In men, hair often begins to recede from the forehead.
    Male-pattern baldness
Women tend to lose hair along the part.
    Female-pattern baldness
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata) is sometimes preceded by itchy or painful scalp.
    Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata)
Repeated stress on the hair can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia.
    Traction alopecia
t's becoming increasingly common for menopausal women to experience frontal fibrosing alopecia, in which the hairline moves back.
    Frontal fibrosing alopecia
Hair loss can appear in many different ways, depending on what's causing it. It can come on suddenly or gradually and affect just your scalp or your whole body.
Signs and symptoms of hair loss may include:
Gradual thinning on top of head. This is the most common type of hair loss, affecting people as they age. In men, hair often begins to recede at the hairline on the forehead. Women typically have a broadening of the part in their hair. An increasingly common hair loss pattern in older women is a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia).
Circular or patchy bald spots. Some people lose hair in circular or patchy bald spots on the scalp, beard or eyebrows. Your skin may become itchy or painful before the hair falls out.
Sudden loosening of hair. A physical or emotional shock can cause hair to loosen. Handfuls of hair may come out when combing or washing your hair or even after gentle tugging. This type of hair loss usually causes overall hair thinning but is temporary.
Full-body hair loss. Some conditions and medical treatments, such as chemotherapy for cancer, can result in the loss of hair all over your body. The hair usually grows back.
Patches of scaling that spread over the scalp. This is a sign of ringworm. It may be accompanied by broken hair, redness, swelling and, at times, oozing.
    When to see a doctor
See your doctor if you are distressed by persistent hair loss in you or your child and want to pursue treatment. For women who are experiencing a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia), talk with your doctor about early treatment to avoid significant permanent baldness.
Also talk to your doctor if you notice sudden or patchy hair loss or more than usual hair loss when combing or washing your or your child's hair. Sudden hair loss can signal an underlying medical condition that requires treatment.
People typically lose 50 to 100 hairs a day. This usually isn't noticeable because new hair is growing in at the same time. Hair loss occurs when new hair doesn't replace the hair that has fallen out.

I had severe itching - it was unbearable, and the salon kept using layers upon layers of hard glue. It was really only when I started attaching the system myself and just used tape that it stopped. The salon had let my scalp become red and inflamed. I've saved thousands by doing most of the reattachments myself and by going to a different stylist every couple of months. Thanks for your videos.

Thanks for sharing this with us. This is one of the key points sellers never ever tell you about. They just want to sell right away, but never tell you of what might actually happen. I'm starting using a hair system, and during the first 4 days everything was just fine. Then, on the 5th day, some mild to severe itchyness started. I'm using medical grade toupee tape, as recommended by my seller, but right now I have this frustrating sensation of irritation and itch under the tapes. Fortunately, it comes and goes during the day, and it's not permanent 24/7, but it gets pretty annoying of course.
I will tell my seller to provide me with another brand of tape, or even try some kind of glue, so we can together find the best bonding system for me. I personally sweat more than a regular person, also I live in a tropical country and do a lot of excersise, so it actually makes things harder for me, since all this humidity (be it environmental, or sweat or even because of showering with the prosthesis 2 times per week as recommended by my seller) actually makes the tapes to increasingly lose some bonding power and start to melt, which eventually makes the hairline look messy by the 7th day. No wonder why my seller told me that we need to apply maintenance to the hair system at least 1 every seven days.
If anyone is living thru this "first-week-nightmare", be sure that you are not alone. I hope there's a solution for all of us "itchers". According to Jake, there is, which gives me hope. I really love my hair system, looks pretty natural, changed my attitude and my confidence, and since I'm a man in my early 30s and got pretty bald this year, I don't feel like I wanna just "accept it" haha!

hey pal, please share, did you resolve it in the end? It's my 3d day wearing a hairsystem (with a bond, it's a skin thin poly) and it started to itch today extremely severely, I don't know what to do… how did you solve this problem?

The main reasons the scalp itches is mostly to do with the hair grown under the system. Also lack exfoliation of the scalp before the system is applied

You have such a gentle personality and it’s very engaging. I feel it’s so important to support one another and share knowledge and experiences about this subject. Thank you for doing this. I mean that very sincerely. P.S. Damn you look good!

Great videos! Love your content. I’ve had two different hair system stylists not fully get the shaved dead hair off my scalp before bonding. I found out this was incredibly itchy to the point of taking Benadryl morning and night that first week after a cut-in. So fellas, if you’re having a stylist bond, make sure you ask them to
rinse the clipped hair off before bonding.

Try a hair system with poly all around with lace in the middle! Feels good and easy attachment, also more nstural. No worries about knots in the front showing or adhesive seeping. Lmk if you have any questions. Also walker ultra hold in front with red tape and ultra hold tape in back and sides. And walker max sports scalp protector!

I've also discovered that you can develop an allergic reaction to an adhesive over time. It can be misdiagnosed as one of the other mentioned reasons. I've experienced allergic reactions to several liquid adhesives only to find that your skin has a memory and reacts each time it's introduced to a similar product. My solution has been hypoallergenic tape. It takes a bit of getting used to, but helps in the clean up and build up problems. Good info. Always great advice.

I use white vinegar when ever I get itchy as it can drive me mad at times. I soak my head with it and then tap my head for a few minutes to sink it in and that helps a great deal. Also wash your hair with T Gel shampoo its made for itchy scalps.

    Hi Jake,
Quick question - have you ever had a white adhesive, like Ghost Bond or Walker Great White etc that has caused your scalp to be red? I have been wearing systems for about 3 months and had no issues then all of a sudden when I took my system off, the hairline/front portion of the head where I apply adhesive was red (not really itchy, and not at all painful) but red. I have had my system off for 5 days now and the redness is still there but it has gone down a lot. Have you ever had this experience?

Hey Jake. Another great vid. Definitely can be a number of reasons for the itchiness! Are you still with Walker Safe Hold? I’ve been with Ghostbond for years but..I think it’s possible my skin has developed a allergy to it 🥶 Mad itchiness. So looking for a different bond. Maybe I’ll try Walker Safe Hold

I only get itchiness when im sweating but we're talking about first wave of sweat but i don't know why o actually had this proglem everywhere on my body even with my natural hair since i was a kid. When i sweat like crazy there is no proglem but sweating a bit scalp can get extremely itchy which ks annoying sinxe i cant scratch it. It gets worse right after the shower if i literally stopped showering i have no itching. But when i start to sweat fresh oit of a shower i have itching going on everywhere on my body. Hmm no it makes me think jt could be a dry sking from all the shampoo's and so on.

Brain doesn't misinterprete mate brain give single if it's not comfortable. Always nature try to push things which are unnatural.
Kudos and thanks to your videos.
Usually if we have natural hair we take shower twice or thrice weekly. Some does daily if they don't use too much shampoo or chemical. As soon as you are on a artificial hair system you tend not to disturb atleast for 2 weeks. Also the hair will grow inside and start poking and lifting the system which is one of the reason for itchiness.
However people who have system they must learn a habit to TAP rather itch it with fingers.

  • @majorali242

Ive found a solution after experimentation as I had seriously itchy scalp where tape was.
Try Walkers 1522 clear tape. Its supposed to by hypoallergenic, which is made for sensitive scalps. Also, they say its for 1-5 day use, but I use it for up to ten days if im lazy.
Not gonna lie, my scalp is still mildly itchy, but NOTHING compared to other tapes I used. Also, the longer system is on my head the more itchy it gets, and I think it has to do with glue residue on skin... So I advise to change once a week.

I am a first time user Jake. I am experiencing a bit of itchiness from time to time but it goes away really quick. The person who fitted my hair used a white glue...could it be the reason? But also i think my hair is growing and do exercise 3/4 times a week 😅 so i guess that could be the reason. Mine is poly and been wearing for 10 days still the bond feels solid.

Dark dreams, I am a hair system God with my extensive research, experience, trials and errors. I wear a .05 poly all around with lace in the middle. Waiting for my custom with lift injected knotting for the poly part in the front. You're welcome. But my system breaths, easy to attach and don't have to worry about glue seeping in front of lace, no crusty hairline because its poly, no bad black knots showing because they weren't bleached properly, no dirt getting stuck in hairline, among all the bad things with a lace hairline. I just blessed you with the knowledge of a combo system. Give me blessings for years to come. Thank you. Let me know if you need help finding the system. Poly all around with lace in the middle. Curtis from the for example didn't want to bring it to the people because it would hurt his business. Which is why I lost lots of respect for him. That is all for now.
