i love their music and own the dvd "mysterious skin".......that having said, i must say that this music did not exist 60 years ago and that is when my memory of wandering through the city of bordeaux dates back to.
now i am trying to fit this music into that memory, which includes drifting into the town of st. emilion where i got drunk on st. emilion......i am an old man now, but back then i was a teenager , i must say these languid notes fit well with the memories of that hot, sunny day
That's a great story man, and a great movie too. Thanks for sharing it!
To be honest, it never occured to me that the record is about the city of Bordeaux (to me, is nearly pure abstraction and can't even remember the names of the songs, is like a big circle that never ends) and adding that i don't know France at all, your story is a nice reference to me. And is awesome that the music fits with your memories! Love the music even more. Thanks!
Beautiful memory. How wonderful that this music inspired it.
Have you heard the last song that played in "Mysterious skin"? When the camera goes upwards as they are sitting on the couch? It's called "Samskeyti" by Sigur Ros.
@@JT-ss6si yes, i am a huge fan of sigur ros.......they have this 9 hr long video on line during a real road trip through iceland....love it
@@EdodeweertBlogspot Yes i watched it for like ten minutes then did something else. I love them and i love Jonsi. Sorry to sound like a corny fan, lol.
RIP Harold Budd. had to come and spin this x
Amen. I'll be spinning this the rest of my days.
Music for a walk through the forest on a cold night. Evocative, emotional, sublime!
RIP Harold. Your music brings joy and transcendence and mystery.
This music makes me sad, but strangely, it seems to lighten my depression...
I'd call it melancholic, not sad. It's a really beautiful place, actually. Welcome.
one of the most wonderful people in my life has introduced this music to me and i Love them.
Same ~ Andre
Simplesmente magistral👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
loved listening to you Harold rest in peace
My sentiments too.
Maybe the Budd/Guthrie masterpiece! Perfect from the first to the last second! Among the best ambient music ever made! Bless them!
I agree, and I have heard a lot of ambient for 35 years now
This album is the only piece of peace left in this world 🌎 through my eyes, I feel emotions I could never feel. Harold Budd and RG gave me this gift. My thoughts come here to find serenity
Somehow his music transports me to one particular place from my childhood where I spent most of my time, it was around these very old trees in a park, it was like my secret garden. Since it was very hard to reach there, people usually avoided it, but I was curious and lucky enough to discover that place, a place where I have no more worries, it was my wonderland, Harold's layers and textures and subtle yet gentle piano reminds me of that place and I sitting on the bark of tree.
I love this place in your childhood!
Your secret garden is incredible, amazing.
Solid human.
How very cool 😊. I know exactly what you mean 👍🏻.
I went to a place like that in the summer of 89 next to a wooded pond behind a castle in Berlin. The area was otherwise working class apartment buildings. Only I ever sat there that summer.
Enthralling majestic emotional magical exquisite timeless.....
Esto sí es verdadera música ambiental.
Belleza sonora en estado puro.
Gracias!
This beautiful music sends me to a place of serenity and peace, god bless you. Rip Harold.😍😍
My dog loves this album, it calms her down to no end
As a father of 3, this music brings me back to that peace and headspace needed to deal. Ergo, this music makes me a better dad....ergo the world is a better place.
So much dark beauty 🖤⚓
Words fail to describe how I feel when I hear this. I guess that's the point.
this artist music is amazing and magical i like how the music makes you feel from listening from it
One of the best albums of all time!!!
stunning
Bravissimo. So beautiful and profound, this music work as a muse for me.
so nice how he creates by creating absences, and the presence arrives by itself
Way too wonderful. I love these guys so much.
Dream music. Also love Plateaux of Mirror.
RIP Harold Budd.
This album found me
Southern Shore - 38:24 may be their absolute best effort ever.
just spellbinding, transcending sound.
someone in the comments described it as «watching your child play and grow», and I have to agree, although I've not one.
in the end, we all are our own children; we have to nourish that inner child.
this music is indeed a balm the soul longs for.
and these final piano notes ... oh my...
H.B., rest in peace you glorious legend 💜🙏
Well put 👍🏻. Thank you for sharing that 😊.
I don't know where this music transports me to. It's neither here nor there. And I'm content with that.
I am too 😊
so nicely.. the best tracks for me was: ´L áventure & Southern Shore...
Stunning yet Peaceful.
Amazing! Thanks for up. Gracias
I'm compatible with this musics
Wish I had this on a walkman in 1986, when I hitched into Bordeaux...
This dude's music really moves me. Love this stuff.
Marvelous
Gracias Matias ,muy bello.
My love
This is Ecstatic.
Excellent!!! A masterpiece album!!! ❤
Hi from Japan. Also loved Budd's work with Daniel Lanois, and with Brian Eno.
Plateau of Mirror and The Pearl are incredible works
It is a other world..... Freedom..
Masterpiece...!!!
RIP Harold Budd... damn you Covid 19
Exactly, my friend, exactly!
L'Aventure 24:18 is something else. Even by Guthrie/Budd standards
astral music
Both truly ahead of their time and ahead of this one. Darla Records put it quite nicely when they said, “...the signature style of each combine to create a complimentary union so rare and sublime.”
Played something of his while with a woman. After that she never forgot Harald Bud
this album is perfect for meditation.
lovely
lovely ... as Thunder
@@michaelmoon-dreamtimepoet6204 ....yes
This Budd’s for you. Haunting summer breezes, rays of light dancing on the waves, leaves shifting on three, bunches of grapes ripening in the sun. Images I see in my mind’s eye 👁 listening to this evocative music.
Прекрасный альбом!
nice
I love to hear when I go to bed.
Why do I cry EVERY TIME I hear the first song? It’s so exquisite it literally drives me to tears. Perhaps “God” is in there somewhere?
I cry too...
The final song "Southern Shore" affects me in that way.
I had no idea Robin Guthrie was doing this after The Cocteau Twins and it's such a natural progression too.
It's beautiful but i have to say that, to me, the best work from Robin after Cocteau Twins is with Harold Budd. His solo albums are kind of "incomplete" to me. They are great albums, don't get me wrong, but the Guthrie-Fraser-Raymonde triad was such a good combination.
And this is rather late. Before this album there are at least 2 others, the Misterious Skin OST and the Day/Night twin-albums. And after Bordeaux there is Winter Garden.
I think he is missing Ms. Fraser...
@@StefanConstantinDumitracheI think this album and Mysterious Skin are my favorites.
great cover -- let em free
This is my favorite album in the whole world. When the first song starts, the first thing that crosses my mind is a slow moving shot of passing light posts as I drive. I think i am going to record that and use the first song as a soundtrack for the video.
MA-RA-VI-LHO-SO......🤩
I went to the first concert and 2nd concert. 1st night over 1 million fans and 2 night slightly lower crowd. Diana Ross arrived to both concerts ready to work and she wowed the world. Global Superstar. Diana Ross.
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
This is so wonderfull, but I Can´t avoid wait for Liz start to singing.
Great 👍
Thanks for taking the trouble to upload this soothing balm.
From 23 mins in...there is a 10 min sequence that is pure joy and beauty.
E' bello scoprire di non essere soli
Hai ragione. È davvero bello.
great
Nice.
🌹💐🌺💐🌹
The world melts away and I'm left in sweet liquid meloncholy.
Thank you for your words!
Yes, I agree.
ABSOLUT EINZIGARTIG::WAHRE SOUNDMAGIER:::!!!!!!
If I were a filmmaker, I'd use at the very least the introductory song as a film score.
I'm not sure whether the first song, like some others on here, is sad or uplifting. Perhaps it can be both, or perhaps something else I can't put my finger on.
So Many Short Years Ago 11:59 sounds like a lost track from The Moon and the Melodies.
Excellent drift music with a good cup of pour-over coffee and a bowl of Medical enabling one to drift into an Other World plane-of-consciousness most beautiful, simultaneously, making 'conscious contact' with one's Higer Power: in my case, Asar Un-nefer (YHWH-OSIRIS) of the Pyramid text.
GANG
ワトソンd gang of what?
RIP Harold Budd.mais étais ce vraiment le cov sars 2 ??!!!!!!étonnant...................
