That was very cool of Good Charlotte. First thing that came to mind when I saw the title was their collab on "The River" 😃
That song is very nostalgic! Always loved it
Song they made together "The River" is still one of my favorites from Good Charlotte, really nice collab.
"The River" GOAT song
City of evil is a guitar masterpiece still one of my fav albums
Dude, the first time I heard Beast and the Harlot on Guitar hero it absolutely blew my mind. I thought, "I have to buy this album" and I searched so hard till I found it. Best album discovery of my teens! Know every song by heart.
Same, low key have a deathbat tattooed across my back because of guitar hero 3 on PS2 🤣😂
Opposite for me. The cover was bad and I immediately dismissed them. Years later after Rev died, I rediscovered them through Afterlife and became a fan.
Good charlottes album Good morning revival is really a great album and M shadows is on the song “the River “ which is an amazing song .
Don’t forget the Syn did the solo for it too. Very distinctive solo
@@danhan121 a very simple solo for Gates but somehow still amazing and tasty
This is why it’s important to be good to people.
Exactly! At least I really try to be. Unless I'm hungry, thirsty, but especially if I'm way over exhausted. I get the reactive hypoglycemia medical term for my condition because of my heart high blood pressure condition. Born with it. I'm so sorry for my trouble I caused anyone else in Huntington Beach CA by the way too. I didn't know my fullest extent of my medical conditions until I got here to Des Moines Iowa by the way. I nearly died from not having it treated by the way too but I'm glad that I did get it done now for sure.
I remember when i heard Beast and the Harlot intro for the first time, i just literally fell in love with it even before hearing the song.
I heard the intro and 'boom!' that is it, im in love with it
same literally
It's my favorite album
Beast and the harlot one of the best songs
Ive been a fan since the trumpet sounded. These guys are always evolving.
Just goes to show you that maybe you haven't heard some of your favorite albums yet, because they didn't get enough press. Lmfao weird to think about.
Interviewer obviously hasn’t heard ‘The River’ by Good Charlotte. Thought it would have at least been mentioned
Yeah this rockfeed guy doesn’t do his homework very well … it’s irritating sometimes .
@@davidpascual9571 I mean, why should he ? There is no reason for him to know every song a band member has been featured in. His "homework" is on A7X, nothing more.
@@mikechartofilis ITS LITERALLY HIS JOB TO KNOW lmao are you serious ?
@@davidpascual9571 No it's not, he is interviewing Avenged Sevenfold, meaning he should know about their discography. Not only does that mean that features are not something he should focus on, but even if they were, its not A7X featured on The River, it's M. Shadows and Gates, which is totally different. Have a good day.
This is amazing to hear as an artist.
Trashed and scattered is still one of my fight songs💪🏾✊🏽👌🏾
This is exactly how a ~13 year old version of me was introduced to them at the Galaxy Theatre in like 2006 (Now called the Observatory) Good Charlotte shouted them out at the gig. I was firmly in my pop punk phase and it didn't connect. Then there was a lot of buzz around Bat County on this really new platform called UA-cam and heard that guitar solo. I was locked in from then on 🤣
A7X and Good Charlotte great bands
GC was so huge during the 00s and became my life. I really thought it was them doing the screams and solo on The River and then was surprised it was A7x.
Idk if good Charlotte had anything to do with bat country making it to radio but that's when I fell in love with the band.. I was so pumped great solos in rock were back
bat country was my favorite song for so long and probably still
Are you really that stupid and ignorant ? M. Shadows literally just says ....Yeah this is the how and why that it happened and you sit there going .....Ahhhh I don't think that's the way it happened, He literally just told you exactly how it happened but you obviously know much much more than Shadows , In your defence tho Shadows probably doesn't have much of a view because he doesn't have an ivory tower.
What a crazy bit of history. Really interesting story!
Awesome story, that album was an instant classic when I first bought and listened
Damn, I might never have heard bat country without the Maddens. It was one of those rare songs where I immediately loved it on first listen and I instantly knew this was my new favorite band.
Even if you weren't a fan of one band or the other, gotta respect what they did for each other behind-the-scenes. God damn do I miss the early 2000's.
“Baptized in The River… on my own!”
Wait a sec, wouldn’t CoE be a “junior slump” because that was officially their 3rd released album? Wish Avenged Sevenfold would give some love to “Sounding the Seventh Trumpet”.
That's great to hear.
I love u guys man!!!
I respect him for giving GC props cos a lot of ppl woulda had an ego and not given credit in this day & age.
Big love to good Charlotte I didn't know, I heard bat country on a mw2 montage first time in 2009 haha changed my life
Coral from The Walking Dead could play M Shadows in a documentary movie
Just the Rev on drums in Beast and the Harlot is worth listening to, a masterclass.
Joel Madden name dropped A7X & City of Evil in their own interviews. Cool of them.
I was like, "The River was a good song, but they were #1 before that song came out." How wrong my assumption was.
I was on the Thrice and A7x forums all the time and I remember this 100% hahah.
Grew up on both of those bands. I was aware they had always been friends, but it’s Cool when you hear about the connection. When I was a kid I didn’t know that. I just know I liked good Charlotte. Got their young and hopeless album when it came out when I was 12. And then a couple years later, maybe 3, when I was 14/15, I hear bat country on the radio, and I then liked this other band avenged sevenfold. It’s cool knowing now the connection that I didn’t know back then. Also liked AFI and had their sing the sorrow album when I was around 12 too and know A7X had a connection to them too. Pretty cool.
I graduated in 2002 so that should tell you my age.
Until last year I did not know good Charlotte had twins.
A little help from your friends!
I''m grateful for Avenged Sevenfold because they have put the bar up really high! Tone Raven-We Are The Black Things(Hollywood CA!)
Geez imagine... When Bat Country came with the EA NHL soundtrack I hated it at first, and that was first contact. Almost all A7X records took time to grow on me lol, but they've made it to be one of my all-time faves xD Didn't know the story of this album played out like that in the beginning.
The River
The River is my favourite GC song and I discovered A7X because of them.
I never knew this. I was a scene kid, so I already thought Avenged Sevenfold was like the biggest thing ever when City of Evil came out. Just goes to show we lived in our own bubbles, even back then. I think I first heard them on a Hopeless Records sampler that had a demo version of Eternal Rest on it before Waking the Fallen came out. I also heard Darkness Surrounding maybe at some point before that, I can't remember. I thought it was the coolest shit ever. My friends thought it sounded like Power Ranger music because people weren't used to hearing songs with shreddy guitar solos anymore.
I love thrice :D
I remember this miss trl my boys in KoRn had #1 on lock till forced to retire got the life then they did it again with freak on a lease
I live in California so I definitely feel like a freak on a lease... Lol
Enjoying the vlad tv format 🔥🙏🏿 we need this in the rock/metal world thank you
This doesn’t apply to Uk,Ireland and Europe though. The album won us all over on its own 🤘
Oh man trl memories.
City of Evil is one of my favorite rock albums of the 2000s. However, strange as this may be, I haven't really liked anything A7X has done before or since. Maybe I was just that right age for that stuff at the time.
That's funny cause I always thought these two bands look very similar to each other
Thats cool as fuck.🤘
I already knew them before the song 🤣👌
Huh, I saw Thrice supporting Coheed and Cambria last year, had never even heard of them. Funny to hear them being brought up here.
When did Matt contracted Hiv?
GC introduced A7x to me....
It’s one of my guilty pleasures, but those albums beast & the harlot/city of evil were indeed goofy as hell. Thrice is definitely a better band overall IMO.
I already heard A7X way before I learned they’re homies with GC.
Really can’t stand it when an interviewer cuts off the person being interviewed, if you would rather talk then listen to answers start a podcast
Lmao I vividly remember dudes roasting city of evil saying it was trash in my gym class. Ironically years later the same dude are reposting there latest video 😂😂😂
2 words. The river
Idk about you. But when I saw The River. I first thought. The fuck is Matt and Syn doing on this?
Haircut is beyond repair
Random question but are his bottom teeth all gold or my imagination. If they are I'm jealous
People were hating on Beast and the Harlot?! Skip forward to this joke of an album in 2023, and everyone loves it.... just weird.
Now they are laughing at your haircut
Beast and The Harlot was a very corny lame ass song. They should have listened
Bad taste is bad. Be ashamed of yourself. Your parents already are.
