- New Volkswagen T6.1 California Beach at North Cronulla November 2020.
The California Beach launches late 2020 with deliveries soon after for the fortunate first 30 owners.
KombiLife takes an initial look and walkaround the California Beach at the launch event at the Surfing NSW Tradie Surfmasters at North Cronulla Beach
Note - this is the 4MOTION model :)
I would not have ordered a California beach without help from Mark and the VanEssa products. Would have liked an ocean but only want a picnic vehicle so I think I will be happy enough. Thanks Mark for your website and help.
Ordered mine in August when the second lot of 30 vehicles went on sale in Australia. It’s been manufactured but is sitting in Germany waiting for a ship. Was supposed to leave 3 weeks ago but still haven’t heard when it will be heading to Australia due to COVID-19 lockdowns I’m told. Delivery was to be 25/01/2021 but now it will be February or March or later.... 😢🚐 I can’t wait to drive it. Paid the extra for the larger motor which together with the all wheel drive should take me most places I want to go. 😎
Patiently waiting for delivery also. Expected early March.
@@bunsenburner2693 yes I’ve been told 10/03/21 but I’m not holding my breath. I have the name of the ship that mine is on and it’s off the east coast of Africa. But the ship sat still for a few days over the new year so I’m not sure if that will delay it even more. It’s such a slow process. With no borders open currently I’ll just be exploring locally once it arrives. 🚐🗺
How did you go mate!? How’s the car hold up
My Cali arrived in February. She’s fabulous and I’m so glad that I placed my order. I was starting to doubt my purchase decision but now that I’ve taken her on 2 adventures I’m loving every minute. People walk up to me and ask about her. She is just perfect for what I need. The driving is effortless. She is perfect as my everyday car and as my holiday home on wheels. I’ll be seeing a lot more of Australia now that I have her.
@@lawrencecallan4251 see my reply above. Sorry I put it in the wrong place. 🙃
Oh we love this new Cali. 😊👍Great demo of the vehicle Mark. Now all we need to do is get you and the cali out for some 4motion action. 🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙
Too bad the Aussie version doesn't come with the the stove, fridge, sink and water tank. Quite disappointing really. Great review video though.
No fridge or cooking facilities on board?
Wouldnt call that a camper, no descent storage, no cooking or anything I'd expect in a camper. The price is pretty steep for what it is too.
What is it with review videos that insist on having crap music in the background? It makes a really good video become annoying
Almost said Vanessa Mobil camping :) in beginning. Rippa video sport.
Thanks for the encouragement!! Looking forward to creating some more videos soon as the Californias arrive.
Can’t believe that it’s a short wheelbase,why?
How much ? Crazy price !
This is exactly what I was looking for but these beach not available in New Zealand. May I know how much in Au?
Watch that space - might be coming to New Zealand :)
@@vwkombiman thanks for your reply, I ordered multivan because dealer told me beach will not available in Nz, otherwise I could wait for it. May I know how much is it? Thank you
Thanks for the quick walk through. Happy about the roof rack rails! Didn't know the diesel heater was standard either. Hope u get another chance for a more in-depth walk through without the wind and bg sound effects.
Depends on all the options you choose but close to AU$95,000 for the base model I think and then keep adding for LED head and tail lights, larger twin turbo diesel motor, etc etc. definitely not cheap but 5 year warranty on it. Fits in a standard car space/garage and is 4Motion (all wheel drive) so perfect for Australian conditions. Sliding doors on both sides means it can be registered in Australia as must have sliding door on passenger side. No stove or fridge built in due to second sliding door.
@@dakashades So stove/fridge will never be available in AU then... :(
Unless regulation changes or VW puts the stove/fridge on the right, both of which are highly unlikely
Is the diesel heater standard?
Yes, and I used mine recently in Glen Inness when it was -6° outside and it worked perfectly. But you need to set it up before you use it the first time so watch the UA-cam video by “California Chris” which explains what to do and how it works.
A good review, shame about the annoying music.
Does the air-conditioner run from mains power?
The diesel heater runs independently of the engine however the Air conditioner only runs when the engine is running
Would be great if it didn't cost nearly 100,000 dollarydoos.
Does it come in a lwb?
No only SWB
Thanks for the movie. Boring with the plipp plopp music, very disturbing.
Lose the music , 🤬
Music ruins it
