The Truth About Having to Drive Manual For FedEx

  • What up player! Thanks for tuning in! Today we dive into the question that's been on everyones mind: Are all Fedex trucks manual?? The truth is just like manuals are becoming more rare in the real world, they’re also becoming more rare in the delivery game as well. There’s a short chance to none that you would find a FedEx contractor that has manual trucks. Most these days are automatic. If you do happen to end up with a contractor that has manual trucks, they should teach you as long as you’re willing to learn.

    Dang it so weird to see your trucks running while making a stop 😂 at UPS we have to shut ours off and close the bulkhead door every time we make a stop.

    Seeing those 200+ stops made me feeling overwhelmed, but knowing that is all residential makes me relieved! Could only imagine having to do residentials and businesses on that route! My route has both and the most I do is 170 and that's always on a Monday.

    I wish it was like this in the UK, pretty much every parcel requires a signature and its rare to leave them safe so it takes so much longer per stop waiting for people to answer or trying neighbors because they're not home

    As a delivery driver for Coca Cola. I get what you mean about slowly emptying the truck and how satisfying it is. We also have to park in the middle lane of big street often, only we have to use pallet jacks as well to move our product so you can only move as fast as that jack moves lol

    • @Matt_Dagostino
      @Matt_Dagostino 3 роки тому +1

      You should try and clear IC and bulk stops first, if it's dominating that much of your floor space
      Jot down a list of the most space consuming packages and sequence them accordingly. Once delivered, go back to the first page of your manifest
      May seem like a waste, but that hour you spend opening up floor space will save you a lot of time, frustration, and risk of injury

    k so I left a comment on your "how to drive manual" video but it got super buried. I have an old diesel 5spd jetta. My dad used to be a truck driver and he taught me how to drive it. So, when im pulling up to a stop I have the clutch in but like just the 10 feet before I stop and then I leave it in until I get goin again. Partly because im lazy and partly because the trans is kinda clapped. Am I damaging it or does it really matter?
