- Colt pulled out all the stops to offer a "light" version of their Burgess carbine. In this episode, we'll take a close look at how Colt was able to offer a 44-40 carbine that barely tips the scales at 5 pounds. Of course, we're going to shoot it as well.
I’ve visited the firearms museum in Cody and it was magnificent.
I can see a cowboy jumping off his horse headed for cover. What a beautiful gun.
That's sweet pair of carbines, thanks for taking us to the range with you!
Thank you Mark. Nice guns. Good way to play truant from the workshop😁! Cheers from NZ🇳🇿.
Great stuff Mark! I've never seen a light carbine in a Burgess before, I love it!
Even with a modern Levergun shooting a jug of water at 100 isn't easy!❤❤❤
I was very lucky and got to shoot a Burgess light carbine a few years ago. I find it hard to convey just how light and handy that little carbine is.
Have always loved the Colt-Burgess ( and other off brand lever guns ) firearms.
A cowboy rifle in cowboy country. Pure as it gets.
Great History! Beautiful country! 👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
Great little handy rifle.
I have an old Marlin ‘94…..32.20….nice little rifle.
Great video Mark! I was just out there at the complex doing some shooting. Maybe I will see you at the Cody show in July. I am thinking on selling a Colt Lightning Carbine in 44-40. Never seen a Colt Burgess carbine in action before. It was neat!
Nice shootin' Mark!
Good video. Not as cool as the cinnabar for sure, my favorite area to visit but a close second. Glad your new adventure is a success. Looking forward to a cinnabar video as well as from Cody. God bless.
It's a wonder Uberti didn't pattern their Burgess replica after this model.
Great videos…. Sorry I got in on the end of the series…. But I am happy for expansion to Wyoming…. Hope it all turns out well for you.
Great video Mark! Would love to have one of those and I hear they are the smoothest lever action in existence.
Good video.
Love The Burgess Mark ❤️❤️❤️😀😊
What beauties! I hope to add one to my collection soon. I just purchased a new beauty...early serial number, high 130K serial number...~1903-05 manufacture year, Marlin 1895 carbine in 45-70. Thanks!
Very interesting little carbine.
Great video Mark I really enjoyed talking to you in Las Vegas last January. Is there going to be an antique firearms show at the same time as the SHOT show next year?? Keep the good videos coming.
Great video, I was wondering if you would ever be interested in doing a video on the Winchester model 74 or the model 67 I know there only 22’s but there some of my favorites.
Dandy little vid, BUT!! BUT!! I cannot resist asking if the "Tour Guide" service runs dawn till dusk, and is concierige' service included?!?!!😅😅😅😅! NE way, TY! I found the firearms section interesting, as I have been Colt Fan for 60+ years.
That would be a light packing rifle!
Nice to carry but hard to shoot accurately. This goes for any lightweight rifle. The original94, loaded, has weight-forward from the tubular magazine that helps steady up an open sight shot. Like shooting offhand a full stock carbine. Most rifles today sacrifice this feature by being too light to shoot without a rest. The original 94 is easy to shoot well offhand, in poor light, breathing hard, snapshooting, because it is what it is.
That’s a sweet little carbine. I’d hang onto that one.
Description says 44-40.
@@terrystroble8657 guess I missed that part. Thanks!
@@terrystroble8657 can’t read the description on the TV. Just the phone app.
Sorry if I didn’t mention the caliber. The Colt Burgess were only offered in 44-40.
Thanks for that tidbit!! The Cody area has its own beauty, change is sometimes not real easy but time will help smooth things out!! Love your videos!!
Very entertaining ! Would like to see a video on American made drilling... Fran k Hollenbeck Wheeling W. Va. i.e. The Three-Barrel Gun Co.
(Mike C.) How about that! A 5lb. carbine in the 1880s using no light alloys of any kind. Just skilled craftsmanship and the desire to produce a superb product. Here we are in 2024 and you can buy yourself a modern lever gun made with cast parts that is approaching the weight of a fully loaded B.A.R.!
Mark. Tour presentations will always be amazing but Cody will never match the Cinnabar
Thy Mark.
Ounces equal pounds! Every ounce counts when u need to travel light.
Imbedded ads ?? Bad juju.
I don't like the ads either, but they just barely pay for the ammo. I have to cover the other expenses and the enormous amount of time these videos take. It wasn't for the little bit of ad revenue I receive; I probably couldn't continue doing these videos.
