When I went to Paris I blew out the power in our apartment because I plugged in my American curling iron and my family clogged up the plumbing in the building because of our American poops.

The way you guys have talked about romantic love has genuinely helped me be better to myself and have better standards for anyone I let into my life like that. You hold your standards higher and people rise to meet them. Or, you spend time being single and being alone with yourself, and you learn how to enjoy it and love yourself and figure out what you value most (my friends and family, my hobbies, being able to have fun and unapologetically be myself as loud and ridiculous as I am) and if people can’t rock with that, they gotta go. I realized the other day that even if I stayed single forever, I’d be okay bc my community is so fucking solid and wonderful. Y’all are doin the lord’s work frfr. Luv y’all 💖

That end bit is so true. My husband is just himself and has only been in 3 relationships but they’ve all been long term since he was 13 and he’s turning 28. And has had other girls try to intercept his relationships. People flock to him just in general. Truthfully, it’s so true that when you’re just unapologetically yourself people just want to be around you. I’d love some of that energy to rub off on me tbh lol
