Pretty much agree with much of what you’ve said. 5 year old Californias are still selling for €45k plus. So it’s a great long term investment. Not sure there’s hot water though but you can always boil a kettle. I think the reason people go for these is their versatility. Very clever use of space that you go take anywhere. Great camper.
We need to go camping together so I can show you how to stand up in the lower cabin 😊 that’s not a pillow 😂
🤦🏼🤣
When the canvas roof is up ,you can push the roof of the van up out of the way so you can stand up downstairs
Also, it doesn't have hot water, only cold water , a beautiful van, though
😊
Is the canvas roof a fairly new addition? I didn’t notice it in this vehicle.
Yep simply push the top bed up when not in use
It is great in a parking space but the misses doesn't want to pee in the bushes on your off grid place.

@@NobbyOnCars and there's also the collapsable Bivvy Loo Camping Toilet and Thretford Porta Poti 345 chemical toilet both of which take up minimal space and avoid using the bushes.
You'd wana be crazy to pay for this! Almost never see these on Irish plate's and I'm not surprised.
I’m in Dublin and I see a fair few. Not everyday obviously but enough of them.
I’m on the road all day every day, I see quite a few of them
Love it, its expensive but as you say if you use it it'll pay for itself, use it once a year and its kind of a waste.
Seems really well thought out.
Does it come with a towbar or bicycle rack?
Loads of different accessories either factory or aftermarket. Shure probably the best bet!
I use a bike pack on the tow bar and it seems to be more practical than having a permanent bike rack fixed and a lot cheaper too.
How do ya get into the roof bit 😅
Feet on the front armrests and a pull up 😀
@@NobbyOnCars feet never go on the armrests, use the kitchen unit to push up onto the roof bed its easier and you will avoid expensive repairs.
You mentioned hot and cold water? Is that new on the 'edition' cali's?
There's no hot water facility provided unless you boil the kettle, the onboard shower is cold and primarily for cleaning off shoes, cooling the dog or cleaning sandy feet If you need pumped hot water you can always buy a Kampa Geyser and it plugs in for a hot water shower.
More than just a concept, this van has more and has done more than that tiny T7 could hope for....... ua-cam.com/video/fagf28lcMgE/v-deo.html
ps: our roof doesn't need electricity or strut replacements.
They need to do away with the stupid gas stove-a waste of space.
Why did VW in 60 years make their camper vans much uglier?
I disagree, these campers are beautiful
