally. Or maybe something really simple like being able to perform windshield wipers through full range of motion without the shoulder blades leaving the floor. That's really a great question. I may need to think ore on it. Thanks!
