Man... this must've been fun to see live. I seriously love punk because it's not about having an elegant singing voice it's just raw emotion and saying stuff that's shocking or true, sometimes both.
no, what sucks is being 47 and watching yourself 40 pounds lighter stagediving on youtube. before you had 3 kids who say the music you listen to is crap. when i occasionally see myself in these videos i sometimes wish was was born 20 years later so that i would be 27 now.
I was lucky enough to see MDC in their prime in Leicester England supporting Dead Kennedys in 82. They were awesome, and this video just confirms it. Many thanks for putting this up Cheers
i was in a hardcore/punk band about a year or two ago and we played 2 shows in 2 nights with MDC acoustic..it was Dave and a bassist..it was pretty bad ass, he is a really cool guy.
he lives in portland oregon and still plays shows ive seen them twice in the past year. i have the same shirt that hes wearing from one of his shows. sometimes he stumbles on his verses but hes kinda old now he also has lots of songs. hes still punk as fuck, nice guy too.
you didn't miss out, hardcore still happens and there's tons of good music out there, "music today fucking sucks" is just a shitty excuse for being too lazy to get off your ass, go to DIY shows, and seek out good music that isn't on the radio, TV or VEVO.
They also released an EP where the acronym stood for Multi Death Corporations (on Crass Records i think? the cover looks like the Crass releases). Anyway, MDC was/is fucking stellar hardcore punk.
MDC stayed in my basement in 1983. I toured with the Tales of Terror in 1984 (they also had a song names after me). Please don't tell me about "punk" OK? Punk went from an independent ideology that was more about being non conformist and anti authority to radical anarchists and communists who hate everyone who is not exactly like them. New punk = intellectual fascism.
I remember from back in the day, these guys and Jello Biafra had some differences with Agnostic Front and Bad Brains. I think the bands had differing socio-political views at the time.
For your information Odessa45, MDC have existed for more than 20 years, and still have a very large following. If you where a fan of the music they make you would have been aware of the fact that they are one of the most established hardcore punk bands.
This is definitely fan made. The live footage looks like the same show that Flipside recorded and released a couple of songs from on one of their video tapes back in the mid 80s.
hey friend i spoke with dave saturday on facebook there going on tour next week from the west cost up to texas-denver back home 16 gigs in total but not crossing the border to cana-duh sucks for me did see them 2x in the very early 90s when punk was still real not a hollywood money grab hope you all get to see them they were in the middle of a C.D. but there drummer quit and had to restart hope this helped you out stay punk the more of us there is the more change we can bring
You should check out their 1st Lp/CD and then see if it's just 'noise'. Noone says that you have to like it, it's all just personal taste, but listen to that one and you'll likely have a different impression. Also, Michael Jackson (still) has millions of fans, just like GNR. So what does that matter when ya think about it? MDC are one of the BEST U.S. hardcore bands EVER. Noise? Nooooo...
They left a tour with Big Boys and left a note that said "Rot in Hell, bloodclot faggot" (according to some sources that's what it said, but I'm not sure how positive on that. numerous sources have agreed though) after discovering Big Boys' singer was a homosexual.
Trust me I'm not a "right wing conservative" I'm an independent thinker, I have some traditional conservative as well as liberal political views but my soul is libertarian. I'm not trying to bash punk (I still listen to it) but it sucks to see how the "scene" has become so lemming like when it comes to politics. I thought the government was the enemy and not the solution?
@pittsky i dunno, man. they came to minneapolis a couple months ago, and it was a pretty wild show. not like something you'd see in the 80's of course, but that's understandable given that hardcore was at it's peak then and has since fizzled out. the crowds are not something MDC can control. but who gives a fuck about the crowds anyways? it's about the music. it still kicks ass, dave is still a fucking character, and i'd take it over green day ANY day, hahahaha!
@pittsky Umm I like them even now they are still hardcore shore Dave cant hit all the notes the same or move as well but hes gettin older its wat happens he still knows how to kick it though Ive watched some ove there new shows and well there crowds suck what can I say most of them just stand around If MDC comes to my city im gona go and do crazy shit cause I love MDC now and forever.
Great song played too fast. The 82 bands really had a thing for recording songs perfectly then playing them live so fast you couldn't even dance to it. Fun, but not really Cal on vocals era Discharge fun.
@numnutth bud i grew up in the 70`s and 80`s and we were so fortunate to have been around for the haydays of hardcore,,,the music scene today fukin blows,,i havent heard a good hardcore band since 89,,lol
no, i thought he was just talking about how stupid homophobia was. like, bad brains didnt want to play with them and big boys on rock against regan because they found randy turner was gay, not dictor. like, i thought since they got so pissed about randy when they found out, if dictor was gay, they just wouldnt even consider doing the show in the first place.
this was posted june 3 2013 if anyone reading this goes to a gig and films it...... any shot of a copy reaching a punk starved fucker like me in ontario cana-duh
" NO SUCH THING as a Black or Latino " thats because black and latino people, historicaly havent commited the horendious acts of slaughter, war and destruction that WASPs have shown a talent for,
Man... this must've been fun to see live.

I'm 51 quit making excuses dude and own it right now
one of the best bits of live early mdc footage, he is a crazy energetic person. one of the best bass lead ins ever.
MDC : Brilliant band, brilliant cause. READ THE LYRICS EVEN IF YOU HATE THE MUSIC.
I was lucky enough to see MDC in their prime in Leicester England supporting Dead Kennedys in 82. They were awesome, and this video just confirms it. Many thanks for putting this up Cheers
i remember watching this when i was like 12 years old ...def very memorable punk song
i was in a hardcore/punk band about a year or two ago and we played 2 shows in 2 nights with MDC acoustic..it was Dave and a bassist..it was pretty bad ass, he is a really cool guy.
I think MDC still plays shows
playing in east los soon
i fucking love this! so much raw energy diverted into the song! i fucking missed out on it all... why did i have to be born in 97??
he lives in portland oregon and still plays shows ive seen them twice in the past year. i have the same shirt that hes wearing from one of his shows. sometimes he stumbles on his verses but hes kinda old now he also has lots of songs. hes still punk as fuck, nice guy too.
I remember this from years ago, it's killer
As someone who's played GTA 5 this actually fucking slaps when you hear it in the radio
Absolutely. I'm so glad us of the younger generation our learning of great classic music thanks to stuff like GTA's radio.
I saw this band two days ago. I defy you to create anything that could pump a crowd up so much, and get such a massive pit rolling.
Yeah, used to see MDC at least once a year in the early 80's, fantastic. Thanks for the post
Love Dave, he’s a great dude!
you didn't miss out, hardcore still happens and there's tons of good music out there, "music today fucking sucks" is just a shitty excuse for being too lazy to get off your ass, go to DIY shows, and seek out good music that isn't on the radio, TV or VEVO.

I didn't know Steve-O was the singer for MDC!
Jajajajajajaja lol your a genius
one of the best bits of live early mdc footage, he is a crazy energetic person.
I remember from back in the day, these guys and Jello Biafra had some differences with Agnostic Front and Bad Brains. I think the bands had differing socio-political views at the time.
mate i saw MDC live like 3 years ago, they were fuckin amazing, got chatting to them and they brought me a pint, nice people

There are a lot of great bands out there, but ya just don't hear them on the radio. I'm doing my best to get them on FM. Cheers... Buzz Cartier
@oramikleepunk this is from Target Video of san francisco 1980's.

For your information Odessa45, MDC have existed for more than 20 years, and still have a very large following. If you where a fan of the music they make you would have been aware of the fact that they are one of the most established hardcore punk bands.

You should check out their 1st Lp/CD and then see if it's just 'noise'. I thought the government was the enemy and not the solution?
The solution is MORE DEAD COPS!
Haha at 0:41 he looked like steve-o!

You need to read their lyrics. They have very intelligent points.
Even so, good song.
John Wayne was not a Nazi. He married Mexican women for fuck's sake. Still a great song though.
