I'm now addicted to watching drummers, lets call them musicians, who play their musical instrument, to music I would never listen to, and absolutely love it. Sweet sounds!
I'm a little stoned. But I keep coming back to this, even when I'm sober. Beautiful exhibition of musical drumming and craftsmanship. You are so tapped in man. It's inspirational
Many evenings when I feel overwhelmed by everything, I have a smoke and come here to relax. You have one of the best ears when it comes to composition and emotion I in the song. Absolutely amazing work!✌️
@@dereksabrams Too many. Typical drummers I've met, they had almost none of the music theory, banging on drums without improving for even more than 5 years. They call themselves drummers but for sure they aren't musicians.
This is the way I want to learn to play my drums. Sir, you play in such way that is pleasant to the ear. I see your videos often. You got a fan in me . 🙋♀️👋👏👍
I keep coming back to listen to this track. The drums and playing, sound great, love the claps, those roto toms, the cymbals. But I also like the vibe of the song. I no longer come back to check out haw the drums and drumming sound, but just to enjoy the music.
The quality of the sound, camera and room decor matches the playing. Who agrees? Says everything about how he handles his life. I bet he drives a “modest looking” high end car. Or a economic high quality vehicle like a Toyota or Honda.
Love the way you used the different sounds to navigate the big diminuendo/wind-down on the back end of the song. And superb, water-tight feel as always. Hats off.
Such a resourseful drummer. Been watching your videos. Most of all, i like the relax playing and the search of particular sounds that fit to the song and not the virtuosism.
Nice to see some one play with such groove and finesse .It is quite rare to see, as everybody seems to be throwing out these overcomplicated drum solos and time signatures. A joy watch . Also nice to see the roto toms get a work out .
Great, natural and unforced use of rototoms! I wish more people knew how to do that without making ut a "thing" that they "used rototoms instead of normal toms, like OMG, so wild!!" Love that ride as well, it REALLY has a nice sound. What did you do to it? :)
may I ask what these springs are that are attached to your right side thatt are standing verticaly up in the air ? ' never seen something like that. Greetings,..and by the way,...gerat playing ...as always !!!!
Hi Cartwr - you are easily my favourite musician - effortless with such finesse. Can I ask what your miking setup is, you seem to have a basic configuration? Reason I ask I've just purchased my first mics and not sure I wanna do the close miking every drum thing? Any guidance will be well received, Malc - Scotland
Istanbul Agop clap stack, designed to sound like a clap as you say, I just got one myself. It comes in a pack of 3 or 5 stacked warped cymbals, he's using the 3 here
Your cymbals look like a Dalí painting! 😅
Actually the most musical drummer there is
Yes, but Brian Blade is pretty damn musical too.

Wow, thank you!
When a musician understands that he has to put his knowledge and ability so the whole song is coherent and harmonic. Excellent job!
This is so inspiring to watch and very intelligently arranged.
Øystein Paasche I watch one of his vids before or after I groove and it always gives me so many ideas and lots of material for future grooves.
I bought rototoms because of this.
Playing like this is what elevates you from a drummer to a musician
Mighty Duck drummers aren’t musicians?
@@dereksabrams some of them arent
well said
John give me examples please.

Lovely rhythmic narrative/choices, Carter. 👌🏼
Those claps sound cool.
I’ve never imagined that drums could be as musical as this...thanks Carter, you’re such an inspiration to me.

Not nearly enough Rototom playing! ...But otherwise highly enjoyable as usual.
If u like rototoms, watch this live vid, rototoms for days!

It amazes me how well you pulled it off with acoustics, so many would play this with electronics galore

This kit is definitely my favorite, but that stacker, though!!🔥🔥

Beautiful buttery stuff once again Carter! Your choice of sounds is inspiring.
Unbelievably great playing!
This song looks so fun to play
Geez man. That was beautiful.
I enjoyed this so much. Your playing never cease to inspire. Gonna order your book when I get back home from vacation.
Awesome
Nice playing and actual improvement to actual original track. Drums add more flavor and depth to the recording.
Absolutely. As a 35 yr drumming veteran, it's nice to be wowed. This playing is musical and tastefully executed
Clean.
So dope!!!
You make the song better. An added layer of texture. Cool...
The drums name ❤️ respect to style 🕉️

great song and playin, Carter
extremely relaxing
thank you for this, carter!
Good sound
Sounds good. Nice job
Awesome sounds, sweet groove. How did you mic this? Can you detail the gear you're using here?
I would bet that he is using a mono overhead, Earthworks SR25, and a kick mic, which can be an Earthworks SR20ls or a Electrovoice RE20.
Don't normally like low tunes snare but that is nice!
Awesome 👌🏻 You sound so good!!!
Really nice !! You really bring something and i prefer your cover than the original without acoustic drums 👍
This is just great!
Nice! ....and vintage Roto-toms?
Are those all 16", hihat, snare & floor tom?
Beautiful bro !
Yessss bro!!!!! Whew!! Love it!
Great, natural and unforced use of rototoms! I wish more people knew how to do that without making ut a "thing" that they "used rototoms instead of normal toms, like OMG, so wild!!" Love that ride as well, it REALLY has a nice sound. What did you do to it? :)
THAT SNARE
Taste Taste Taste 🥁🥁🥁
What a superb sound, and playjng is awesome as usual.
Is that a factory warped cymbal, or a diy ?
Rhythmista Agop Trash crash 20”
Smooth like jelly
Beautiful, natural drumming. What's the name of the song and artist.
Smooth! Nice and tasteful man, and great technique! What is that stack set up? I love the clap sound it makes. Would love to see more from you.
Istanbul agop clap stack.

what instrument is on your right side? Thanks.
Beautiful playing sir. What happened to the 64 audio?
Dimitry Kulibaba I’m using 64 audio A6t here 👍🏻
what's your ride cymbal?
Carter, this is fantastic but the artist name is not Favela, it's Kinnship.

where are your mics!?
👏👏👏😅
Guess what: I love this.
Really nice! What’s that weird looking cymbal that sounds like a hand clap? Worked amazingly in the song.
Istanbul Agop clap stack, designed to sound like a clap as you say, I just got one myself. It comes in a pack of 3 or 5 stacked warped cymbals, he's using the 3 here
Dave Collingwood in the UK sells a very similar clap to stack for £125 currently (I can vouch for their excellence)
where is the mics?? I do not see them
Definition of "smooth"
please explain that stack to me and can I have it?
What hi hats are those?
I'm pretty confident they are Agop 30th anniversary hats - 15"
man, your musical instincts are incredible.
What is that cymbal called below the two toms? Cuz it sounds awesome.
