nice one!
@@JMG72ARG Thank you 😊 Dream Pop is food for my soul.
Beautiful.how could it be otherwise.from Cocteau.through Violet and soloist.Robin. and singers. He is like a musical guardian angel. His songs will always be in me
It's only by comparing these vocals, with Elizabeth, that you can realise, how unique and astonishing her talents were. Immaculate guitars from Robin, but Elizabeth was/is so special.....😢 I really believe, I won't hear anything like her again, before I die.
She's still around
@@drwatson32bit I know. But she, can't produce the classic Cocteau Twins vocals, anymore.
The closest...

@G M Very nice. It would be interesting to see if she could produce the range of Liz if pushed.
And imagine what Robin and Simon would bring to the party.
Fine effort, though 👌
@@andy2950 It would be wonderful, unfortunately I don't think the vocalist won't sing again. It's very sad because it was a band with potential. 😿
Beauty!!!!Robin i love you!!!kristof from poland
Absolutely excellent compilation JM! Thank you so much for this. And thanks for introducing us to all these great singers and groups. Comes to show how great a musician Robin really is.
thanks, I agree!
kinda feels like im cheating on Liz's amazing vocals.. but these are lovely
Brilliant compilation! The music I enjoy most.
Yes, indeed, an excellent compilation 🤗 ... very helpful for tracking Robin's path after CT dissolved 😥
Very nice, thank you
p.s. it's Annie Barker
Beautiful voice
nice job putting this together
Love it🙏👁️🙌

Someday
You pull me near then push me away
I get why you’re so afraid
Maybe you’ll trust me someday
Don’t put him in my heart if you don’t want him there
Why cross our paths just to cause despair
And even though innocent souls break hearts
Choices have been made
And there’s always a price to pay
You’ve teased me long enough
Even though it has been rough
I still keep you near
I'm in love with this.
lol why is everyone in the comments saying "good but not as good as elizabeth! !" bro just enjoy the music
Exactly just like how taste is subjective/in the ear of the beholder
3rd’s a charmer!
Great love ❤️
robin is the most underrated artist
this keeps us staying alive stay healthy
You missed Solar - Resplandor, they are a dreampop chilean band
"Someday" by Fawns of Love is phenomenal. Chord sequences are sweet.
their album Permanent is all great
@@JMG72ARG Absolutely.
They're grotesquely underrated, they've some phenomenonal music
Umas das músicas mais delicadas e belas que eu já ouvi!
As guitarras de Robin são as mais belas e delicadas do mundo!
totalmente
Realmente
Fawns of Love ♥♥♥
I agree!
This is all nicely done, but only goes to show what fabulous vocal melodies, harmonies and vocal arrangements Elizabeth Fraser came up with for the Cocteau Twins. Which (in my opinion) are always over shadowed by her extraordinary vocal performances.
Is it necessary to always compare this style of music with the Cocteau Twins ?
Of course we can't help thinking about Cocteau when we listen to that. But, all these musics have there own qualities and interesting atmospheres. I've been listening to Cocteau Twins since a long time and had strong experiences, but I really appreciate this selection without making any comparisons or reference. I have nothing against you, it's just a simple reflection. I mean there's a risk of considering these pieces as second choices or copies!
@@a.b.c.8816 can we just let people compare music if thats what they want to do ? Who is it harming exactly
@@Coppersulfate81 I think that you make a confusion between a reflection and an order. I didn't say: "you must not compare". I just explained my idea about what a pity it is to compare", and I tried to say why. Of course, I can't stop you from listening music as you want...
@@Coppersulfate81 ... It's not a question of "harm". The problem when we compare is that we risk not appreciating this precise music itself. It's just a question of concentration on things.
@@a.b.c.8816 I do feel for those who can't seem to appreciate Robin's golden touch

Neither, Annie Barker or Ashen Ringlets have the vocal range like Elizabeth Fraser does. This is nice work and I sincerely mean no disrespect to the performers listed here; however, there is so much, which distinguishes Robin's guitar work with, "The Voice of God". People either have forgotten, or, never realized that Elizabeth has no formal music education; therefore, that's what separates Elizabeth from everyone else. As a self-taught singer, Elizabeth uses the techniques and a type of methodology, which are so regionally distinctive of Scotland itself. I'm not discussing about the heavy Scottish Brogue used by the Scott's, but her tongue folds words differently.
As a Psychiatric Professional, I've studied Elizabeth's vocals, from a clinical perspective. She suffers from, a form of Psychogenic Dysphonia, as a result from Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA), which constituted Elizabeth's inability to properly form and enunciation her lyrics - Essentially, speaking and singing are not exactly the same thing. After 40+ year's of super-fan dedication, the Cocteau Twins even influenced my area of expertise, combined with a form of hearing sensitivity myself, I've used music therapy to help "At risk youth"; the self-destructive, suicidal, behaviorally limited adolescents find healthy outlets' of expression. Plus, there are many singer's with Psychogenic Dysphonia to a lesser extent, unless one listens carefully.
However, Elizabeth Fraser is the only person in recorded music history, to have used, such a complete disability to her advantage. Robin would have better results playing with Björk, Enya, or even, Alice Glass the former singer of Crystal Castles. I prefer Robin by himself than playing along with singer's who, just mask his work. Robin's masterful guitar work is quite delicate and it desperately requires a voice that highlight's his perfection.
nice comment man, Liz for sure was putting authentic emotion into her singing, and for sure, CT music has a magical quality that can save you in dark times. One of my recurrent wishes is that they get back together before they get too old.
holy shit
Robin needs to work with voices that are strong. He'll never find another Elizabeth but needs to find one with a dynamic range to balance his ethereal sound. The last song approaches that mark.
they should just get back together, they are still young
@@JMG72ARG That's not about to happen, unless Elizabeth Fraser could finally forgive Robin, for all the abuses he inflicted on her.
Annie Barker is the last vocalist, and I've come across some great CT covers by her, I agree she has a beautiful and strong voice and is the most distinctive out of these vocalists....Cruel is also a fabulous song 💜
Can the op from up above on high give me life advice since you know everything
It's not all about "strong" voices...
Viejo sabroso
Is this on Spotify?
most of them are on spotify
Great, but I miss the voice of Elisabeth... It gives something unique to the music
they should get back together, they're still young
What? No Harold Budd?
harold budd plays too many bum notes
Dreamscapes a whole new genre...plus im pissed at all the shitting on this talent just because its not the originals....grow tf up
Mature but most likely not grown ups as yet.
