OMG, he literally fused his early version of the song idea, which sounded more folk music, and then switched it to Nile's rhythm style! What a treat to hear both versions in one arrangement!
For all the youngsters out there who stumbled upon this!THIS is what a true musician looks & sounds like! David Bowie will forever be one of the greatest!
He just embraced every era and never lagged. I've watched everything from the 60's to 2000's and he always looked up to date and new, never like an old rocker living in the past.
This guy's swag was pure sex. He was worth his weight in rock icon status. RIP David. I'm sorry I didn't realize how much you were worthy of your fanbase and more so late in my life. You truly will never be forgotten.
The Thin White Duke at his best! Oh how I miss this genius, inventing himself over and over again. But humble, allways humble. Forever in my hart, RIP David, missed forever ❤️🔥
Have you ever seen another star just stand, feet apart, clap his hands, and owns the stage just like that? Play that image in just silhoutte and it's unmistakable it can only be the Duke. It's a simple swag but somehow nobody else pulls it off!
Earl Slick was on guitar, Gerry Leonard played guitar and keyboards, and Mark Plati played guitar, bass guitar, and keyboards. Gail Ann Dorsey was on bass guitar, guitar, and backing vocals, and Mike Garson played keyboards. Sterling Campbell was on drums, and Catherine Russell played keyboards and percussion and sang backing vocals. Source = BowieBible
I would have paid a FORTUNE to be at this gig. It's far from being my favourite song by him but God, what a performance. Bowie is dazzling. I sometimes wonder if he's even human. It will take millions of light years for the Universe to ever get to see again a semi-god like Bowie.
This was the song everybody knew . My Mom went who is this David Bowie everyone is talking about ...I played this she screamed YASS.. That was my jam.. I wore that record out ...I said well it was David Bowie , LOL.
What I always loved about Bowie is that he was always experimenting pushing the artistry. Re-working the old stuff with a different sound. This is genius that few can and dare to do. I so glad that 54 I lived through most of it. This is mastery at work.
Bowie was amazing. I saw the Station to Station tour. When my daughter got married Let’s Dance was the song played as the Wedding Party (including me) entered the reception hall. It set the Party mode.
this song is one of my all time super favorites...loved it since I was a child...its so fucking dark and trippy and the baseline is just nhot from this earth...and bowie performs like usual...like he has eaten a bag of pure coolness for breakfast
Glorious version - I think it's my favourite to date - thanks for posting! And since we're thanking all sorts of people for this song, let's not forget to thank Nile Rodgers! That was one magnificent pairing - David Bowie and Nile Rodgers. Took Bowie's inner-funkster and made it phat, slick and gorgeous!
I remember one time riding in an elevator in an office building with my dad. A muzak version of a Beatles song came on - and it actually sounded pretty good. My dad looked at me and said, "You know how you can tell if a song is any good? You can perform it in any different style and it will always sound like it was made for that style." Bowie is a genius - and this is an excellent tune!
My God............................guitar....................................excellent interpretation.......................keboards...................bass............chorus................Mr. Dave Bowie
what a fb version os this song. He was so relaxed when he was performing and had a brilliant relationship with his band. My heart is still broken. He is the first artist who died that affected me like this. He was so sexy when he sang and his smile just melts your heart .I love thr way his band played at the end. Amazing musicians particularly Earl Slick who is so cool but an amzing musician. Love Gail , Gerry and Mike also but Earl is so cool he stands out. xxxDavid
Hi Jackie, you are so right when you say that he had a great relationship with his band; all of them are so so relaxed, the harmony is so natural. Most likely he was an easy guy work with, unlike some famous artists, namely Richie Blackmore..
OMG, he literally fused his early version of the song idea, which sounded more folk music, and then switched it to Nile's rhythm style! What a treat to hear both versions in one arrangement!
did the early version get released in demo form ever?
More jazzy
For all the youngsters out there who stumbled upon this!THIS is what a true musician looks & sounds like! David Bowie will forever be one of the greatest!

Me too!
This song is Life!
I ❤ this acoustic version of my all time favorite song 🎵 by Bowie- it brings me so much joy since the age of 11!!🌠🌠🌹🌟
Beautiful concept to define the energy that a song gives you!👍🏽🎶
He just embraced every era and never lagged. I've watched everything from the 60's to 2000's and he always looked up to date and new, never like an old rocker living in the past.
He did not embrace an era he defined them.
Wow, yes.
That voice...purely hypnotic. There will never be another one like it.
This guy's swag was pure sex. He was worth his weight in rock icon status. RIP David. I'm sorry I didn't realize how much you were worthy of your fanbase and more so late in my life. You truly will never be forgotten.
I feel the same way, I realized too late his genius..
Seems like so many of us didn’t appreciate his uniqueness and incomparable talent until late in our musical development.
David Bowie was the Big Dick Energy blueprint.
Two words, really: ROCK GOD
@@sidtrip1 Totally agree11
Only in my 40s and years after he’s gone, I begin to appreciate and understand Bowie’s music

This was the song and era that got me into David Bowie at 14. What a fantastic version.
Época maravilhosa, minha adolescência ❤
the bass player is the coolest bassist ever!!!

Gail Ann Dorsey was on bass guitar, guitar, and backing vocals, and
Mike Garson played keyboards.
Sterling Campbell was on drums, and

Beautiful version of Lets dance. So cool to see his musicians grooving and having fun.
A song that has been released 37 years ago, still rocks.!!!
Just one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet...so sincere and such a cool man.
I agree
I would have paid a FORTUNE to be at this gig. It's far from being my favourite song by him but God, what a performance. Bowie is dazzling. I sometimes wonder if he's even human. It will take millions of light years for the Universe to ever get to see again a semi-god like Bowie.
