Hi from New Zealand! Lovely to see our Pohutukawa tree as inspiration for Suzanne's yarn dyeing. I live in the south of NZ and it doesn't normally grow in this part of the country as it is a warmer climate plant. Isn't it beautiful? Your pronunciation was great. Enjoying your Vlogmas - thanks.
That green lambkins yarn looks exactly like a sunny Christmas here in NZ with the Pohutakawa (Dan was spot on) tree 🌲 ❤
Huge congratulations on 10k subscribers! I’m not ready for Christmas either and have decided this year will be very low key. Most of our Christmas celebrations here are to be honest, it’s summer and the reason for the season is more focus on summer holidays, camping and bbq’s.

What a fun and kind community you have built on this channel. Congratulations on 10k. I think at last year’s Vlogmas you were around 5k. As you opened Day 10 of Greenlambkin’s advent in England, I was winding that very color in California for use in my Battenberg Blanket. Suzanne’s advent this year is brilliant.

You both said pōhutukawa so well (better than most people who live here - ooh I’ll get in so much trouble for that). The line over the o means the ‘po’ is kind of said ‘paw’ but that’s my only tip. The Latin sounded mighty fine. After those trees flower, there’s red ‘snow’ all over the ground. The whole of the path around my house is bright red for days because of the neighbour’s tree shedding. Not grumbling. The birds adore the tree. The yarn was brilliant. I think it captured the photo so well.

I have just listened to a fab audiobook - it's not a christmas book, yet it has a few christmases in it. The Storyteller by the Sea by Phyllida Shrimpton. The book is 17 hours & 34 minutes. I was glued to it.

Sports parents in Canada are the same way. My son played competitive hockey, soccer (football) and baseball. It was disgusting. I was relieved when he aged out of all the madness.

You wouldn’t believe what it’s like sometimes. The other day I was re working the chiller section and a bloke just shouted at me “Three bird roast!!” Unbelievable. I wanted to say no thank you but I would have probably got into trouble 😂. Some customers leave their manners in their cars along with their bags 🥴

Quite agree about football parents. They were the same when my boy was playing 40 years ago and now I am watching my 2 grandaughters play I think they are even worse. I was standing next to a mum who was accusing our players of playing foul and her husband was threatening to go over and sort them out, very loudly! These were 11 year old girls! I really had trouble biting my tongue.
Good grief! Wish I could say I was surprised! I often think there should be a neutral pitch side referee dealing with language and bad attitudes amongst spectators 😄
Sadly, what you experienced at the football match is all too common. I’ve witnessed it with 6 year olds. I’m relieved my son prefers drama to football!
