This was more a discussion about Donald Trump's "possible" enneagram type than an in-depth discussion about enneagram type 8. Very frustrating, and not what the title of the video said it would be.

I want someone to study a combined western and eastern personality indications. Like say, Enneagrams and Chinese Zodiac sign personalities. Like, a person born year of the Dragon are usually go getters... most probably Enneagram 8.
2:45. My understanding is that 7s go to 5 when they are more healthy, 7s disintegrate to 1. You said the reverse. 1s go to 7 when they are healthy so that might have been what you meant.
I'm a HEALTHY 8 with a 2 subtype. INTJ/INTP/INFJ. middle range T and J. middle right and left brain. I want someone to freakin study me. My mom might be a super 8. I may hate her ways sometimes but she gets the job done. No unnecessary moves. Really brilliant and not perceived as scary by people but gets them moving.

I'm an 8w9, ENTJ, Aries sun, Aries moon, Sag rising. It's hard to think there is some introverted 8's floating out there. Does not compute

Donald Trump is an unhealthy 3 who is constantly mistyped as an 8. Donald is deeply committed to his own image, concerned with public perception, he’s an extrovert, and competitive with everyone, whether they are competing against him or not. 8’s are always SEEN as competition but rarely care enough about other people to provoke unnecessary competition with them. 3’s want to be admired - notice Donald is always happy with someone when he is complimented, and always forgives someone when they apologize.
8’s think compliments are worth exactly 2 cents, and no matter how sorry you are they are unlikely to ever forgive.

Type 1 is the worst leader of an 8. A compliance end process freak who has authority over an 8 is hell - we care about core principles and outcomes, not process and rules.
The other way around is absolutely true as well.
I appreciate your perspective on the Enneagram types in general but I disagree with your statement that an 8 is never a bully. I have two friends who are 8s and, while I value their loyalty and deep hearted love and friendship (if you can get past their tough exterior) in anger they have a shoot first, ask questions later mentality. As a result when I unintentionally hurt one of them, I was on the receiving end of an angry outburst that resulted in very hurtful and abusive language coming from them. You’re right to say stand your ground. Standing my ground and explaining my side of things calmed them down and even resulted in an apology from them, but they can absolutely be abusive in anger, to relationship damaging points, and that is bullying, in my opinion. Jennifer Parham I don’t think you understand what a bully is. A bully intentional and habitually will come after the weak to make themselves seem superior. What your friend did is because you did something that probably made them feel like you didn’t care about their feeling/values. Unfortunately this is what we do when we feel like someone belittles our feelings/values. You said they apologized to you, they meant it with all their heart. Sounds like you keep holding on to that one moment. Eights would never hurt anyone out of their own selfish ambition only in self defense they will attack or in defense of others.
Bullying requires malice aforethought, you can be a criminal but that doesn’t mean you planned it out to intentionally pour your feelings of inadequacy on another. They may be explosive, confrontational or “shoot first think later”but they don’t revel in your pain such as bullies do feeding off of the energy it gives them. That’s why they are often misunderstood but everyone knows a bully does their actions with exacting intent & planning. 8’s will not. Most 8’s suffered such heartbreak in their childhood that they adapted by fortifying that large heart they have.
Will always see trump as a 3 with 8. 3s love 8s. Like how trump loves Putin.

I can totally see your theory that Donald Trump is a counter phobic 6 instead of an 8! I'm an 8w9 sp/so and i find trump very different then myself, his very concerned of what others think of him and is more focused on people pleasing, things I never consider as an 8. 8s have a natural confidence which doesn't come from pleasing others or a need/want to be noticed for it and praised. I dont see trump is like that what so ever, he loves the lime light and attention, seems to feed his ego which is very unlike an 8 who has natural confidence within themselves.

Exactly, I just feel that 8 are surrounded by dumbs who just follow the rules "let me in peace in my little safe place"(6 unhealthy), 9 completely disconnected. The majority can't sense bullsh*t like an 8 does. Anyone who takes the time to LISTEN, really LISTEN Donald Trump (and have a brain functioning correctly) can't say that he is crazy or doing things for his damn ego. Every personality can be a narcissist. My mother was a nice church lady who helped a lot of people. Somehow it was always about her though. I inherited some of her narcissism and I'm a 5. All politicians either are narcissists or have a strong narcissist streak. They need it. I mean this as a kindness, be careful of calling people narcissists and distrust other people who do it. One of the easiest ways of getting people to hate someone is to call them a narcissist. Everyone hates narcissists including other narcissists.
I personally disagree, I feel like trump is a 3 then an 8. He just doesn't have the proper 8 qualities. Only stereotypes.
It’s actually, 3’s (grandiose/ antagonistic), 1’s (communal )& 2’s(covert) all which have the potential to be malignant are the most common narcissists in the enneagram truthfully. 3’s are the classic overt, heinously competitive & ambitious will will step any anybody & rally followers due to their often high ranks over years of investing in themselves & their “goals”. Ones have a dualistic nature where they live to appear to the outside world as if they are pillars of moral integrity often hiding behind religion or occupational roles that symbolize fairness or societal balance but they themselves feel as if they do not have to abide by these or will lie to any measure to save face of their rage filled attempts to knock down or ‘even the playing field’ of those who they feel didn’t have to “work as hard as they did” or are naturally better at something than they are , more perfect (better looking , money status) if they feel that individual “doesn’t try”. Very jealous & always measuring. 2’s are secretly desperate for attention, accolades & worthiness to the degree of vain glory, deceit, manipulation & undermining those who don’t recognize or appreciate their efforts.

As an 8w9 I can't stand bs and call it out pretty fast. Sadly, when things "turns to $hit" we are the ones taking the lead, while everyone in crying in their corner.
As an 8, I found this video to be pretty much useless. You spent most of the time talking about Donald Trump, who is CLEARLY AN 8. You spent about 20 seconds talking about things that were overtly obvious. And then you yammered on like two young girls.
It's no wonder that we don't like other types because they fail to get to the point. And in the time that it takes you to deliberate, I could have conquered a whole nation.
