Cool! I like the idea of a Gibson scale on a Fender style guitar.

Yeah I’m liking my slick guitars. A little setup and TLC and you got a rocking, cost effective axe. I dig the hardware.

The body is actually a multipiece hardwood glued together with a very thin veneer. I added an arm and belly cut to mine and it quite obvious. the bridge is set so low, you can't change strings without raising the bridge. The frets needed a level and polish, the nut is cheap plastic, the tuners don't hold tune. The output jack plate is plastic... I did a fret level and polish, change the nut to tusq xl, new gotoh tuners, neck shim, changed the volume pot cause the factory pot was really tight to rotate, added a gretsch tone switch, added a metal jack plate, added metal foil in the control cavity, sanded the cavity cover to fit properly, full intonation and she's now ($120 in parts later) a really cool rock/blues funk guitar, plays great now. So just be warned, they aren't that great out of the box, but with the right improvements, its a really great sounding / playing guitar.

I went to Zimms and checked this guitar out. Very nice neck. The relic job is just the paint, no relic done to the wood, (dings, scratches, worming, buckle rash, nothing) could be painted and look fine. Considering doing this, I'm not a relic guy. Note... I am reliced, but I dont like my guitars that way.

Yes there are a ton of relics at MF and GC that have been there for years, I hate them also so you are not alone

I somehow missed this vid earlier. But man that is a cool guitar. I am interested in this guitar - either this color, or the orangish brown one that looks a little bit sand-blasted. These are intriguing guitars. As always, fun video and content! Rock on Dane!

These slick guitars are an excellent choice if you want to keep jamming through the apocalypse and maybe have a concert afterwards. They are a steal for the money.

Using clean tones let you hear the essential guitar sound. Great review; thanks!

Interesting guitar. Pretty cool that the pickups can be twitched out so easily. Another brand I’ve never heard of. Thank you!

2:24 The “Slick” logo, from a distance, looks like it says “Suck”. Piece of black electrical tape fixes that. Lol I have a Slick 50 tele and it sounds amazing! Heavy but a wide strap helps. 😊

I just bought one of the new Ocean Turquise models. The intonation is the only thing that scares me on that bridge. This one just sounds out of tune. Can you adjust the bridge intonation, or is it set?

Good question. On another demo video you can see the bridge and there are set screws to adjust the intonation.
I am guessing the string height is adjusted via the two bridge screws, ie the entire bridge can be moved up and down, not the individual strings.

I don't have this specific guitar, but I have two other Slick guitars with the exact same bridge. You can adjust the intonation. The other comment is correct that you can adjust overall bridge height, but not the individual strings.

What necks fit the neck pocket?? Would I look for tele or strat heel to fit this neck pocket?
