This whole argument is moot because we didn’t have our center for the ou game. Total game changer from a timing and alignment recognition standpoint.
OU got an unbelievable gift very early in that game.

I still 100% believe Quinn stunted his growth as a quarterback by skipping his senior season. Details in his game like an inability to consistently convert against blitzes even with nothing but NFL level skill Talent around him is a symptom of that. He's been chasing that lost development time for the last 3 years but hopefully this season is when he finally catches up.

Did you guys do an analysis comparing Quinn’s performance against the rush in the 1st half of the season vs 2nd half? OL’s performance over same time period?

Can y’all do a show about Quinn’s passes batted down. This happened in the Washington game 4 or 5 times. Looks like only on RPO designed plays. It’s an area that no one has talked about but really has to improve

Quinn has two clear issues with blitzes. The first one is he doesn't do a good job reading the defense pre-snap, and understanding where his problems/solutions are. The bigger problem is his mechanics. Your answers to a blitz are usually shorter passes, where ball placement has to be a lot more precise. Your receiver has very little time to adjust to the throw, and you need to lead them toward space to get YAC. The mechanics on these passes needs to be consistent, which is his biggest weakness. Being able to throw from different angles can be a great weapon, but there is a reason the traditional throwing mechanics are still taught. He needs to learn and drill on the traditional mechanics, and make those his norm. It makes throws a lot more accurate and consistent when your variables are just release point, release mechanics, and power. With those side arm throws your variables are release point, release mechanics, power, arm angle, arm vector, arm extension, and how all of these effects velocity, trajectory, and wobble.

@@johneichsteadt4432 Quinn threw at 70% accuracy from sidearm last year, and if Sarkisian doesn’t see a problem with his mechanics then I’d say it’s pretty obvious he’s doing fine with what he’s got.

He also left him in after throwing 5 in against Okie Lite
