Nice, simple approach. I've spent the last few days evaluating all of the different schemes/products out there and each have their own warts. Be it complexity, cost, interference, noise - every approach had something that felt like a compromise to me. This approach however is German Shepard simple. Love the usage of the Honda engineered sound baffle manifold (noise, check). Love that it's still under unaltered covers (no cutting/alteration, check). Love that with 4 pop pins I can get into service the filter (easy access, check). Love that it's not consuming my limited trunk area or requiring power to run (complexity/interference, check). Totally KISS. There is nothing wrong with Honda's air filtration system - it's top notch. What they lack is exactly what you've suggested. All that's missing is a Honda built access door and a manifold pre-filter option.
What you guys did with the intake was like the story about how NASA spent millions to come up with a pen that would write in zero gravity for the astronauts meanwhile the Russians used a pencil. F**king brilliant.
Just saw your video today. I’m very interested..as I am currently running a uni inside the air box. Tired of taking air box apart every time to clean it. How is this filter and sock holding up since your video? Thanks
Been working great. Have taken it off to clean it a few times as it definitely picks up dust. Also have checked the factory air box filter at the same time to see how the prefilter was performing and the main filter had remained clean.
Awesome!! Love the idea of just taking off the small plastic grill to service the pre filter!!Thanks for replying man! I like your vids also. Look forward to more Talon stuff

@@WhiteCollarRedneck I was curious about how this was working out as well. No issues with the Uni element coming off the intake horn? Picking up the same model next weekend and want to start with some sort of pre-filter. Keep the Talon videos coming 🤘

Please do an update on this when you service it.
We love to see all the steps of the installation. You tend to skip to the finished install. As a new owner of a Talon I am loving your vids.
Not much to this one, just slipping a filter over the intake bell. Will try and be more detailed on future mods.
One additional question for you. Does the air horn cover come off the intake baffle without cutting? Bolt or snap off? Thanks.

That tailed/bed extender who makes that

More detail please. Does this restrict air flow, change performance?
Parts list please

Tks for the part numbers. I like this solution way better than cutting up plastic. At least for the first few years of my new talon.
Thanks
How is this working out ? Can you remove the filters without pulling off the plastics ? Thanks!
It has been working good. You can service it by just pulling the 4 plastic rivets holding the intake grille on the fender

@@coltjester We ran it so hard at the Dunes that the rear Axle CV boots came off, but the filter stayed on
@@WhiteCollarRedneck Rad, that’s good to hear, thanks! I’ll start with that setup. 👍
Does the horn cap just come off, or did you have to cut it off? Super interested in doing this on mine. Thanks, good idea
