You can use the path animation for things like this but to be able to easily position the end point it's best to reverse the path direction but then you need to add a second animation to each item such as a fade to make it start not visible. You would also need to adjust each path item separately to change the speed, so I think using Morph is the easiest and quickest approach for this type of animation.
It's called the Quick Access Toolbar and by default is above the ribbon and contains only a few options. You can add anything you like to it and have it below the ribbon on a PC, which is my recommended setup.
