I find Joe Osborne a refreshingly informative and entertaining commentator. He gives a lot of insights rather than just describing what you can already see. 👍🏼
I've got little sympathy for those who stay out on the wrong tyres hoping for a Safety Car, only to then sail off the track. You ran the gauntlet, and lost.
Does anyone else feel like Code 60s could work well in British GT? Particularly in the back end of this race there’s been so much stop start, with full course yellows and the like, I feel for the spectators cause it’s never exciting seeing these cars going round the track at full course yellow pace
Well, full course yellow itself is effectively the exact same procedure as code 60, both are on-track speed limits. Of course in today's sro racing, full course yellow is almost always folmowed by a safety car, which obviously is different from standard code 60 procedure. They wouldn't need to implement code 60 as a new procedure, they should just go back to green straight from fcy.
@@theflagstand But it would be nice to cut down and for instance a sector or a couple of corners under code 60 similar to the N24 as it would allow for racing to continue round the rest of the track, I know it would be unlikely to work for wet weather however for incidents were only a few corners would be affected, it would work well I believe particularly for the shorter races like the 2, 1hr races at Oulton Park those races were so dull as most of the races were completed with the cars all sitting at 60kph
@@donald_c0 I guess any normal-length circuits are considered short enough that they don't feel slow zones are necessary at those places, the idea sounds feasible enough. Though I'd argue that the main problem sro has is that their fcy+sc procedure takes forever compared to the previously more common practice of choosing either fcy or sc. Most interruptions would be relatively short if they didn't insist on always dragging out the safety car for nothing.
@@theflagstand no you’re right Sro’s system takes so long to go through, I do think though with a little bit of planning and the driver’s being alert a code sixty system could work for instance across 5 marshal posts and then you could have the other 2/3s of the track green
How many cars needed to be in the gravel before a safety car appears? Or even where was a red flag? Cars still going off behind the safety car when there are marshalls down there. So dangerous
@aleccoles5557 Or just an updated GT4 pack, with the mustang, lotus, aston, ginetta, bmw, mclaren and supra The new aston gt3 could also be a free update like the mustang was, which they also did for the mclaren 720s evo. But, they do want to shift full focus over to ac evo if they want to get it out this year
Kind of wish the announcers would shut up a bit, can barely hear the cars over them. Lads, we don't need to know every single fact and thing you noticed to be voiced. Let's just watch the race a bit.
Not sure they could because they likely use the same commentary at the circuit and that commentary needs to cover everything going on for those who can’t see anything but the section of track that they are stood by.
When John Ferguson is pirouetting down the Craner Curves under SC (only the tail end of it shown on the stream, but it happened in front of us), no amount of strategy will save you.

I find the lead commentator very good too. Together one of the best motorsport commentary pairings I reckon.
Ha, gotta love the 2 types of British weather, raining or about to rain....
What an exciting race. Thanks for the live coverage GTWorld

Watched this live on the outside of red gate corner it was insane to wztch
@doomraider2782 I was near drainer curves and was like " they should be coming round now, why aren't they"
How on earth did they all miss each other? I didn't realise God was a British GT fan!

SRO need to learn how to utilise a Full Course Yellow procedure properly. This was tiresome to watch.
Where did WPI go ? I heard they moved to rally but I havnt seen anything of them 🤷♂️

Can we still get C.C., Please ?

End of break around 2:11:00 :)
1:16:47 - Didn't take too long to start either.
I wish Lotus GT4 would go to Assetto Corsa Competizione. But it unlikely will :/
Agree, and the mustang
@@kevantorrance4342 The mustang was recently added for free
@@kevantorrance4342 I was actually surprised that there was Ford GT4. I thought it's only GT3.
Never say never. The might do an updated british gt pack one day. We can hope

Ahh yes 5kg will slow the lambo 😂

“Short and pointless just like my mother” why? Just why? 😂😂😂😂
RAM Racing TRASHED this one... What were they even thinking. Jesus, i could be a race engineer.

Doubt Marciello will want to come back with RAM and JF again. Car is low down or damaged when he does get it
