    as someone who played DSP from the start, I can say that building these planet scale factories, especially when you start getting at 100s of items per minute, I would NEVER have done these if there was no blueprinting or dragging, I remember manually putting every single inserter, factory and power pole, those days were cool, but sucked real hard if you wanted to scale up beyond your basic solar system

      @@MG_Steve the dragging (shift click) update was amazing too but blueprints really sold the deal when it came to universe scale. Imo it would not be nearly possible to expand this much without them

    I use some of your blueprints, not because I don't like, because I like doing my own. Never stop though, but you are a MASTER with this game and I value your insight and recommendations. Love seeing the monitor in this build. My biggest use of blueprints is dyson spheres. I'm just not creative enough ,or patient, to build them that look good. Same with mechs. I would love to see video on Mech creation. I could use the help. Thanks again.

    These blueprints are just so beautiful, as always!! Loved the yellow and the purple science ones especially!
    I guess that, in terms of what new late-game thing to go to, there's not much more to go for. If anything, the last frontier would be creating more blueprints regarding Dyson Spheres.
    I know about your fast Dyson Sphere builder blueprint, and your critical photon blueprint, but sometimes I thought that it would be cool to have something dedicated to blasting insane quantities of rockets to space, or solar sails, or drawing the maximum amount of critical photons from a blue giant.
    So, to summarize my insane ramblings above, my proposal is:
    - Create blueprints for launching rockets, launching solar sails, receiving critical photons, that can fit inside of your city blocks.

I quite like your concept of city block and I'm currently trying to fit a fully proliferated 200/min white science production complex into the smallest footprint and as self-contained as possible, given a Forge World and super-large dyson sphere for critical photons. I think the recent belt elevation update could help there. Maybe that would be an interesting project for your next DSP series?

      That beign said, I really really like draging in all the materials for science, in to one giant build. That produces all of the sciences. Best I've managed, is a logistics station pushing out all the 5 sciences, two belts each, and 4 logistic stations side by side. The anti-matter has to come in from the side. 8 full belts of all the 6 materials feeding 8 rows of labs. And the white goes out back pass the originating towers, into it's own labs.

    I do not write that you ruin the game. It is nice to see your extremely efficient modular builds even I never use that strategy in my own game. I tried in Factorio years ago but it was boring to copy blueprints until FPS went annoying (for 80's gamer annoying means less than 5 fps).
    One thing I would like to see is how large production your modern gaming PC can manage. I built 250 white matrix per second (with default Dark fog) but it is quite rough for my old 3770. Now I am in situation if I increase production UPS decreases respectively. It is about 15/30 now. I should buy a new PC, not just for another blueprint copying round in factory games but to prevent inevitable failure of some aging component.

    I have a general question for followers.
    You can massively reduce some blueprints by belt stacking. I have seen this working on one recent that cut 1000+ belts out over all. Questing being does anyone think its worth creating a semi Small Form Factor/footprint blueprints catalog?

    • @Yardiff
      @Yardiff 8 місяців тому +1

      In my opinion: Yes.
      The more items that can be belted out of a late-game smelter or assembly line the better. With multiple sources (ILS/PLS) the drone system starts to break down and not load-balance well, with some sources ignored.
      If there’s bigger and fewer sources which are replenished very quickly, the system copes better. Plus the game having to track fewer suppliers.
      Large buffers with high throughput to the ILS/PLS are also beneficial. It means that a smelting line can be smaller, filling up the ILS/PLS and then the buffers. Once things start being used the buffers will rapidly refill the main supplier.
      These days I find myself wondering: Should I use three belts from an advanced mining station into a PLS, for the extra buffering? And then those go into twinned ILS for transport to a forge world?
      A potentially worthwhile video would be methods of setting up a mining world, with traffic monitoring to indicate that ore reserves have run out. Then the player would go set up a new mining world, before tearing down the old one to transform into a manufacturing world.

    • @chrismwinand
      @chrismwinand 8 місяців тому +1

      @Yardiff You hit on a lot of key points that one day I wouldn't mind exploring myself.
      I'm working on a science setup that requires ILS to move in materials and then store said science made. However, I've condensed it in such a way that it uses 10 Logistics Distributors set to only hold 5 or so stacks(1000 materials). Low key debating taken them out and belting instead.
      Level 6 Logistics Carry Capacity can be obtained with purple science. So you end up with I believe 18 slots for the bots that are basically dedicated to that specific build setup unless you have other distributors within their range requesting the same materials.
      I've also taken a Supersonic Missle Factory and cut out a massive footprint which ultimately taught me along the way and made condensing the Science setup even faster by a few days. 😆 I've never really made videos myself but for this sort of thing I'm sure I could figure it out.

    • @Yardiff
      @Yardiff 8 місяців тому

      @@chrismwinand Something to remember: belts are KING, things will go out by belt before the drone network gets a sniff of it. Which I believe is why Nilaus is belting between builds, and daisy-chaining longer builds together. That 120/sec along a belt gets priority over everything else, so the drone sends only "leftovers" to anything else in the network which requires it.
      With the new piler-sorters, 40 arc smelters is 40 copper/iron a second. That's a pair of belts with 20 smelters each side, folded into a C shape of 10/10 and 10/10 smelters. Upgrade to plane smelters and then negentropy smelters to get the full 120/second. (A magnet line is 3x 10/10 lines in an S-shape for 120/sec.)
      Similar for a straight set of 10/10 recomposing assemblers: that's 120 circuit boards or magnetic coils a second right there.
      Right now I find myself more often in Sandbox Mode, trying to work out the topologies for various production lines. Like I've worked out the steel build as a double-C: iron smelter, iron ore belt, steel belt, steel smelter - and the iron smelter goes straight across the two belts to direct-feed into the steel smelter. (Think of a long belt of iron smelter one side of the belts, direct-injecting into the steel smelter on the other side. Then fold it a couple of times.)
      The topology alone I find very absorbing. Not sure when I'll next get to play!

    This is not a complete science build. You also need to produce a lot of "base components" as you call them. And how is this better a regular modular design? All you did is just merge 1-2-3 mini city blocks together. And you wouldn't need that if you didn't split up regular city blocks into several mini ones.

    Romans 8
    Life in the Spirit
    1There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. 3For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 7For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. 8Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
    9You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
    Heirs with Christ
    12So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
    Future Glory
    18For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
    26Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
    God’s Everlasting Love
    31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died-more than that, who was raised-who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36As it is written,
    “For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
    we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
    37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
