Hi there I have this camera about 16 months now I love it but about a week ago at night it’s pixelated any suggestions ?

Hard to say for sure, but I'd start by considering any bandwidth issues/limitations. You can often test this by running a constant ping -t xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx from the cmd prompt to ensure you are not dropping packets. You can also lower you fps rate to see if the pixelation stops, if it does this also could be an issue with bandwidth. Good luck and if you come to a dead-end give your installing company a call or if you are an installer give Dahua a call or try their Wiki page.

Hi, great video! How many mega pixels do you recommend in a PTZ? I like to be able to identify things over 500 feet away from the camera. Is 8MP better for farther objects or can the 2MP in 6AL245UNI good enough? Thank you

Hi Steve, thanks for watching and the feedback. The answer is Yes, the 6AL245UNI is good enough to id things at 500 feet away if you are zoomed in enough to provide enough pixels. DORI (Detect, Observe, Recognize, ID) is the generally accepted standard. In general, you will want to use a calculator to ensure that you are getting enough "pixels" to meet your desired needs. Here is a good one from Hanwha Techwin. www.hanwhasecurity.com/wisenet-tool-box/ you can see the Field of View (FoV) for any particular camera by selecting a camera, then the FoV (on the right) then there is a circle with an "i" in next tot he "DORI Guide" that gives you some example views.

@@AccentAlarms Thank you very much for the detailed response. Is DORI just for daylight recording? What about at night with low light, how can I differentiate between two cameras like dahua 8A840WANF and Hikvision DS-2DF8836I5X-AELW?

@@Steve-os9dg Sorry but I'm not much help as I'm not a fan of Hikvision and know very little about their products. I've also moved away from Dahua after a year of failures and frustrations, many caused by the current world happenings. This was also based on the National Defense Authorization Act. Additionally, be very careful where you get your camera from, many of the cameras being sold are through back-channels and are lacking any warranty support. For example, Adorama, Amazon, Newegg, 123 Security Products, and many more) Read this from Dahua us.dahuasecurity.com/?page_id=1354 I've moved on to Hanwha Techwin (formerly Samsung) something like the XNP-9300RW is an excellent 4K PTZ camera made by a "friendlier" company with a commitment to cyber-security.

Is that 2 camera lenses side-by-side? One for day and one for night?

One is the laser focus system, just looked on their website it seems they no longer have this camera. I stopped using them (Dahua) well over a year ago as their firmware was creating problems with my Milestone VMS and their tech support is absolutely brutal. Those are the two primary reasons, I could go on.

@@AccentAlarms Ebay has the SD6AL445XA-HNR-IR which is the 4MP version of this camera. All my cameras are Dahua 4MP 25x PTZ and they work great with the Dahua NVR. Not sure I want to shell out $1000 for for the extra zoom power of 45x and laser focus though, especially when these numbers aren't always accurate. Everything else is the same as what I already have with the 25x cameras.
