*TIME STAMPS*
0:25 *Aloe vera* - For wound healing and cell generation. Look for acemannan, aloe polysaccharide extract or aloe extract, and NOT leaf juice.
2:08 *Hyaluronic acid* - Hydration.
2:40 *Trans-resveratrol* - Antioxidant. For redness and acne. Just eat grapes lol.
3:55 *Lactic acid* - Chemical exfoliation.
5:00 *Centella asiatica (gotu kola)* - Wound healing (I'm assuming its function is same as aloe vera).
5:30 *Ceramides* - Natural moisture barrier of skin. For moisture retention and good for eczema.
6:23 *Ferulic acid* - Antioxidant against UV radiation. Pair with sunscreen.
7:20 *Azelaic acid* - Free fatty acid. For acne.
7:58 *Hemp seed oil* - Best as cleansing oil and/or leave-on for body.
8:50 *Sunscreen* - Duh. Have to get back to work lol.
In case you want to jump back to review a specific ingredient :p
I may or may not edit this to include their functions later, depending on my schedule (I'm currently at work shhhh lol)
Edit: These are just cheat notes for fast reference. Watch her whole video. Very informative. #sciencebabes
workin hard, i see! 😉
Thanks! This helps.
Thanks 😊
Thanks, very helpful.

Do you think you could list some products that include these ingredients that you recommend?
I 2nd that!!
briana duarte yes!! That would be so helpful!
Please! I would love a list of what you use!
I've noticed she hasn't outright recommended any product.
I wonder if it's a work conflict? Since she forumlates products for companies, she may not be allowed to talk about it or recommend competators.
Yeah especially for trans-reservatrol and gotu ones
OH YES. an intro? Kenna out here GROWING.
MichelleSlowla ikk i was waiting for someone to comment this we stan
I love character development.
She’s rlly making moves
like a beautiful flower
Would you consider going over the ingredients in Halo beauty/kiwi vitamin? I'd love to know your thoughts!
Scientist_bb yes yes please
Scientist_bb I Use the Halo beauty Kiwi plus the multi-vitamin and I’ve noticed a difference,so yes I’d love to hear her thoughts as well.
yes please..
yes please!
Agreed! I’ve been considering this product as well
I’m so happy your channel exists and is getting the attention it deserves!
Meredith Shine me too!! What a breath of fresh Air!!
I would love to see a top 10 skincare products from the drugstore.....or a review on certain brands like la roche possay or vichy. Thanks for this quality content. Love from Argentina
Yes VICHY!!? Please
@@SarahSkinnyJeans I used to work for who carried LaRoche and Vichy. I think theyre both wonderful lines. But Vichy is fragranced just to let you know. Give them a try.
@@michelletidler1868 I have tried. VICHY and I LOVE it. But I'm wondering how healthy it actually is for my skin. Like despite it doing a damn good job at getting rid of my fine lines and wrinkles. I'm curious to know if I could be using something healthier or if VICHYs ingredient are harmless, then amazing!
Thanks for the input 😄
I use la Roche and it’s fucking saved my skin
Well now I'm going to use my aloe plants more. Can you tell me a specific product that isn't real expensive would really help with fine lines? Can you do a video for 10 things you avoid in skincare?
From what I've read retinoids are really good when it comes to fine lines and wrinkles as well as evening the skin. You can buy differin in drugstores and walmart and that contains adapalene which is a retinoid!
@@allthatshines1008 I didn't know that. I've never really had acne so I didn't know it contained that.
I'm hearing really good things about hyaluronic acid for pumping fine lines on reddit in the skincare addiction subreddit. Just a personal anecdote: I used that sephora bday gift the Drunk Elephant protini moisturizer which has ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and a bunch of fantastic ingredients and my skin never looked so good. I had this natural glow and it didn't break me out. Now I'm not necessarily saying it's just this moisturizer, but I suspect all the ingredients I mentioned really helped because I used the Kale Hyaluronic Acid moisturizer by some other brand who's name escapes me and had similar results. Make sure you use hyaluronic acid on wet skin it sounds weird but makes a big difference.
“The Ordinary” is a good brand to check out. Really affordable and have a lot of anti-aging products
@@ayeoritset5049 thanks hun 💜
I took copious notes while listening to this video. Kenna, you just make so much sense and are not pushing $95 creams on us. BRAVO! This video was the best I have heard concerning what exactly does my skin need.
It always seems that these skincare commercials keep popping up describing this "magic" oil that will solve all our problems. Even main stream companies come across this way as well. Many of these ingredients are in products from The Ordinary... so I will be placing an order tomorrow!
Can you make a video on over rated skin care ingredients??
great idea!
And products!
YASSSSS
I would love to see this too!
Very informative, Kenna. I’m looking forward to future videos where you go into more depth about these ingredients, where to find them, and how to use them. Keep up the great content! 💕
Will you make a video telling us about your skincare brand? Please? I would love to learn more about it.
illumibody athletics a lot of her products contain most if not all of the ingredients she listed in the video. www.altilisbeauty.com
Janine J the moisturiser in the line contains almost everything Kenna mentioned, indeed :) sadly everything is sold out, and, being a small local brand, there won’t be as much global coverage....
@@janinej919 yess! Thank you! Everything is sold out right now, but Kenna you are about to be making sales! I can't wait to try her line :)
@@janinej919 all the products have fragrance.. and the moisturizer claiming ceramides as "benefit" seems like it uses SK-influx (ceramide ap, ceramide eop, phytosphingosine, cholesterol, sodium lauroyl lactylate, carbomer, xanthan gum) im disappointed now.. i thought she was different.. :p
smith jane I’m sorry, but I don’t know what is wrong with the ingredients you listed-they all sound good to me. Except I agree that fragrance is a problem. Don’t know what to think of that.
How about a video of ingredients you AVOID?! 😊😊
I would love to see this too!
Yasssss

It's such a breath of fresh air to have somebody talk about beauty products in such a definitive way. It's so nice to have a beauty UA-camr that doesn't just screech at a camra about the newest eyeshadow palette that they got from PR haha

Love the intro!!!! It's been amazing to watch your channel grow!!!!
Brains and beauty! Double whammy!
You're AWESOME! Thank You for sharing your precious time, knowledge, & thoughts with us! Hugs & Blessings 2U!
I agree with you on sunscreen. I also once heard a dermatologist saying that the best sunscreen is the one you use. It can be great and safe, but if you end up not using it, because it's thick or too white or whatever, then it's useless 🤷🏻♀️
A lot of people have tested and rated sunscreens in the skincare addiction subreddit on Reddit if you are not sure what one is best! I really like the Australian Gold tinted one because it's velvety and dries to a matte finish AND it's a physical sunscreen which spreadability is pretty much unheard of with those! But ya any sunscreen you will actually use is the best sunscreen (except for those cheap brands that aren't actually waterproof)
Great video! I love Azelaic Acid, it’s a must for me in my skin care routine. I use Paula’s Choice 10% Azelaic Acid Booster and love it.
I've been wanting to try that one for a while now!
It's amazing, I can't beleive I didn't know about it all these years
Would love to see a video with your skincare routine, morning, night, how it changes throughout the week or seasonally, and which specific products you use
could you do a video to recommend how to combine ingredients? layer creams or not? your videos are informative and I love them!
yaaaaaaaaaaaas! thanks dear for sharing your wisdom ♥
i live your videos, as an esthetician its so helpful and affirms so much i have learned and in what i use in my personal routine. 💝
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us! 💞
I feel like I need to change up my whole face routine!!! Thank you Kenna❤
This is the most useful video ever..! 😍🤩 I'd love to hear more stuff like this. :)
1. Aloe vera
2. Hyaluronic acid
3. Trans-resveratrol
4. Lactic Acid
5. Centella Asiatica (gotu kola)
6. Ceramides
7. Ferulic Acid
8. Azelaic Acid
9. Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed oil
10. Sunscreen
(Just in case you know what each ingredient does and want to save time)
Cristopher Belloso Thank you so much, Christopher. 😊💛🌼
It's also in the description

I'm so glad I came across your channel!
Omg the intro yesssssss queen!!!!!
Oh my gosh! Im so glad your channel exists. Please tell us what products you use as well. I know not all products work for everyone, but it'll be very educational and help us find what fits us best.
Love your channel!
Fantastic info, thank you!
I'd love more of these videos on ingredients, maybe ones on specific skin concerns and the best ingredients for them?
Great video! Thank you for the info. ❤
I think you should do a video going over very popular skin care products that most of know of and probably use and just give your knowledge and thoughts on them!
Thank you for this video! Got great information. Is there a way you can make a video or a list or something on specific products you use?
Really looking forward to the deeper dives. #sciencebabes
Can you please do a tutorial and products you use for skincare! Love your channel ❤️
yess i needed this video
It's admittedly very refreshing to not have specific products recommended / advertised. ♥
Love the new intro card!
your new intro is so cute! love that it’s a nod to your work with breadfruit :-)
Super helpful! Thank you 🙏 ♥️
This is crazy helpful
Do you have recommendations for people with rosacea? I was recently diagnosed and prescribed a topical gel, but I'd love to know if there's more I can do or things I should avoid. Love your channel!
Red Light Therapy - check out the videos :)
This was great info, thanks!
Very interesting tea the house! I'm starting a job in skin care industry so i love your videos 🤗
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!!
XO’s from Mexico
Love your videos!!
Thank you so much for the information! Would love to have a variety of products to pick from that are "Kenna Approved" for each ingredient. Especially for ceramides and ferulic acid. Looking forward to the free fatty acids video!
Also, is it okay to use a straight oil in a double cleanse? I use ones that are "made" for cleansing and sort of rinse off as a milky texture.
Kenna, I’m so glad you talked about the sunscreen thing. I just saw my dermatologist and she told me about the potential of it absorbing into the bloodstream. It freaked me out. Like, I’m gonna get cancer if I don’t use sunscreen and I can potentially get it if I do😓😓. It’s exhausting. But I’m gonna keep using it. Thanksx.
